  • what was the corvette made out of? Quantam Crystalline armor?

  • By the way, you will get better music if you select General MIDI as your music card from the game setup.

  • Im a rebel Corvette, on a collusion course with Imperial Star Destroyers, hey this is pretty fun...I think Ill crash into a few more and have the Empire after me--avoid crashes like this. Avoid "Mayhem" like me

  • I wish they would redo this game for Xbox or PS3 or hell even for the PC....I loved these games...Tie-fighter was my favorite.

  • I am really hoping that someone will record all of the cutscenes in the "Tie Fighter" video game of all of the Secret Order cutscenes. Someone has already done something like this for all of the Battle cutscenes (see my Favorites for a link). I need this so I can suggest a possible tie in to a KOTOR total conversion mod that takes place during the period of the Star Wars original trilogy.

  • i could never get past the death star trench run level when i had this game

  • Ah, I remember playing this soon after it came out when I was a kid. Such good memories! Priceless gameplay.

  • Since when was an A-Wing involved in the first Death Star battle?

  • Comment removed

  • I miss these types of games. Star Wars has become too Jedi/Sith and Force oriented nowadays.

  • At 7:03, it reminds me of when the Deltas rammed the Deathmobile into the stands in the film Animal House.

  • where are the ejection cut scenes. where ur pilot gets taken by the empire

  • One would think that the Galactic Empire scans all cargo and vessels for explosives, no? How did the Rebels manage to bring a bomb on board a star destroyer?!

  • Looool...tiny taun-taun at 8:50 "Braaaah....Braaaah...."

  • are interdictors actually present in game?

  • I remember that final mission to escape to Hoth. Awesome feeling!

I'm really sad they never got to do a campaign for the Snow Speeder and Hoth. That would have really rocked.

  • It's so charming to see the award medal scene with midi music and clunky graphics.

  • this is how episode III should of been like, the rise of the Rebel Alliance, the story of obtaining the Death Star plans, and it would of been bad ass to see Han save Chewie from Kashyyk, winning the Millenium Falcon from Lando in a Sabaac game, and doing the Kessel run in 12 parsecs after dumping Jabba's spice supply when ditching imperials. and of course Darth Vader exterminating the jedi. there needs to be a reboot of the prequels.

  • @SAOTUBE Yeah that would be cool. X-wing is the only game where you get too see how the death star plans were stolen and the events that happened right before Episodes IV.

  • @CF40

To be fair, the Death Star plan heist was actually multi-layered. What happened in this game was only part of it. Another action was when Kyle Katarn stole another set in the game Dark Forces.

  • Thank God for Dos Box

  • i am the stupidest person on youtube. i recycles my old 486 with this game on it and a flightstck pro 2 joystick. whhhhhyyyyyyy?

  • I remember the first level were you fight assault gunboats. I told my wingmen to attack one assault gunboat, and nothing happened. I switched through all possible targets, and all X wings were destroyed! then i single handedly took out all remaining ships and beat the level on my own!

  • 5:17 - Kyle receives that same medal for stopping the Dark Trooper project in Dark Forces. It must be prestigious.

  • I don't give a shit how hardcore of a Star Wars fan you are. Hoth would suck,

  • Ahh, nostalgia. I played this bad boy on my old 386. Got it again when it hit the collector's pack but never found a compatable joystick. Recommendations?

  • At 6:30 you don't fuck with the empire

  • Thanks! I searched that!

  • These are surprisingly great cutscenes for a game of this type.

  • "Thank goodness. Is the Hoth base operational?"

"what do you think, you dozy cow? You're standing in it so just look around ya. Feel that? Its the central heating. And so are the lights...OH, and look at this funny screen here flashing away...c'mon, use your bloody head, woman!"

  • do you think this could be launched in DosBox or D-Fend v2?

  • some of these cutscenes kinda remind me of the later space quest game cutscenes, after all this game was made not to long after space quest

  • Not even the B-Wing was a match for the Tie Advanced, and don't even get started on the Tie Defender.

  • wow. imperial star destroyers must have REEEEAAALLYY crappy armor if a single coorvette can plow its way through all of them

  • @mager56723

    LOL!

That was my fav cutscene back in the day.

If memory serves me right, the mission before involved escorting scientists and engineers to that corvette so it could have special shielding installed, making it able to ram thru stuff.

  • you obviously didn't play the game or else you'd know the explanation in the story as to how it was possible

  • I did play the game.

it's just been a few years, so I've forgotten much of the storyline

  • @mager56723

Actually, the corvette was using a special shield technology stolen from the Imperials. They stated this in the game and it was part of your missions to help steal the technology.

  • lol...is that the expansion pack (B-wing) never seen the last cut scenes before...

  • lol, the little pieces of debris floating away after an IMMENSE explosion are funny

  • The battle in Scene I on the planet Orion was so easy looking but it would have been harder.

  • i have a few problem with these cut scenes. 1.) the imperial plans were retrieved by kyle kataran in dark forces. 2.) no A-wings at the battle of yavin

  • There are many story elements of how the rebels got the plans. also I know Kyle got the plans in Dark Forces however X-Wing did come first. But I think the Imperials kept seperate parts of the Death Star Plans in order to keep anyone from discovery any weakness, which of course failed. Also I don't get why there were A-Wings, more than 3 or 4 rebel starfighters that survived and of course no Millennium Falcon like in the movie in X-Wing. But I guess no one should really care since it's a classic

  • The A-wings here were retconned as R-22 Spearheads.

  • 1. The Death Star plans had multiple operations. When combined, they formed one set -- which went to R2-D2.

    2. We didn't SEE any A-wings at Yavin in the movie, but that doesn't mean they weren't there. Use your imagination.

  • X-Wing was released before Kyle Katarn was introduced in Dark forces. You're right about the a-wing thing. Lucasarts used artistic licence so that the game would feature more than just two ships.

  • Man what a great game X-Wing was. Brings back a lot of memories.

  • At 0:22- "Planet has been secured." Wow he made it sound so easy.

  • anyone know the requirements of tie fighter, xwing, x wing vs. tie fighter and balance of power for x wing vs. tie fighter

  • yes i think the requirments is dos or really early windows. i played it in the mid 90s usuring i think windows 95.

I dont know if vista or xp can play it or not but i wouldnt bet on it. None of them had been able to play any of the other games i had in the 90s.

  • back then in early 90s, with almost no RAM, no 3D accelerator graficcards, simple ADLIB and Soundblaster sounds running on microsofts most stable , reliable and secure operating system ever... DOS

  • There wasn'et any a-wing's during the battle of yavin

  • According to wookiepedia, in some texts there are two prototype A-wings called R22 spearheads.

  • So where are the cut scenes?

  • Some A-Wings at 4:35 but they weren't in use at the Battle of Yavin they came in service at the Battle of Endor.

  • R-22 Spearhead, its a prototype for what would later become the A-Wing. Cannon in star wars is always unreliable. In Galactic Battlegrounds the AT-AT was a prototype a few months before the assault on hoth but now they have used them in the clone wars comics. They didn't have Imperial Star Destroyers during the clone wars but now they do and its called the Imperator which entered service along side the Victory star destroyer in the closing months of the clone wars.

  • at 2:30 why is the excecutor there when it was clearly still being constructed in the force unleashed.

  • The Executor was used in the Blockade of Yavin roughly a month after the first Death Star was destroyed. It was being commanded by Admiral Griff.

  • yes but that did not answer my question of the excecutor being at tattoine.

  • Well, the video games are G cannon so I don't consider TFU to be a reliable source. It wasn't suppose to be at tatooine but then again the AT-AT was used in the clone wars after they had established that it was a new assault vehicle in the months before hoth.

  • Have any of those capture scenes, rescue scenes, and death scenes from the game?

  • Yeah, I'd like to see those too. (Again).

  • Though most of the sound effects of the time of this game were fairly mediocre I actually like the brief steam-whistle sounding noise of the Death Star's superlaser from 4:20 to 4:21 as it sounds like it is intensifying.

  • That interdictor Cruiser was sure cutting it close eh? 6:40

  • careless pilot

  • @PenAirPilot

close doenst even say the half of it!

  • omg thank you very much for this! i loved the game but i was too young to complete it and never saw the cutscenes now i finaly can see them yyyye hehe

  • MAD voice-acting skills!!!

  • Thank you for posting this. It has brought back amazing gaming memories.

  • Tour IV Scene 4 at 7:00 is the most awesome way to end a tour of duty.

  • I think I liked Tie Fighter more than X-Wing.

  • 3:21

    Man. Vader's a dick.

  • Sorry I meant, iMUSE music!

  • Ingenious video. I love MUSE music!

  • star wars battlefront 3

  • Games like this prove that at the end of the day, gameplay is more important than graphics. I still play this and TIE Fighter.

  • @RDarth never played this game :( only played through Tie Fighter, X-Wing Alliance and stuff :)

  • @RDarth

Yes proper video games like this aren't made anymore sadly

  • I like how the Death Star blows up into a few peices of sheet metal and tubes, just like the star destroyer.

  • lol

  • Well if anybody wants to play X-wing Alliance hit me up. I will play. I like to CO-OP. Falcon,B-wing,Xwing, VS SSD loaded with Tie-fighters. It get's fun with more than one person...Message me

  • I'm stuck on the mission where you have to help recover X-Wings...defending shuttles from TIE Interceptors in a Y-Wing is hard work.

  • Why did I get minused for that? This game would be boring if the missions were too easy...

  • graphics are fukin awesome! is this for ps3?

  • No, actually, this is for the PC, and was sold in the 1990's!

  • sarcasm....

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!

    nah man!!!

sony can never ever in this exist of man get computers that smart to make grphics that good!!!!

    it must be nintendo =0!!!!!

  • plz be sarcasm

  • 8-bit ftw

  • WOW... i didn't realize how not so good graphics it was back then in 1993 but i MISS THIS GAME...

anyone know if there's a modern version of this game with the EXACT same game play and game concepts today?

  • actually the first game to have cut scenes was Ninja Gaiden. Dark Forces though was the first FPS to allow crouching and strafing. good times...

  • i'm stucked in tour 1 mision 4 the stupit tie bombers are destroing the corvete fromm a very long range with their photon torpedoes any1 knows/remembers any hints for the mision?

  • ignore the Tie Fighters which appear first and fly directly where the Tie Bombers show up. Put max energy in your engine, order your wingman to attack the bombers too. I remember doing this mission over and over again too, X-Wing was a hard game, much harder than Tie Fighter imho

  • X Wing was much harder than Tie Fighter. I remember having to fly missions over and over again, and then buying the book, and reading and re reading it. I enjoyed it, but I really enjoyed Tie Fighter more..

  • indeed i have both x-wing and tie-figher. tie figher is easy enough that my little sister made to ass many misions very fast.

    P.S: what book?

  • @Blackfury1 Fully agree. X-WING's difficulty level was insane. I was so proud when i beat it. TIE FIGHTER is cake, by comparison.

  • wow all these vids just make the rebels look more like terrorists to me :( sorry rebels fans

  • that's what they were, except they did not hit civilian targets, thus not terrorists.

  • will they make a new version of xwing or tie fighter if so please let me know

  • I used to have this game on my pc back in the 90's. i played it all the time back when I was in high school. though Tie fighter was much easier to play. did anyone have "Dark forces"? i had that game too with all the cheat codes.

  • I had Dark Forces. great game..too bad they don't have it for the pc anymore

  • I'm torn between X-wing and Tie Fighter. I can't decide which of those two games is the best flight sim of all time!

  • This game is legendary!! I would only add:

"Yeah, you know what they said when I asked if we could put a railing in? They said they thought we'd be LEANING on it all day! Can you believe that?" Lol

  • X-Wing was good, but TIE Fighter was better. Being bad's more fun!

  • the Cut scene at 02:55 looks like the intro to Return of the Jedi

  • Yes, it looks like the opening of roj to me, to.

  • One interesting thing about tours 4 and 5 is that they bridge the gap between "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back"... similar to how "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" (a game I haven't played much but have read about) bridges the gap between "Attack Of The Clones" and "Revenge Of The Sith"...

Anyway, I used to have this game on my old 486 but I didn't know there were actually voices in the cutscenes. o.o Well, I suppose seeing as how I have dosbox, I might as well go look for that game now...

  • -Sigh- After seen this great video, I'm now even more certain that the only reason why the Rebels won the Civil War was that George Lucas wanted them to...

  • Answer this question... what would happen if the Imperial Forces were victorious in defeating the Rebel Alliance. Do you think that there would be peace in the galaxy?

  • Hmm... well, I guess there wouldn't be any serious rebellions after that, once the Imps would tighten their defenses, make their vehicles more invulnerable, won't be too overconfident, striked fear to all opposers with another superweapon and all that.

There wouldn't be TOTAL peace because of small rebellions and fragments of Alliance, but no one could overthrow the Empire after the demise of RA.

  • Amazing

  • thank you for uploading this.

It brings back so many nearly forgotten memories

  • Lovely graphics... so dramatic, too. Gotta love Tarkin's expression change on 3:23

  • nice sarcasm asshole since this game was made in the early 90's

  • "nice sarcasm asshole" - nl62

o.o Jumping to conclusions much? Did it ever occur to you that DarthClam might have genuinely meant that the graphics were pretty good for their time?

  • Pac Man

  • lol DUNE!!

  • It wasn't some relay station who stole the plans...it was Kel Katarn!

(if you do'nt know that..serously go play dark forces right now!!!!!!!!!)

  • Dude, Katarn sent the data to this relay station.

  • hmm are you sure about that...from the game:"kel katarn delivers the plans to the rebel allaince..soon afterwards the death star is destroy"

  • Delivers is just a word with many meanings, if it said "transports", it would be different.

  • hmm well maybe your right. Not sure about it though. As after he got the plans he went straight to the rebel leader (the female in white robes). Why would he send it to relay station? Anybody else got a opionion on it?

katarn acquires plans; "this is to easy.. now to get back to my ship"

  • Take that "Invincible" Bwhaha

  • hmm good grafic for being then.

  • this and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis were my favorite games growing up. I never read the hand book, so until I did, I didn't realize that you couldn't advance until you took invincibility off. lol

  • FFS i want to play this game but the hopes to find it are almost 0 cause the game is very old :(

  • One of the hardest games I have ever played... Still good though. Tie Fighter, the sequel, cleaned up the interface and could be considered one of a few incredible video game sequels.

  • Tie fighter was awesome. I never got far with x wing though. It's hard, but it's IMPOSSIBLE when your joystick won't stay centre. It takes 5 times as long to get a lock since you always have to keep compensating for drift. I'm gonna see if it's better with an xbox 360 controller. The thumbpads are quite sensitive and don't drift, so it should help a lot.

  • Rebel scum, your time is up! Now, the Death Star III WILL TEAR YOUR FLEET UP!!!!!

  • Ohh, memories...

Shame there is no space simulations games these days...

  • this was one of my altime favourtie games. used to run just fine on my old pc. anyone know how to create ems memory on the new pc's? only i cant get it to run. Please PM me if you know

  • i have all 3 in the series. x-wing is hardest for me coz u cant tell if an enemy is shooting you until they shot you. and the tour of duty is hard. tie fighter is my fav in the series by far

  • I would always just get lost in space or end up 100000 km from my targets lol. The death sequences were the most intriguing.

  • Very cool. I got the game in '92 for my 10th Birthday I still have the gamebook. Just a kickass game.

  • Brilliant game. Got it on 3.5 floppy disks for an old 386 pc. Hasnt really aged, if they re-did it but with better graphics it would be a hit without question. Starwars games used to have serious quality.

  • Unfortunately, the key word here is "used to"... :( If they could make another game with the quality of the first two xwing games...

  • I think this reason this game and sequel, the even better Tie Fighter, was that it was made by people with passion about Star Wars long after the films were out. Most movie games are made by journeyman software houses who are paid just to make a game to come out in time with the movie, which is why they mostly suck. Great games, like so much in life, requires the passion.

  • Wow, it's been so long. Nice post.

  • the corvette was able to ram all of those star destroyers because it had some new shielding technology that allowed it to do what it did.

  • yes, for what sistem is this game??????

  • for the xbox 360 :p

  • for the pc, there are 3 versions, dos floppy (extentions optional by purchase, crappy sound effects, imuse), dos cd (extensions come with reliece, sound effects from movies, imuse) and windows (extentions come with reliece, sound effects from movies, crappy static music from the films)

  • wat system is the game 4?

  • PC i think... not too sure tho

  • this game is called 'star wars X WING' very old game

  • what game is this

  • My god this is nostalgic!

  • Geiles Game geile Videos

  • rofl atomic bomb, in the star wars universe they use baradium, it makes atomic bombs look like sparklers. In the star wars universe they also have bomb smiffers that can detect chemical traces from bombs.

me = huge star wars nerd.

  • They still use nuclear bombs though(proton torpedos)

  • 6:35 LOL the droids still fannin that ruler guy. :D

  • i did'nt understand alot of these ending even when i played the game but like the game was actully quite hard....

  • Man, this is an eerie feeling, watching this again after all these years. I didn't even know how much of this I still remember. The video brought it all right back. Thanks a lot!

  • i remember playing this when i was little...thanks for the cutscenes

  • 07:09 lol

  • It makes me think why didn't they have Leia's ship do that in the beginning of Episode IV.:D

  • Loved the scenes. the bomb in the hangar destroying the whole ISD and that corvette ramming the ISDs was over the top though

  • They might be able to destroy the vessel from the inside if they use something like an a-bomb.

  • I agree. There's no way they could get ahold of a bomb that powerful, and the corvette, all things, considered, should have been destroyed upon contact with the first ISD.

  • Why do you think they wouldn't be able to get a hold of a simple atomic bomb of some kind? It's a galaxy with hyperdrive, massive starfleets, huge land machines, etc. Even a bomb like that dropped on Nagasaki, when detonated inside an ISD would do the job.

  • If I remember correctly, and it's a stretch, it was a corvette modified to withstand the collisions.

If only we could get the iMUSE Roland/MIDI soundtrack to go with it.

  • The corvette would have to be around three or four times its current size in order to have enough armor to withstand crashing through that many ships. And how could it go THROUGH, anyway? Why wasn't it slowed down at all?

  • Actually that warhead was imperial.. and the rebel intelligence had to pull many resources to plant that bomb inside the ISD INMORTAL like using a modified stolen imperial Shuttle

  • dont remembera A-wing at the battle of yavin hmmmmm

  • That's the retcon starfighter known as R-22 Spearhead. ^_^;;

  • Gotta love the Plooriod cutscene.

The guy's expression was just priceless.

  • Thank you for posting these. I noticed that this is from X-wing CD (1995), rather than the original disk version of the game, which had cheaper sound effects throughout the game and cutscenes.

  • << umm wtf i dont remember this game. >>

It was a flight sim. You can't play it anymore unless you use W95.

  • I remember this sooo well.

  • I still have the original game + extensions

  • I loved this game

  • umm wtf i dont remember this game.

  • old memories :)
