  • This is from '99 or 2000. Clapton and Whitlock had not performed together in decades leading up to this.

  • So what if he didn't write the songs?

He is the only person on Earth to make it sound as great as it does.

    Eric Clapton is the Man

  • ...Though.........you will NEVER see me with another lover!!!!!!

  • Played with and opened up for Bobby a couple of times in Huntsville a few years ago. Those were long nights at catfish's house on Monte Sano. Bobby is crazy as a shithouse rat but he really brings it on piano and guitar both. He sings with GREAT soul. The girlfriend he had at the time took really good care of him.

  • Clapton is a racist scumbag!

  • This song always takes me back...... waaay back.

  • the soul of Derek & tyhe Dominoes was Bobby........God Love him, he is tremendous!

  • rockerface23 For christs sake do your homework before posting!

  • Bobby Whitlock lays it on the line when he sings...he's never gotten his due.

Loved this video. He's also great in a backup role in the Derek & The Dominoes on the Johnny Cash show video.

  • my favorite eric clapton song.

  • @shewatchme ummmmmm........... this is derek and the dominoes

eric clapton was the guitarist for them and he didnt write most of it

    sorry pal

  • @rockerface23 Eric was lead guitarist and singer for the band, though it's true he didn't write most songs. In face he wrote two songs of the album ( Layla etc, etc) Himself. Bobby wrote one. now the other 11 songs were group effords, most being from Eric and Bobby both or covers from blues standards. That's the homework. Layla and Bell Bottom blues are both written by Eric, he dedicated them to Patty Boyd who was George Harrison's wife then. Bobby wrote Thorn tree in the Garden.

  • @Darkpietje So whats the point? Clapton was there.

  • @rockerface23 ummmmm eric clapton did write this song... so what if eric was the guitarist? would that prevent him from writing this song.. he is the writer of this song just as layla.. sorry pal..

  • Love this,it is amazing.Such feeling is very rare in a song these days.

  • THE MASTER,forget modern technology which is false and makes you sound better, makes you something you are not,Clapton is GOD on a guitar

  • Never heard Bobby Whitlock singing.

Very nice voice and tons of feeling.

    Great, great song!

    * * * * *

  • @roby62gtr you have heard him singing if you have ever listened to Derek and The Dominos.

  • I know Bobby from when he was living in Muscle Shoals Al. Good guy, great player.. I wanted to cut with him soo freaking bad! and then he had some personal issues with a local idiot and moved to Austin..

Bobby.. If you ever look at these things.. I'll be passing through Texas sometime this summer.. It'd be good to see you CoCo again.

  • He may not be the best player but has written lots of good songs and interpreted others to perfection. While Hendrix songs are unheardable nowadays.

He is definitively one of the best artists of the XX century

  • im watching this song right now on BBC3 on a documentary of clappton its brilliant

  • hee he sings great!!!!!

  • derek and the dominos..........one of the best albums of all time!!!
