I am a "chick" who is vehemently anti-chick-flick, and this guy just explained my feelings towards chick flicks with near perfection... only thing he left out was the annoyingly massive amount of suspension of disbelief such movies demand, and the fact that there are too many stupid girls out there who watch these movies and honestly believe that reality works that way. I can't help it... romantic comedies grate on my nerves... X-)

Give me Gladiator, Hurt Locker, Blackhawk Down, Billy Elliot...oh....and Princess Bride might fit into this catagory, but only loosely....and it's okay to watch it because of the epic writing.....

Romantic Comedies are terrible by definition. If there's one thing in the world that should be taken seriously (and there's very little), it's LOVE. People who make or enjoy Romantic Comedies hate LOVE and possibly hate comedy too.
The world of art would greatly benefit from this genre's demise. What I meant to say is, FUCK THESE MOVIES.
