RC is hella good and a nice person. But Honda Os the way to go, I have that same bike. I have ridden every brand of bike. Honda is the fastest, but suspension needs to be tweaked to be perfect. Yamaha has control, kawasaki needs to be a lil bit faster but rides good. Suzuki has a good throttle response but need the motor to back it up but is still a good bike. KTM is a good bike for acceleration, and a light bike.

If youre doing valve jobs almost as many times as youre changing oil, whoever your mechanic is should be fired. Honda's are bullet proof. If you know what youre doing. If you dont, well youre just gonna tear it up no matter what it is.

@tm450r I disagree, I've had my crf 450 now for almost 2 years and haven't done a valve job yet. I love it. Yeah, you gotta keep the oil changed and air filter clean, but you gotta do that with all the new 4 strokes. All in all, its the best bike I've owned so far.

@martinduenas the x has a cam designed for more low to mid. The x also has a wide gear ratio, a stand, and a different exhaust. Those are the main differences i may be forgetting a few small things. Power difference is noticable (R has more power obviously) but its not a very big difference.

They are built by service honda. They take a brand new cr500 engine, port it and shave the head and drop it in a new crf450 frame. It can not be touched plain and simple.

you cant simply compare engines in order of how good they are, it doesnt work like that. yamaha didnt change their engine that much because why change the winning formula? honda's older 4 strokes were awful on valve movement. yamaha produce quality 4 strokes and their 2 strokes are like NO other.

Now for the 4-strokes.. The Yami is hands down the most reliable, not sure about the new 2010 because they changed the bike up and it looks powerful. The Honda is hands down most powerful, I've ridden them and they never stop pulling, bottom to top strong as hell.

I should be getting a dirt bike soon. I am very good at driving things, never tried a dirt bike before though. I have had pocket bikes and 1 electronic dirt bike. I'm not worried about falling off or not being able to like ride it. It is the fact of going from a bike to a dirt bike and how much air i will get. They just go so high. When i fall off my bike on a jump i just get up, because it is like maybe 5 ft of air. But dirt bikes get like 20-40. How can i overcome this fear?
If your more about pit riding then go with the 250R it's not so much of a grunt, it's still has balls! but it's not as much so you can controll it better then goin up to the jump, but if you like trail and road and shit like that just hallin wheelies, go with the 450, there beasts!!

@smokey6859 More power?....The 4 pokes need double the engine size to make equal power. The 1989 cr250 (yes that old model) makes more power stock for stock than the 2010 crf250. 8.7 more ot be exact. The newer model 2 strokes make even more than the newest 4 stroke. Thats why i will never ride a 4 poker.

Leaking fork seals have nothing to do with Honda, it has to do with actually jumping something bigger than 2 feet, something youve probably never done. Engine cases breaking? But if you want to get technical your "sss" forks and our 'aos" forks are basically the same thing but Yami has rights to the sss name so honda cant use that. you cant simply compare engines in order of how good they are, it doesnt work like that. yamaha didnt change their engine that much because why change the winning formula? honda's older 4 strokes were awful on valve movement. yamaha produce quality 4 strokes and their 2 strokes are like NO other.

Yamaha makes some sick 2-strokes, you can't argue with that.
Now for the 4-strokes.. The Yami is hands down the most reliable, not sure about the new 2010 because they changed the bike up and it looks powerful. The Honda is hands down most powerful, I've ridden them and they never stop pulling, bottom to top strong as hell.

I should be getting a dirt bike soon. I am very good at driving things, never tried a dirt bike before though. I have had pocket bikes and 1 electronic dirt bike. I'm not worried about falling off or not being able to like ride it. It is the fact of going from a bike to a dirt bike and how much air i will get. They just go so high. When i fall off my bike on a jump i just get up, because it is like maybe 5 ft of air. But dirt bikes get like 20-40. How can i overcome this fear?

If your more about pit riding then go with the 250R it's not so much of a grunt, it's still has balls! but it's not as much so you can controll it better then goin up to the jump, but if you like trail and road and shit like that just hallin wheelies, go with the 450, there beasts!!
