I can't believe it. He's going to set the world on fire. If he had been studying for 15 years, I'd say this was lousy. First time at the organ? Absolutely fantastic. Get this kid to the university. Yesterday! Doesn't matter if he's ready for college or not. And quit saying 1-2-3, Grandpa! LOL. I know you're proud. I would be beaming.
Noble effort, clearly you have been doing you scales and technique faithfully. Organ is played a bit differently than the piano but you'll find that out soon. BTW, it is good to get some organ shoes. I once broke a toe kicking a sharp when playing in my socks. All the best of luck and success to you son.
@pmzephyr22 Realy? OUCH. Yeah after you say that I think I should get a pair. By the way, NICE JOB! It may need a little work, but you will get better!
@pmzephyr22 : Agree with most of these comments. The main thing I's like to say is: Five days since you first played an organ? The gift is there - you could be great some day, son. Other hopefully constructive comments:
All the opening "D"s in the pedal are the LOW D, not middle D. I have no problem with the "stockin' feet" personally - have always played that way. Work on "organ touch" - yes. GET THE ORGAN PIECE - piano reduction doesn't work. Lastly - KEEP GOING, friend! On your way!
Thanks for your comments! I'll pass this on to my son. I checked out your videos, goodchappy - you have remarkable capabilities yourself! My son continues to love playing piano, and we hope that at some time he'll take up the organ. Our church will need another generation of organists in the coming years, and I (with an admittedly biased father's perspective) think he should be able to do a good job at it!
I think the best organists are those who studied piano a number of years before starting the organ. So now seems a good time for him to start organ with a good teacher. If there is a university nearby with an organ program, contact them. Way too many hacks out there who will be willing to take your money and don't know anything about the instrument!
that is very amazing! im 18 now and would love to learn the organ. its amazing that he figured out the different manuals as well as the pedals in 5 days!
@farmer5202 (proud father responding): He's been playing piano for 4 years, and this video was of him playing about 5 days after he first ever played on an organ. He's practiced this piece thousands of times on the piano, but the Friday before I made this video was his first time playing on an organ! I was pretty proud of him, and he seemed to think it was no big deal. How he figured out the pedals without using them before still has me scratching my head! Thanks for your compliment!

Amazing job. Sidenote: I don't think I've ever seen a 2-manuel pipe organ.

Very good, Aaron. I hope you are still working on organ skills.
The pencils on the organ jam - I think EVERY church organ has them - plus some under the pedalboard ;-)

Snažíš sa o rýchle tempo, ale nejde ti to.Nehraj niektoré pasáže tak rýchlo.A treba presne odčítať noty!!!
