I read The Scar first and then Perdido Street Station and The Scar is still by far my favorite. But I've never read anything from China that was bad. I love this guy. ;-{)

A great writer, although I confess not liking "The Iron Council" one single bit.

Perdido Street Station is just brilliant. The language and prose are just amazing. I cried several times towards the end. The Scar is almost that good and Iron Council comes closer. However Perdido is quite simply amazing. Un Lun Dun is also a good romp.

Read "Perdido Street Station" and I'm deciding on whether I should read "The Scar" or this one next.

The Scar is incredible. I'm almost done with The City & The City. It is also amazing, but VERY different than PSS. If you want to stay in Bas Lag, read the Scar. If your looking for something quicker and less strange, but a fun fast read, then go for The City.
