Very good fighter, I respect his dignity, but I do not think he was capable of running a country. Afghanistan never needed fighters, but it needed thinkers. The role of Ahmed Shah was good during Jihad against Russia. He launched various successful attacking missions against them. But after defeat of Russia his role becomes negative gradually. He indulged in civil war. He should have not opposed the Taliban. Fighting against Taliban was his biggest blunder.

My father is a racist so I grew up with his views in my head. But that is wrong. I can't believe how society creates these stereotypes.There are heroes in this World like Massoud. @wildforest25 pls look more into our leader. he signed a womans rights doctorine in his region when the taliban came to power and thousands fled to panjshir, where they had difficulties supplying all the refugees with food etc but panjshir was open to all refugees always. Massoud constantly talked about inalienable natural human rights like the founding fathers of america did.

While the US was explicitly and implicitly supporting the taliban regiem (yes they did this) they sent a minister to afghanistan to tell him he should give up. he took his hat and threw it on the table and said as long as I have this much land I will defend it with my life. This was after he signed the womans rights doctorine for his region, whereas afghan women were getting shot and raped under the talibs for no reason, where the US knew about this but still supported the talibs.
