Hotel Mario is a great game if you like clumsy controls, monotonous gameplay, and weird cutscenes.

If you like Hotel Mario, I recommend the Zelda CD-i games. They also feature the classic sluggish CD-i controls plus some very memorable FMV cutscenes, mah boi! Zelda's Adventure lacks the animated FMV but trades them for excessive load times and especially awful gameplay. Memorable cutscenes are performed by particularly talentless Zelda LARPers.

Just out of curiosity, have you actually played this?

Hotel Mario isn't really my kind of game and it's not helped by the sloppy controls. I finished Wand of Gamelon about a week ago and I need a break from the CD-i. Oddly enough, creepy CD-i cutscenes are a great way to motivate you to keep playing these horrible games.

But i saw lots of internet reviews and i can say that the games not seemed nothing attractive....

For me at least....

From what i saw,the zelda CD-I games looks like that 80's cartoon and not pass the clime of "adventure" that the other zeldas pass.

And the controls looks pretty anoying too,like,you try to open your inventory and enter a door acidentally,things like that..

Hotel mario..i dont know...a puzzle game with him its just weird.

Mah boi, this CD-i is what all true nerds strive for!

The CD-i's basic, underpinning issue (besides a shitty game library) is control. It's delayed, clumsy, and has problems with multiple commands. I've never encountered anything else like it. Say you're playing a game. You're punching something and then you hit jump.

On any other console: You jump and keep punching.

On the CD-i: You keep punching but stand still. About 10% of the time, it works correctly as above.

The sad thing? The Zelda CD-i games are middle of the road and Hotel Mario is one of the better games on the console. If you really want a good CD-i game, the only options are FMV games. Burn Cycle, a Sci-Fi FMV game, was good enough that it got ported to the PC. The bad CD-i games? They're about 80% of the library and many of them are even worse than the "gutter games" for the NES like Jekyll and Hyde or anything from LJN.

I remember purchasing this game and playing it back in 1994... When I beat this game and was told by Mario, Luigi, and Peach that I was the "best player ever," I was so happy. I was actually led to beleive that I was the best player of all video games; I felt unstoppable.
