These men organized the first pentecastal General Assembly of the "Church Of God In Christ" (COGIC) Elder C. H. Mason was unanimously as General Overseer. They were called Overseers then and later changed to Bishop by Bishop J. O. Patterson in 1964.

  • YES LORD!!!!!!

  • "God in Jesus Christ cast the devil out and heal the sick" that in essence is the Name of Jesus! Hallelujah!! Woman, Jesus you! (That is Jesus name in utter truth!!) How did Trinitarian Pentecostal and Apostolic Pentecostal get it so twisted. Mason is praying like Seymour!!

  • Omg!!!!!!!! YOU KNOW HOW LONG I BEEN LOOKING FOR PRAYERS BY BISHOP...THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!

  • OMG!!!!!!!

  • Bishop Ford was ordained a Bishop in either 1952-53, He was the Bishop of IOWA before starting Central Illinois now 1st Jurisdiction..Bishop Mason just called all of them Elders, even if they was Bishops in this great church

  • @rondell922 i think that bishop mason called them elders because that's what they were.. mason himself was called elder mason by the old timers. the COGIC he was over was not organizationally the same as the one that exists today.. J.O.Patterson turned it into an ecclassiastical organization around 64 when he was exec. secretary with all the pomp and ceremony. it was originally congregational in form... no prelates but a senior bishop. the office of bishop was literally the senior elder.

  • @oldschoolsituationz u hit the nail on the head....

  • yes, that was Bishop L. H. Ford who was a Bishop of the church at that time who introduced Bishop Mason.

  • @ApostleJD2 you're not COGIC enough to make these comments.LOL. Bishop L H Ford was the founder and pastor of St. Pauls COGIC in Chicago il. Bishop C H Mason is the founder and senior bishop at this time. Elder Charles Mason Ford is now the pastor of the church where this recording is taken at.

  • @whatchuwatchingjoe, This is from 1955. Bishop L.H. Ford organized the Central IL diocese in that year, so he could have concievably been an elder still in that time. This is a recording from L.H. Ford's radio broadcast.

  • you can just feel it through the screen.what a great time in church history.

  • @ivanberry19 Yes it is, I am going to play this loud in my house.

  • Yes, that's Bishop LH Ford. This is awesome!

  • I wonder if Pastor Ford was Bishop LH Ford? Do you know what year this was?

  • So powerful!!!!
