Proton should not bother to spend any cash on safety features. If dumb Malaysians can't understand that seatbelts save lifes then what hope does proton have improving it's mortality rate. It makes me sick to see kids jumping around cars unrestrained just waiting to be fired out the front window. When will these people learn that kids need to be restrained in cars. The government is to blame. Traffic laws are only advisory in KL, unless of course the officer is hungry. Then you need to pay up.

Hi a typical malaysian earn an average of 2000-3000 a month and thats includes fresh graduates!!!. And the chepeast proton car 1.5 is 36k and that the small proton saga.. U think we r happy? I want a volvo s40 that cost 168k, but is too expensive. Australian car Holden commodore cost 32k for a V8 engine!!!and average aussie earn 4-5 k a month.The volvo s40 in au only cost 65k. Mate, what do you mean by larger? Size-wise and in terms of engine capacity the Impian and Avensis are very similar. And mind you, the Fiesta is "smaller" than the Impian in both respect.

Quality sucks. whether its a rm30k wira or 70k GTI, they both sucks to the max.Quality is like crap its becoming a joke...driving a Japanese make now...no issue watsoever....Proton is Mahathirs joke. Another fool of malaysian controlling vehicle is government control another car maker like Perodua is prohibition of making sedan. If no competition, Proton will stay 'Goyang Kaki' because they know Malaysian likes sedan which Proton didn't research for better quality due to no competition. Currently Perodua still cannot make any sedan cars due to Proton protection.

Malaysian complaining because the government increases imported car taxes which have higher quality/safety (3x higher if I'm not mistaken).
Local Protons have lower quality compared to exported Protons = Malaysian are using the worst products with higher prices - spare parts are even worst in terms of quality!
They cant even make their own nut n bolt. (Is there any nut n bolt factory in Malaysia? - I think that's basic 101 in manufacturing)

I learned that proton cars being sold in European countries are of higher standard and of better qualities (due to stricter regulations on the road) than the one sold in Malaysia. So the one being tested by Jeremy should be the one of the better qualities. But if this one with better qualities couldn't even pass the crash test, imagine the one being sold in Malaysia.
