In 1948, Israel declared a state on a land that belonged to Palestinians who were forcibly driven out of their homes and villages. It was a legitimate war to liberate occupied land, not a random act of aggression like you try to portray it.

I'm with a 2-state solution based on the 1967 borders even though I believe that's a huge compromise for the Arabs who lived in that land and ruled until the British came and occupied. And I mentioned to you before that losses are not only measured in souls and blood, but also it includes financial and material losses. The Palestinians lost land, crops, structures, and an entire economy and the right to prosper in their own state.

East Jerusalem is a problem. This city was established by King David, who wasn't a Palestinian, I guess. No one in Israel will be able to give away this city. I just remind you that Israel captured these lands from Jordan and Syria, not from Palestinians, so as a result Israel can decide what land to leave, and what to give away. Anyway, there are politicians for that.

The issue is not about religion, but about stealing land that belongs to others and driving them out. Refugees must be compensated if not given back what rightfully belongs to them.

Regardless, the whole idea was promoted by the Israeli state, but is actually false. Fear of arbitrary executions and massacres by Jewish gangs and armed settlers contributed more to the escape of Arabs from their land.

You talking about Arabs being generous, I doubt. In 1948 Israel proclaimed it's independency with no borders. Arabs attacked and killed 6,700 Jews (2,400 out of this number are civilians. And 4,000 gangs, as you call ha'agana members, who defended Israel from Arab aggression. Just in one war more than in all intifadas). Everybody tend to forget this.

In 1948, Israel declared a state on a land that belonged to Palestinians who were forcibly driven out of their homes and villages. It was a legitimate war to liberate occupied land, not a random act of aggression like you try to portray it.

Not only people who own parts of that land who are still alive this day in countries like Jordan, but Jewish people themselves!! There have been several Israeli documentaries about this (like House), and there are scholars like Ilan Pappe and Benny Morris who also say so.

hnassif, I don't have that much time to conversation, so this is my last one. Irrelevant, that's a great word! There are Israelis and Palestinians living right now on this land. The border already exists. There is a demographical division, forget 1967. Obviously, cities like Maale Adumim, and Ariel are under Israeli control because they are big, and nobody will depart jews from there.

I'm with a 2-state solution based on the 1967 borders even though I believe that's a huge compromise for the Arabs who lived in that land and ruled until the British came and occupied. Israel will never agree to a fair 2-state solution because the only fair 2-state solution means giving East Jerusalem to the Arabs and compensating the millions of Arab refugees who belong to land inside of Israel.

Israelies didn't completely withdraw their troops from Gaza, and even when they did, they closed down the borders including sea and still control the water resources. Gaza is overpopulated with Palestinian refugees who really belong inside of Israel where their land was taken away from them in the 40's.

Israel accepted the 2 state solution in it's declaration of independance, so don't try to turn this one around. Arabs didn't. Noone was deported in 1948, due to this fact there are more than a million Israeli arabs right now in Israel.

That's the main difference between Israelis and Palestinian terrorists, who target especially innocent people with their barbaric suicide attaks. Imbalance in deaths come from that fact that Israelis prevent 9 out of 10 bombings, if no that Israel would drawn in blood, and even with that it still high. By the way, Americans napalmed entire villages in Vietnam, for only suspect of resistance. Israel uses mostly target killings of terrorists.

However, there are no maniacs in Israel who call themself "resistance", strap 25 kilo of explosives with nails and go to blow up a kindergarten. All innocent palestinians killed as a result of missfire, or as a bystanders. Noone in IDF get orders to shoot children, or civilians.

Of course Israelies don't do that, they have no reason to do this. However, Palestinians for generations have been growing up in an occupied terretory under a suffocating form of foreign dictatorship. Also, if Israel didn't receive all the aid it does from the US, the IDF won't have the means necessary to gather proper intellegence or strike only combatants, attacking civilians will be a very easy option to take.

This "most generous offer" also failed to compensate the millions of Palestinian refugees. Basically, Israel who had everything it already needs and more, didn't compromise the least bit to the Palestinians, who really have nothing to offer to begin with.

That offer was not for a Palestinian state, it didn't really offer the Palestinians anything new than telling them that they can call their occupied terrotiries a state. No settlement dismantling, no control over borders, air space or even water resources. Palestinians would still have to go through Israeli checkpoints in their own "country".

It's also interesting that you speak of compromise. Today, Israel occupies the other side's land, not the other way around. And the cause/effect relationship is such that violence is the result of occupation, not the other way around which is what Israel would like to have the world think. Israel demonstrated its inability to seriously offer a good compromise for peace when they called the Camp David offer their "most generous offer". I think that was a fatal mistake.

I'm also glad that you mentioned that no Palestinian country existed during the British mandate, because no Israel country existed either, and Israel refused the UN resolution for a 2-state plan. And regarding population figures, 367'000 Jewish people immigrated to the land from outside between 1921 and 1945, while more than half a million Palestinians became refugees immediately following the establishment of Israel.

When I spoke about the imbalance in numbers I was not only referring to the period for which I provided numbers in my previous comments. Also I wasn't only referring to deaths. One must count injuries, loss of land, homes and livelihood. I have yet to hear of an Israeli who had their house destroyed by Palestinian bulldozers. In just the last few years, thousands of Palestinian homes in occupied terretories were illegally (even by Israel's own law) demolished.

Also, hnassif don't bother yourself with British mandate 60 years ago. The Palestinian state didn't exist at that time, and the people who lived here didn't call themself palestinians before sixties. That was the British colony with limited permit for immigration for Jews who looked for refuge. They turned the sands of the desert into the blossom country. If you mention the British mandate, you doubt the existence of the State of Israel at all.

There's no disputing the fact that both Israelies and Palestinians have lost innocent people over the years, but the numbers on the Palestinian side caused by Israeli violation of their human rights and international law simply reach stratospheric levels when compared to the numbers on the Israeli side.

After the first intifada in the end of 80' beginning of 90'. Palestinans got the authonomy under the Arafat govt on all occupied lands. Instead of fighting Hamas and Islamic Jihad, who swear to Israel's destruction, he stole millions of funds, and started the bloodbath (2nd intifada).
Most of palestinians killed during the fighting are terrorists, and some are civilians, who were in fighting areas. Most of killed Israelis are civilians who were blown up in buses, and restaurants.

1948 State of Israel was established by te majoriy of UN voters. There was 2 states solution accepted by Jews and rejected by Arabs, who started the war right away!
In 1967 Israel had captured the "territories" from Jordan and Gaza from Egypt. The local population wasn't deported. This is the way palestinians came to existence.
