someone removed a heat shield and didnt put it back on. not a shitty car....a shitty dealer. and theyd pay for it if it were mine. it sux gm took a bailout. but it wasnt because of team corvette. that team of engineers is awesome. they pull there weight....its shitty companies like buick and saturn and as much as i hate to say pontiac....designing heavy cars with over hyped horserpower numbers and terrible designs. and bad if any reliability. but i have two and i love them. i just got good ones

Fiberglass may work on boats but thats one thing. Not the best idea in the world of cars. Cant do shit for work on the damage, just have to replace the whole thing its cheaper than patching. And when you're in a collision, what the hell is protecting anything and anybody in it. Nothing but a good looking weak ass crumbling shell. Gotta love the classic muscle cars...and the classic corvettes. Don't care for the ZO6.  Love the Stingrays. Body metal cant be beaten by cheap looks. Glad the guys ok.

I bet the owner parked in the grass, and the exhaust caught the grass on fire, burning the car. It happens alot when people park in their yard, or on the side of the road. The exhaust on those cars is low enough to touch the grass of a fresh mowed lawn. You got to watch out for that when owning a low vehicle. People that never owned a sports car don't know this, and end up burning their new car.

He just had some exhaust work done and they did a poor job on it which caused the fire. I forget the whole story, but it was due to the aftermarket exhaust installed incorrectly.
