Thanks so much for the video. I am also taking RT and our daughter asks what its like. Never thought of doing what you did with the video. But thankyou. She now gets what daddy does everyday for 5 1/2 weeks. Mine is colon cancer. You are exactly right when you heisitate and don't know what to say because if you are not in the situation it is very hard to explain. Also coodoes to you for saying that if you just lie down you will die. Thanks again for the video and God bless you.
hehe, thank you for posting. I hope you're doing well as it's now 2 years later. My dad begins chemo & radiation for rectal cancer on Monday so I'm doing some ''homework," as it were. Very informative and I admire your attitude and sense of humor in this situation which, judging from my dad, I can tell is life altering and scary as all hell.....peace and love to you and all those afflicted by the damn disease, directly or indirectly.
You can actually see the effects of the radiation treatment on the camera in the form of random blue specs while the machine is radiating, and that is why the staff leave the room! Interesting video from a down to earth guy, hope you are better now.
As a physics student I recently went to an oncology department to be shown one of these Linear Accellerators and It looks so intimidating, you did so well to stay relaxed! (or seem like it anyway ;)
Wow you were able to make a good video of this.Brian, great work on this.I bet the doctors felt great and famous for being on cam haha.Good luck with all of this and i hope you get better! let me know what's going on.
Well, thanks for that. Really. I was not looking forward to losing my hair. It's a part of my personality. I've always been proud of the amount and density of my hair and now it's pretty much gone. They say it will grow back, and here's hopeing it comes back in like it used to be. I take my last scheduled radiation treatment today (08/01/08) so I should be on the way back to a full head soon. Cross my fingers, knock on wood... ;)
Toward the end of the video I got to thinking about that song, Moonshadow, but Cat Stevens. Now we just need to add the verse "And if I ever lose my hair..."
