  • omfg where is on the run @.@ why it ends at the beginning

  • this song is epic :)

  • this song is amazing. my favourite off the album.

  • ........And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking

Racing around to come up behind you again

The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death........

  • mamma mia..............

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooow this is the song!

  • My grade 12 English teacher made us study this song in the 80's. YAY to him, best teacher ever!!!!

  • I was wondering why the plane threw me a curve. I have pulse on DVD and I was wondering "what the hell?" Great post though. thanks! RIP Richard, You are dearly missed:(

  • my copy is on dvd ...much clearer @ 5.1 sound epic

  • Gilmour is THE best ever.

  • é para chorar de saudades ....................... e foi assim que comecei a gostar de musicas e cultivar o que é bom mudicalmente sons tirados dos dedos

  • shame about the drums :/

  • dammit...I miss mr. wright!!:( Roger Waters is such a Wanker for firing Wright !! Thanks to David for having him on the momentary lapse of reason album, tours, and division bell !! Also on David's solo stuff as well.

  • do yourself a favor & listen to DSOTM on vinyl if you don't have a turn table frikin buy one!

  • I think they sounded better live than on the album.

  • amo este grupo, que triste que no haya nacido en esa epoca, he ido conociendo su musica y es increible, sus armonias , letras son unos genios!!

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SONG !

  • My mother taught me to listen to Pink Floyd. I'm 16 now, but my son will listen to Pink Floyd for sure.

    Brazilian greetings.

  • Did anyone else feel violated by that beautiful solo?

  • @XiXDimeBagDarrellxIx cranial or rectal?

  • @alkimst13 Both, at the same time.

  • @XiXDimeBagDarrellxIx that'll leave a mark.

  • This is music :)

  • david gilmore makes me cry

  • i want to be on that plane so bad

  • the best sign ever,in all pink Floyd albums.the best for ever,1000'0 of years to come.

  • do like it if you hear this in 2011 :)

because pink floyd its FOReverrrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!

  • @odedohayon You're soooo last year. I 'hear this' in 2012 ^_^

  • @ermhm one year closer to death...

  • I love David Gilmour's voice, It's so dlsakjgldkajgal. good god.

  • 19 idiots

  • ...its my aeroplane

Pink FLoyd its a space music of s.XX

  • holy fuck

  • I watched a Pink Floyd documentary yesterday (you may have seen my review posts last night), and learned a few cool new things, despite being a lifelong fan there was much I didn't know! Shine On is about Syd Barrett, and the clocks & all the sound effects in their music are EMI special effects--none are real. Also Dark Side of the Moon has been on top selling LP list for 14 years in a row, breaking so many records that no other band has ever come even close.

  • @gmj2012 yeah floyd are the greatest!! recommend reading nick masons book 'inside out' to learn a little more if your interested....

  • @ATABOFACID I'm ALWAYS interested in learning more, more, more about my fav band of all time. They are #1 of all time best music EVER, which was hard choosing between them & Zeppelin as tops, love both equally, but Pink Floyd is still out there performing in whatever way they can, where Zep gave up the ghost, and pissed me off, lol. :-) Thanks for the heads up, will go add that to my amazon cart now.

  • acid acid acid!!!! blotter orange sunshine!!

  • i'm 16 years old, and have never seen a song like this live and it's probarly never going to happen..... but i'm still hoping that it will cause it will be the greatest moment in my live

  • OOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And David Gilmour's guitar solo is like that piece of hope that still make us keep on going in this sickening fact of life as it sublimate the entire song into something more bearable. It's so true that it hurts and it hurts so much that it's good. That's Pink Floyd's "Time".

  • There are two type of songs that are difficult to listen to. One is really crappy song and other is song like this. It's just so unbearably good as well as unbearably true. It's this "true" part of this song that makes it existentially sickening that it hurts. This song can't be appreciated unless one have experienced the gradual aging of their existence.

  • Why so perfect? I'm sorry for the end. Pink Floyd forever.

  • 5:58 full orgasm!!!

  • Pink Floyd has got to be one of the best bands of all time. Powerful lyrics and an incredible melody and guitar work.

  • I always get chills listening to this...

  • @SapphireSparta I have the same feeling, no matter how many times I hear the song.

  • Pink Floyd Blows My Mind!!!

  • this is for me their best song best lyrics and "the pulse" version is fantastic

"noone told you when to start"

  • very English!

  • io c'ero

  • The first time I remember hearing this was shamefully about 6 months ago. I walked onto my friends porch and was about to knock on the door and I could hear this song jamming from inside his house. I stood there on the porch with chill bumps and tears in my eyes. After I collected myself, I knocked on the door and asked him what song was playing and this was it. When the singing first starts up...gets me every time.

  • eheheheheheheheheheh...rido si rido!!.......xchè tutte le altre canzoni della storia al cospetto d time mi fanno solo ridere....

  • My legs are heavy, There are chills all over my body, and I am unexplainably laughing at everything...and I'm not high... ;)

  • I've loved Pink Floyd Since i was a young girl, this song i want playing at my funeral its my favourite track on the album love dancing to it too

  • Essa música é muito bonita.

  • Hanging on in quiet desparation is the English way

  • uuuff!!!! que banda !!!!!! tremendo el Pink floyd

  • I love the message in this song! They're talking about REAL stuff that happends in life! Not like bands today that all they talk about is satan bullshit or sex or getting drunk! Love Pink Floyd and their messages!

  • Roger Waters was trying to express that some people leave school to a job(s) and work for 10 years and they find all they have done in their free youth is work, they have not got married or gone to places etc. etc. When they realise this they try to make up for it but they are ageing and not of full health/energy as they used to be.

  • 20 years after the recording of the studio version gilmour has the same voice ... amazing...

  • I will never forget this tour.

  • listing to this guitar solo high is one of those life changing moments

  • @Joseflyn69 and listening to it not being high too, i can assure you that

  • @Joseflyn69 Well put.

I still remember the first time I did it. I was only used to weak weed, suddenly I found myself in Vancouver with a joint of the most powerful strain of Kush I've ever seen, a beautiful park full of groovy trees right beside my house and it was night. It was really something, I could differ reality from thought, was a weird feeling I never thought to be possible with weed. Was a total abstraction of reality.

  • @Joseflyn69 You don't need to be high to have a life changing moment when you listen to Pink Floyd.

  • @Joseflyn69 You must have been on some GOOD shit when you typed that man! But a lot of peeps agree with ya!

  • @Joseflyn69 Its sad you cant enjoy the music in a normal mind. You must be a real weak minded person to have to be stoned in order to enjoy.

  • @kentriz182 agreed

  • time kills it, there is no other song like it (im not saying its the best song ever, so dont start flaming me, im just saying its completely different and innovative)

  • @PFloydism

It is very simple, pink floyd the entire group was and STILL are living legends. The set a whole new gerne on the map in there era. I hear sometimes ppl say pfft always same shit, please give your i-pod a throw you're not worth it really.

You like it, or dislike it, but you cannot deny what this group ment for modern day rock/music

  • Richard Wright on vocals :)

  • @J45USER

    RIP :/

  • "And then one day you find ten years have got behind you"

I wonder how they feel singing that knowing that it's happened to them.

  • @peaceplease It happens to all of us!!! One day the years will get behind you too!

  • @peaceplease

i think that will mean that they took the trip long before you and me. If life is about understanding then they did it better that anybody. In any case I don't think they use TIME wastefully! There's always time when you open your eyes, that's what I take from the song. There's never dull to change what you do with your time! Life is short!

  • @peaceplease yes but just look at what they accomplished in those 10yrs that got behind them..the legacy that they leave for us! rock on my friend and savor the perfection!

  • @peaceplease

    I'ts happened to everybody

  • Comment removed

  • @peaceplease well seeing as they have been doing what they love for so many years i would think they can look back and smile

  • @peaceplease At 16 you begin to experience this. It happens with everyone; But tends to be noticed late. To me "Time" is like a message, I am young and my life will be long.

Also "Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death". That's a brutal line. Like the point that ends the sentence.

The lyrics are simply Brilliant! Afterall, they apply to everyone.

I thought DSOTM was overrated, the probelm here is that you must understand it and listen to it well. Once done... It's impressive.

  • @peaceplease They probably wrote it from experience already--but now it's more like 45-50 years!

  • @peaceplease It didn't really. They got to do what they love to do. That lyric was meant, I think, for those who never found thier passion and suddenly find that it might be too late.

  • well, the ones that dislike this song are the ones that like only rap, hip hop, gangsta music, and all that shit music that make young people choose wrong ways in their short life.

  • Believe it or not I was just introduced to PF now, that I'm 40... Of course I'd heard of them and new the one or two most famous songs... but now I stopped to really listen to them.... OMG what a waste of time... I should have learned about their great vibe earlier... the lyrics, the music... really good.

  • That voice man, that voice.

  • The Plane came flying in when I seen Pink Floyd in The Boston Garden in 1976. It was tripping, oh wait, maybe I was......

  • Absolutely no-one can touch Floyd! They are so far and above every other band it isn't even funny.

  • Richard Wright didn't get enough vocal parts throughout Pink Floyd's career... he is very good.

  • untouchable! sheeeer class!

  • whoever found weed... this song and my thanks go out to you.

  • Reminds me so much of Dad...

  • One of the greatest solos

  • This shit gives me the chills

  • INCREDIBLE !!!

  • yes

  • Eu tinha uns 11 anos quando ouvi esta música na casa de uns primos mais velhos. Fiquei completamente chocada, porque nunca tinha ouvido uma melodia como essa. Tão maravilhosa. The time is gone, the song is over, thought I' d something more to say.

  • It makes me cry everytimes!

  • Great Music!

  • @ Green522 I'm half black & I think this song is fuckin amazing. The fact that you relate music to the color of the artist's skin is quite illogical. It has nothing to do with the quality of the music. Btw those "niggers" rapping about prostitutes are doing what they have to do to make money, hence the "nigger" term: "Get it how you live". Racist piece of shit.

  • 20 fãs de Restart não gostam dessa música :D

  • Comment removed

  • @baretis1692 Except he's one of the most known artists and was part of one of the greatest band in history..

    Who are you?

  • just beautiful

  • I saw this show live in Pittsburgh. Most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life!

Sad that there will never be another tour.

  • @engenheiro1986edu

    o quê você quis dizer?

  • still kiekevlees!!

  • what a song....

  • o brasil te espera

  • well ya'll never let me down... i dont care where how or when, ya'll come through. it's all about can-can't, have's-have-not's, ain't enough of this or that, wouldn't 've happened without whoever, ya know what? muthafuck'n ingrate self righteous indignant assholes?, bein' just a small sample of a festering mass stewing in shit...It's like something in a microwave ready ta blow! I hope i'm around for it!

  • this is so amazing.. hard to believe the music thats big these days, must of been good to live in the prime of this band and others, when good music ruled the charts and what not..

  • @jackass534 you dont really know the value of meaningful music until it's gone

  • amazing song

  • who would've thought the lead singer/guitarist of pink floyd would wear a black t-shirt tucked into jeans.

  • @MattSturg Its not called modeling

  • @MattSturg Who cares, did you hear the song?

  • @davidavidavdad i don't even care, it just caught me off guard. they could be wearing suspenders and a thong and i still wouldn't care. they're pink floyd, they're allowed to do whatever the fuck they want.

  • Gilmore's unique sound is not only beautiful, but it adds drama to the whole song. He created his own sound and style, shying away from shredding or fast playing, Indeed it is quality above quantity. He is one of the few who can make a guitar sing, cry, or in his case scream.

  • 5:57 god I wish I was there.

  • 19 people didn't have an eargasm.

  • aw i miss rick :(

  • Rolling Stone listed David Gilmour as the 82ND greatest guitarist. That is an absolute joke.

  • @RichOriginal Who cares about Rolling Stone's lists nowadays? xD

  • @nicomors Not me: you know bob dylan is number six on the best singer list? That's a joke--i sing better than him and i'm really not good

  • @RichOriginal Tom Kaulitz is number 99 on the best guitarist list.. -.-

  • @RichOriginal

    who the f*** are they?

probably dont listen gilmour the wau you do...:)

  • iii lovvee this song sooo much!!

    ~Pink Floyd Forever!~

  • Pink Floyd forever!!! their concerts just seem to be so exciting and thrilling! o how i'd love to go back in time and see Pink Floyd in concert!

    R.I.P. Syd Barrett

  • Closest we can come to this mastery now is TOOL. If you haven't seen them live, check it out.

  • i wish i was born like 30 years earlier than my birth date !.. just to live this music when it was trendy.... waiting for the next album of pink floyd !.. listening to "stairway to heaven" for the first time !.. hearing news that deep purple made a new song called "soldier of fortune" !... you can't imagine how disappointing is that all the music i like is from the past, this feeling of not waiting for something good new to happen.

  • Gilmour is one of the 3 reasons that my first guitar was a Fender Strat; Clapton and Hendrix are the other two.

  • @krozareq ;

  • Second that man!

By the way what colour is yours?

Mine is Black with a black pickboard Gilmour style.

  • wow! listening to this solo gives me goosbumps

  • Masterpiece

  • They sound great live.

  • mt bom ..Pink Floyd a maior banda do mundo..sempre..ninguem nunca fez uma melodia dessas, a uma harmonia entre todos da banda..perfeito

  • I was lucky enough to get tickets to the concert in Oslo in '88..and it was really a memory for life.. This is good music...I discovered PF back in 1973..when i heard the albums Ummagumma ,Atom Heart Mother and Meddle.......and they really gave my music interest a good start...but then came Dark side...and i was lost...... :D

  • encore un petit chef d'oeuvre, un album qui tient encore le route apres tant d'années, la musique pink floyd est intemporelle!

  • pink floyd+me high=epic experiance

  • This song won't be devoured by it's name, that's for sure.

With every decade Pink Floyd is just more timeless.

  • its time to rest my weary bones besides the fire.

i have their cds and their music is great.

    chud1able

  • In 1975 I watched this band at Knebworth, performing this song, I was young and life was long, I loved it then and looking back I love it even more now. Of course Floyd will never perform to this level again but if you ever get a chance, go and see Aussie Floyd, I'm not normally a big fan of tribute bands but they are different class, a true tribute to the real deal.

  • How can you not like this? epicest band alive to date

  • @Lucifer986 Hehe thank you. So what is hip hop music? what is rap? To be honest its your opinion that hip hop is the most interesting genre of music...

  • The 18 people who dislike this are deaf, dumb, and blind.

  • @TheListMaker1 But they sure play a mean pinball.

  • @TheListMaker1 & they just keep on pretending.

  • @TheListMaker1 Just like the character Tommy, created by the Who

  • Io c'ero...

  • that shit must be the coolest animation they ever saw

    and horrible camera man..

  • that shit must be the coolest animation they ever saw

  • You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today, And then one day you find, ten years had got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. From the brightest mynd in rock history, Roger Waters.Just wordefull.

  • Ticking away music that makes up music.

  • coolest job on earth. where else could you wear a T-shirt and jeans and make a $1mil a night?

  • the 18 plus people who dislike this is either deaf or downloading gaga to there ipod so what they think doesnt matter

  • YayeH!!

  • Gosh I hate the sound of a strat, haha. I came here to see what all the buzz is about with the 'Gilmour tone omgz' and it is not amazing to me. Sure, it sounds great and he is a great player, but eh it's not for me. I love my big muff but I'm glad I don't sound like this. :P Anyways, cheers.

  • Comment removed

  • @GhostOfAE /watch?v=JyDwT-z9Id0 if that tone isnt good enough for you, you must be a steve vai fan

  • @trevable Actually I don't like Vai either. Although talented, he's too much of a showboat for me, and I think his music is weird. :P I listen to christian rock, and I use my muff for anything from lead breaks to pretty stuff to rhythm. I use a singlecut with big strings tuned to drop C and crank it through some compression and a Marshall. The solo in the link doesn't do it for me either, when I take breaks with my SC it sounds nothing like that, thank goodness. ;)

  • @GhostOfAE U gotta be JOKING! David Gilmour is THE STRATOCASTER MASTER!

  • @droidekabakugan1986 I didn't say I don't respect him as a guitarist, I just said that I am glad I don't sound like him. I think people get too caught up in emulating other people... and also I hate strats with a passion.

  • Great song. So many good memories.

  • ...What I'm trying to say is...Out of this world!!! David Gilmour must be seen as one of the great artists of the past 50 years! How can we not love this song!?
