first of all the gt3s arent even turbo charged and the get 420hp and u can get them up to 1500hp,the only porsches that are turbo charged are the gt2 and the 911 turbo....and ur calling the porsche engin tired ass? hahahaha thats funny...i love the viper my cousin got one but i wouldnt compare it to a porsche, and viper is the only american car i would take the rest of them suck!!!!

Nice video but to whomever thinks the Porsche is turbocharged and makes 415hp is nuts. It soudns like a GT3, says so on the title. It's N/A and can outhandle a Viper on any condition. GT3 is already a street legal race car.

Both are delicious machines. That being said, the Viper may be quick in some track situations but they aren't exactly known for their handling. In a high-speed, possibly slippery situation, I'd rather be in the Porsche thankyouverymuch.

The Viper is more than able to hold it's own on a race track, look at it's track record. The Dodge Viper holds the FIA GT record for most wins of any other car except the prototypes, it has 3 consecutive GT2 wins at Le Mans. For the 24 hours of Nurburgring they actually forced team Zakspeed to limit the Viper's V10 down to a V8 because the other cars couldn't keep up, don't say the Viper can't handle.

I am not sure where you are getting your information from, but it is wrong. Stock the Viper handles very well. The only reason why people think the Viper cannot handle is because inexperienced drivers. The Viper is a car that you must learn to drive, and you must essentially learn to drive with no electronic assistance. Believe me, I have seen and know quite a few Viper owners who track their cars on a regular basis, both on road courses and autocross, and the car is exceptionally nimble.

I don't know what version GT3 was in this video, but the 2007 997 GT3 is a sick car...and for those that don't know, it is a track car, not a straight line car...it *only* runs the 1/4 in 12 secs flat. On a road course, it will eat the viper alive...it won't even be close

I still think you need to keep racing on the track. Yes I was a kid once. The second car I had was a '23 T with a 350 hp engine and it weighed 1600 lbs. This was in 1964. It would beat any thing but a Veryon today. I have seen enough dead and injured people from street racing to make me give up street racing. I still drag my old beat up body and car to the track every chance I get. I was there today. Had a blast!

Hahah! That is funny. With a 3.6 Liter N/A engine, the 996 GT3 was keeping up with the 7.0+ liter Viper. Not to mention Viper has cheap build quality and POS interior. In the corners the GT3 will spank a Viper any day of the week. Classic example of inefficient engineering. Mind you, the 997 GT3 makes 40 more HP and is 0.5 seconds faster than the 996 in this video. The 997 GT3 would have even made it worse for the viper.

You just saw a 10 year old viper beat 2-3 year old GT3 not just win but walked him completely. Hell I have videos of 10 year old stock vipers on street tires destroying 997GT3 using slicks on the tracks. So yes you can pay 140k for a Gt3 with 415HP or 84k for a 600HP/560torq viper. And I gaurentee you itll destroy the GT3 on the track infact test after test it does.

@dcsdr That's a 996 GT3 and has about 381hp, it has a flat-6 N/A boxer engine without turbo. The only GT3 that has 415hp is the 1gen 997, and again it doesn't have turbo.

If a sportscar's interior is anymore than a Viper's, I wouldn't want to pay for it. Steering wheel, pedals, shifter, speed and tach, seat that's all you need. Looks are opinion, Viper looks great to me, finally, the Viper is no imitation, it lives on circuits to win.
