  • its worth £80.00

  • Why would you open the game from the wrong side ?

  • you should have kept that one sealed and ordered a used one off amazon for dirt cheap -_____- but hey thanks for the unboxing man

  • you are an IDIOT!!!!! pure (*#%^( MORON

  • Your really dumb for opening up a brand new out of print game. Wish there weren't as many idiots as you. Then factory sealed games wouldn't be so rare.

  • @tylerlovescorndogs Only idiots think factory sealed games are rare - what makes them so rare?

  • @tyzwain It's moron's like you that make them rare. Why would want devalue the game by like 80%?

  • @tylerlovescorndogs When did I say it was rare? Never. The only think rare about it is the fact I opened a brand new SNES game. A game is only worth what you pay for it, plus Star Fox is ten a penny.

The only thing rare about this game is that it was made by RARE. :)

  • @tyzwain only idiots think sealed games are Rare?? are u fuckin stupid. EG: Chrono Trigger open with box. £100 now Chrono Trigger Sealed box £4000 does this make any sence, i dont understand fucking idiots like you opening snes games wats the point in buying it to open it wen u could just buy in opened cond for a few £ sealed games are for collectors not nobheads like u openeing them u have no idea i agree totally with tylerlovescorndogs ur a prick ppl who do this make no sence

  • @SeGaSaTuRn1994 I really couldn't give a shit. Games are meant to be played. End of. You can polish your sealed game collection whilst I play my games. Your just annoyed I bought it for £1 and then opened it. Grow up.

  • wow, ballsy, yet stupid, but, some what interesting, that could easily fetch for about +$150,but this was your decision. \m/\m/

  • Youve just givin every collerctor out there the middle fingure your awsome hey how much did you even pay for that thing?

  • @JosephBTV £1 LOL

  • @tyzwain

You just lost like 800$ and even more $ towards the future...

  • @tyzwain JESUS! 1ero! how much n america 1dollar! dude u r LUCKY! that was awesome! I WISH! u had ANOTHER copy SILD! if i was n the 90s man! if i had a time machine delorean! i would go back! get 2 COPYS of each GAME! 1 to play! 1 to collect!!! LOL sry about u unsealing it bro! i kinda wish u didnt! but i understand the moeny it cost to even get a brand new one off of ebay or wat ever

  • This is why i don't want to collect sealed games, too tempting :) nice video, enjoy the game

  • That's awesome! Looks like you've been saving that thing for quite a long time! Great game! One of my personal old-school favorites from back in the day!

  • @MDthornton83 Saved it for a long time! :)

  • lol i love that lil zelda music u added ther lol

  • Unbelievable...one of the best games of all time still sealed to the max!! I would never have opened it...especially since you have the US version. Do you own a Famicom being in the UK?

  • Holy shit man! SEALED STARFOX COPY unbelievable dude, lol I know the feeling of wanting to open that thing up immediately lol

One of the best "unboxings" I've ever seen lol, good job dude

  • I wish I kept all my games in the case but I was 7 when I got snes games!

  • @hellhammmer666 , HEHEHEHEHEHEHE , At that age i would opening games once in my hands.

  • Awesome man, that brings me back to my childhood!

  • Lol thank you! Yeah I really felt like I was back in 1994, opening up the latest game :)

  • Games are meant to be PLAYED. To play them, you must OPEN them. What the FUCK is the point of keeping them sealed?

  • Exactly. So true. :)

  • Wow... I used to play this game when I was like, three years old or something... This game is like my big brother, y'know :p

  • Lol awesome....yeah so many memories from childhood gaming.

  • Wheres the nintendo strip? You dont need that knife if its official version. This must be a copy....

  • Unlikely, I've looked up a few other sealed ones and they look the same.

Also as for the knife, I didnt want to crease the box, hence a craft knife to break the seal. The game was new, as I show in the video - so it cant be fake.

  • No official seal on wrapping and no official sticker holding the game box shut. this game was not brand new.

  • PAL copies = Red seal

    US copies = No seal

This game was US version, and was BRAND NEW when opened.

    Google it.

  • Ahh ok man. sorry.

  • No worries dude, got me thinking too when you said it :)

  • I don't think there'd be all those other papers and stuff in the box if it was a copy, dude....

  • Breath in the minty freshness :) Good call, get the game played and enjoyed!

  • Cheers mate, I felt like a right kid opening this up lol.

  • @tyzwain I bet! On the plus side too, Starwing doesnt work too well in 60hz, so to get the proper experience you'll need this or the Japanese one anyways.

  • i cant belive i used to throw away the boxes along with the books....i deserve to get bitch slapped

  • Lol! We're all guilty of binning boxes, we dont really think when we're 6-12.

  • Thanks for sharing that, I cant remember what the last snes game I opened was unfortunately.

  • Well that was my first brand new SNES game - woop woop!

  • could have made a mint off that on ebay doh!

  • Lol nah I didn't wanna sell it, I'm a collector that plays, not a collector of value :)

  • In felt the anticipation with you man!

  • Lol cheers :)

  • Awesome! The posters were never the same as the game in the box. They packed posters of upcoming games to advertise. Great un boxing. Not sure what #34 is but mine has #11.

  • Cool, seems its prob the batch number - so for every 10,000 made they got a single stamp.

  • the only way i found to open such boxes without creasing the flap is to get a knife and insert in the little slice on each end and flex the edges up so they dont catch on the inner tabs then once open shave off a milimetre or so off each tab so it doesn't catch in future and voila, yea its a bit extra after all but if ur into keeping boxes fresh like me then its the only way :D

  • Lol yeah you gotta do a Mission Impossible to open up a new game without creasing the flap

  • That's a really valid point made in this video, why we collect these memories in VideoGame form. As for me personally i would've just got some cheap alternative copy to play, off ebay or something & kept it sealed. But i must admit even when i was 15 back in '93, of all the importers i bought games off, hardly any of them came sealed to be honest, i guess some dealers use to unwrap them for display etc.And really that's the whole point of our hobby is'nt it...to play & re-live the memories.

  • wow dude that was awsome, felt like i was 10 again when getting a new game ment so so much brill vid matey 5*

    Jimmy-

  • Lol exactly! Thats what I wanted people to feel. I've never had a brand new SNES game, so the experience of opening it was worth more to me than whatever I could have sold it for on eBay.

  • totally agreed buddy, thats what half of this whole retro/collecting thing is about re-living those feelings etc.

    Jimmy-

  • epic! there really is that line of people who play, collect ,and hold for value, and those who collect to play, well done ! great show :)

  • Yeah its become kinda in-fashion to have games purely for their value - I collect to play. Think of it as a dirty little protest lol.

  • I would not of done it. I would of bought another copy. Because a sealed copy goes for over $100.

  • The game has no real financial value to me. Its a £2 game because thats what I bought it for. I wasnt going to sell it...so made sense to open it lol.

  • great video, although I don't' know if I would have done that, but at the end of the day we buy games to play not to sit on the self to look at.

  • Thanks Barry, yeah its the issue of whether people care about the game or its value. I mean if its worth a lot financially and you dont like it, sell it! Dont keep it on a shelf just for display. I like Star Fox, and so I decided to open it. :)

  • great job at devalueing ur game lmao

  • Lol, I'm not really a collector of SNES games so it's no skin off my nose.

Plus its the US version, and also I want to be the first to open it.

  • oh Ty mate, my heart dropped through to my stomach... I couldn't have done that LOL

  • Lmao! This video has provoked such strong reactions lol.

  • funnily enough I found a sealed Gameboy cartridge in my local CEX it was Super Marioland 2 (6 Golden Coins) the other day in town. They wanted £25 for it !!! I didn't have the cash on me at the time to make a smaller offer lol.

  • lol! Supose its a once in a lifetime kinda thing *breaks out into a Talking Heads dance*

Offer them £18 next time your in town

  • Wow! Awesome video mate. I loved the new game smell back then and still do with my new current gen games today :)

  • Lol it did have a nice smell to it, but nothing beats a fresh game!

  • you should of kept it sealed & just buy another one used.

  • Nah its just a game, and to be fair I paid £2 for it so not really breaking the bank.

  • I was cringing when you opened the flap at the end mate- dont think I could cope with trying to collect MINT SNES games. Those boxes are just so fragile!

I would have bought a loose cart and kept it sealed ;-)

Still, its pretty cool that you were the first person to open it in all those years :)

  • Lol this video seems to be just like marmite.

Yeah the boxes are extremely fragile, but its been bashed around a bit anyway. If I was collecting SNES games I'd have kept it that way, but I'd rather play it :)

  • Btw Ty, was it made in japan or assembled in mexico? i can't see on the vid but it looks like it was made in japan as the writing on the cart looks about the right size for the word japan :)

  • Made in Japan! Is there any major differences in quality then?

  • Can't believe you did it ty lol btw i forgot to tell you the other day that i checked my starfox when you asked about the poster and mine has the same poster as yours with the super scope one side and zelda on the other :)

  • Lol well I thought I might as well, and turns out I enjoyed it! Was like being a kid again. Might have something to do if I hit 200 subs lol.

  • have you played it yet ty? im putting up a vid response to this btw, you might wonder why but you'll see when its up lol

  • Oooh look forward to it! :)

  • Very nice. I opened up a brand new GameCube game the other day but I didnt film it. I should of ha ha!

Do US games not have the Nintendo seal going around the box then? You know the shirk wrap seal that you pull the little tab and it unwraps? Cheers for sharing ;o)

  • Dont think so....it was just wrapped in usual plastic, not official nintendo ones. Same for my sealed US NES game - its just basic wrapping.

  • emotional

  • Lol was kinda

  • i remember opening so many snes games when i was a kid ,, man i wish i never did now i'd be rich lol

  • EPIC unboxing!.. I know how it feels, but heck, when you wanna play the game badly.. you'd go that far :P Incredible man.. 17 years untouched by human hands! I also have the same problem opening FC boxes, especially ones from Konami. You just can't get it open w/o damaging the flap :( I have since found one solution, but it still doesn't work quite well. Great vid man!! I hope you are enjoying StarFox now!! It's a killer game :)

  • @PhatPhunk: Cheers man, yeah its weird that I was the first to open it up.

The irony is the US version doesnt work with a US/UK adaptor :(

  • 6:00

lol not once but twice... the sound effect

  • Lol you love it! Its like in Zelda where theres 2 chests, open one and you get 20 rupees, open the one next to it and you get a whole heart piece! But both have that dramatic music.

  • That was excellent! The snes version is my absolute favorite Star Fox.

  • Thanks Wendy, yeah I played the UK version but am yet to try this one!

  • Balls of steel, ty! lol Hope a sealed copy doesn't turn out to be worth 10 grand this time next year lol

Nice to see the inside of it and being the nostalgic fella I am i'd have loved the feeling of being the first person to see that stuff for almost 20 years!

  • LMAO! Yeah I think I'd wrap it back up if it was.

Quite bizarre, it felt like it was 1993 - hope you guys felt something similiar?

  • as a collector i cringe at the thought of opening a sealed cartridge based game, i would have just bought a loose copy for play. i guess you still have a mint cib copy as well as a new game to play, great find.

  • Thats the point, it's something to get over. The game itself is still new and mint - just now I can put that awesome Zelda poster up.

  • i wouldnt have the courage lol

  • Lol it's taken me about 3 months to even consider it.

  • Minty fresh! Crack 'em open and enjoy 'em I say. :)

  • Agreed :) I got more enjoyment opening the sealed game than I did watching it sealed.

  • Great vid.

    Epic to be sure. ^_^

  • Thank you my friend...just something different!

  • Man you're insane! I would of left it sealed and just bought a loose cart! My games i have sealed now will probably stay like that cos i'll never play them as much as i would like.

  • Lol! I got a few more sealed games...might have to do a poll of something...prepare to cringe some more! ;)

  • theres a guy selling a sealed copy of this in my local retro store , i've thought about buying it but then all i would do is open it so i just bought the much cheaper non sealed version instead.

Takes me back to when i was young and all my local game shop had was snes and megadrive games and under. It was so cool in between the years 1996-99 , just full of nintendo and sega at their peak and when a official Megadrive station was setup in store to mess around on with golden axe running on it

  • Exactly, I bought this for £2 at a car boot so it's not like I paid £40 for it. If I did I wouldnt open it lol.

  • Awsome video matey : ) I would of done the same thing if i were you. Really cool video mate!

  • Cheers Joe, it seems I've hit a nerve here. Some saying I should have left it sealed, others saying I've done it right. Glad to see people enjoy it anyway lol.

  • it's a bugger those snes boxes didn't have the smooth end flap like n64 boxes so u could open it without creasing the flap, extremely nice find that.

  • i get so frustrated that everytime i open a snes box the flap pinches in the middle >:(

  • Lol annoying as hell.

  • Yeah that really annoyed me. Still its a minor issue, especially when everything else is new lol.
