SomebodysQuestion; Technically, "Star Wars" is very uneven. One can still appauld some of the flying sequences - most are more impressive than the flat CGI cartoon look of today - but 1967's "Planet of the Apes" had superior make-up and that was ten years prior. "Star Wars" is a fun film for kids, but once one reaches 20, isn't it time to admit it's poorly acted, hokey and downright silly? "Wizard of Oz" is also a nostalgic kid's flick, but does that place it beyond criticism?

@Caswell39 dude, not everything is about the fucking graphics and stuff. Star wars is and will always be classic and fun to watch, regardless of age. Even now I think the prequel trilogy is amazingly well made because of what SomebodysQuestion: It's about the good old nostalgic feeling and atmosphere and returning to the time when you were still a kid, dreaming to become a jedi one day. A lot of good movies were made in the past and are actually better than the bullshit we get to see today.

@Caswell39 man, remember that this movie was released in 1977! the computers back then had the size of a small room and the possibilities for visual effects were poor. compare star wars to other movies of this time and you'll see that it's quite good for the technical circumstances. btw this film ain't about being convincing - to me this old atmosphere is charming and funny and i like the story, the fantastic creatures/places
