Honestly, the concept of this is fantastic. Though, its batteyr life is quite bad for a tablet. I'd just LOVE to install Ubuntu 11.10 on this. If Dell can improve the batteyr life, I'd get it pronto.

After getting computers and laptops with Dell, HP, and Compaq.... I'm not getting any of their items. I always have to replace my laptop every 2 years. This is a nice idea, to flip it around, the guy could have showed more what it could do though like... does it have a magnetic pen? Show us college kids how we could use it. Acer/Asus/Sony/Toshiba/Mac are good brands. They have never let me down.

Ok, I jsut received mine.

1. In the beginning it runs slow: Fix. I called Support and what he basiclly did was reduce the amoutn of processes on it. (100 processes on this thing..) Thats too much for it. on a dual core...Some things are jsut unessesary

2. The paint program on the tablet....I am still trying to change that one for Windows Paint because Its too kiddy for me.

3. People have high expectations for this....quiet frankly it is a netbook, dont expect much. Until they make laptops

What ever you need for a computer just get the IPad. The duo is so bad! I have one and I am not using it to write this comment because it crashed! I had it for about 2 weeks and now it doesn't work. The tablet experience is horrible too. It has no apps and the stage it launches in tablet mode is just some shortcuts and are not made for a touch screen at all. I WAS going to buy this until I found out that you CAN'T change the battery. You have to send it back to DELL and who knows WHAT they would put in there as DELL has a history of being Horrible with batteries. Innovative or not- that IS an important feature! Sorry DELL try again!

If you go to their forums you will find that DELL cs is known for treating their customers like babies, and dropping them on their heads regularly. Rarely will you hear about someone that actually had a good cs experience. As far as the netbook, I never thought I would say "DELL" and "Innovative" in the same sentence.From an engineering point of view that hinged design looks much sturdier and more reliable than standard nettab designs. For durability purposes alone it is worth a look.

1. the hinge looks a bit flimsy and would be the point at which the screen bears the most stress

2. when in 'laptop mode' you can see between the gaps in the screen, and while this is purely an aesthetic hinderance I think it would still be pretty off-putting when working on a project.

@funnytourtoise Have you experienced the standard swivel design in current nettabs? Those things are extremely fragile and a nightmare to repair. They also loosen up when you least expect it. This design "seems" to be sturdier and it locks the screen in place, solving a few of those wear and tear issues.It's still going to be fragile, no way around that. I'm wondering if the gaps you mentioned were by design or he just didn't flip 100%.
