I was astonished that (after acting like an entitled little brat) Astro was not sent home. He's been in his own world acting like he's all that and a bag of chips since day one. I agree with you, Robert, the stage is not the place to disrespect the people that voted FOR him by acting as if he didn't need to perform, when his feelings were hurt by the ones that voted FOR the other contestants. But I suppose Stacy's performance wasn't as good as Astros and based on that alone Simon did right.

can you expalin why you think Stacy Frncis went from being brilliant before the live shows to a constantly off pitch singer? she nailed every note on purple rain, heaven and on the live shows she got worse and worse, it ended up horrible.

@krisuk333 I really wish I could explain such a transformation but I'm pretty sure Purple Rain wasn't sung live (and neither were any of the other vocals from the Judges Houses). IMO

Astro is Kanye West in the making ,his attitude sucks.I think the only reason the judges kept him is because they don't want Stacy to mess up the chance of their contestants to go home .Stacy is a good singer although I don't personally like her style.

@robertantonnyc :) :) Those judges are out there to win. Why else would the pick Astro over Stacy.Stay had 2 consecutives weak performances,but she did great for her last performance against Astro.Astro didn't want to be there why keep him.

@shannon360ify I love Stacy, but it makes better business sense to keep Astro in the competition. I'm sure there are lots and lots of young and older hip hop fans watching the show, that otherwise wouldn't bother, just to see him perform and hoping he'll win. On the other hand, Melanie, Rachel, Chris, Marcus, and Leroy can easily take in Stacy's fans.

Yea, but I see reports and speaking as different things as opposed to performing on live tv and possibly sounding bad..I'm in the process of getting a mic for my computer so I can test it out and see if I have a worthy singing voice. I can sing on key, but I don't know if it sounds good. :P

If I would be on his position I would give my best in my last performance and wait for the judges results, I think Astro is a little brat and this could be the beginning of his end on the show. I don't like his attitude. I think Stacey blew it with Amazing Grace, if she should have sung a song the way she auditioned or in the judges home week she could have stayed. Anyways I think the bottom two should have been Stacey and Chris, with this last one going home.

@jwipe There's some drama behind that lowest votes quote even now. Dial Idol has a different set of numbers. Do you think they're believable?

@robertantonnyc I believe the voting 100% - Dialidol is not a good source any more, especially with online voting added to the mix. Producers manipulate with orders, lighting, and PR, and judges manipulate with their comments. I don't believe voting would be fixed - too much at stake if it were uncovered.  The only manipulation they can do is throwing out questionable bot voting.

@robertantonnyc oh I just looked at dialidol (hadn't seen it before). Keep in mind the margin of error they already have built in. Anything in yellow is not safe, so that order can be completely different even by their own admission. Only green is "guaranteed" safe

I was highly confused about Astro being in the bottom two. You can usually tell who is going home by the amount of views on their YouTube videos, and followers on Twitter and Astro has a great deal of support and had the most views on his performance videos on the x factor page as well as the most followers on twitter out of all the contestants. He also mentioned things aren't what they seem and we don't know what goes on behind the scenes so it makes you wonder what's really going on...

I think that's why so many ppl become Divas and surround themselves with Yes Men/Women; but this is definitely a different era where we're also seen as a dime a dozen just cause everybody can get up and do karaoke. Hopefully he'll learn to put on his game face and give the people a show no matter what.

First of all Anton, I am in no way convinced that Astro was in the bottom two. I would bet money that it was a set-up for drama. I can't stand the kid, but that was an unfair emotional ride to put him through. I do, however, believe that Stacy was at the very bottom. Her demise was inevitable because of the contrast of her tears/victimization act with her actual resume. After exposure in the blogs, she became very unpopular and then there are her sloppy vocals.

@robertantonnyc Oh no, I don't think it was a risk at all. I suspect the idea was to get rid of Stacy no matter how poorly Astro did. I've seen it on Idol too - where inevitably the frontrunner is placed in the bottom 2 ALL OF A SUDDEN.

These shows are about millions of dollars in ad revenue - it's as cutthroat as Wall Street. They ain't thinkin' bout dem singers.

@robertantonnyc Basically, on Idol for instance, I suspect that they send home the person who got the lowest votes but I think they often they mess around with the second to last. For example, I think the bottom two was actually JHUd and LaToya as opposed to JHud and Fantasia.

Part 2

Most of her mistakes are only audible to musicians but she became so unpopular that any and everyone felt qualified to critique her singing.

I think Stacy and Dakato Rain were at the bottom. I also believe the producers' trajectory is to land Astro in the top 2. He's poised for that position. These shows are as fake as politics. I'd still like to see LeRoy or Josh win.

BTW, I wonder if LeRoy's flub was planned too. Watch it again.

Do I think Stacy is in on it? No. I don't think Astro was either. I, do however, think LeRoy was in on that flub - that's harmless though. I think Stacy chose Amazing Grace because as a musician, she's always made wonky choices - her approach to singing - you know I've never been a fan. Still, I felt bad for her tonight - ESPECIALLY when she started Amazing Grace in the wrong key.

robert, I didn't see the show tonight, boooooo, but it was for a good reason. I'm an Astro fan, but I think he's gonna get picked up whether he wins this or not. LA is definitely gonna hang on to him. He's young and he hasn't learned to handle rejection yet. He's been so consistent that he didn't see this coming. BUT....I guarantee you he will think next time. Personally I think his performance was better than Chris' but....hey, we know that not everyone can win.

@ambrea01 yes, his was better than Chris but I think ppl have bonded with Chris and are rooting for him due to his storyline. Hopefully his mentor and parents will talk to him and relate the error of his ways, and he'll be smarter for it next time; but I wouldn't be surprised if he's in the bottom 2 again next week (and goes home). wouldn't surprise me at all.

Keeps you from even thinking about turning the channel. It happens on Idol almost every year - the frontrunner gets put in the bottom two, etc.

I was in disbelief when he was asking LA Reid whether or not he should perform and when he said that he doesn't feel like competing when he's not appreciated. He should realize that he has many fans. He has the most followers on Twitter than all the other contestants. I hope he's not sent home next week...
