  • does it matter? why go to that much effort to spread your word that flips are not parkour? they can be parkour of course they can and also they can't as a great sage said, the whole point of freerunning and parkour is to merge together and create ultimate beauty of movement! BUT that is my view, many people have different veiws, peace

  • Free running is parkour aka urban gymnastics so flips, rolls, vaults, and climbing are all free running/ parkour. if you think otherwise your just plain stupid.

  • @TheNinjalazer Of course it becomes Parkour when it's put to practical use. Tell me the last time you actually saw what you decribed happen, though.

  • @TraceurFox I always use a frontflip in my landings. And I have personally used a backflip to save myself in a fall. Some friends and I have actually trained for it should the coincidence arise.

  • flips can be parkour cause parkour is passing objects quickly and effieceiently for example i would classify sideflips and frontflips over objects as parkour because sideflips and frontflips over objects can get you over pretty massive objects and freerunning is a varation of parkour other than sideflips and frontflips over objects id say that all other flips are freerunning and not parkour

  • @Towelman20 I can't see that flips can pass the object quickly... i'd like to see one of this situation....

  • @raul3k11 flips can pass an object quickly lol and they can get you over big objects no offense or anything but i think your coment was stupid

  • @Towelman20 let me say again:

I can't see that flips can pass the object quickly than the normal jumps...

    hehe

  • @Towelman20 Youre stupid. Whats faster and more effieceint?

    A) Frontflipping a gap

    B) Striding a gap

Pretty much sums it up, doesnt?

  • @stylizhmathias NOOOOOOOO

  • whats the video at 0:59? lmfaoo

  • what movie is that from, u know the guy screaming all the time?

  • @exacute10x Banlieue 13!!! district 13 translated in english

  • @hawkesburycr thanks bro

  • This is why I can't stand parkour people. All of the practitioners are douchebags that argue semantics. Everyone who practices talks about how free form it is then they bug you about your technique, or style. They won't stop spewing tips and wisdom about how to leap over something. Why should you care if I want to do a fucking trick? I spent years skateboarding and met tons of cool people, and a few douchebags. After trying to get into parkour I met a ton of douchebags and a few cool people

  • @Rickles yh to be honest most of freerunners and parkourers are douches but you just need to become friends with them and get to know also learn to ignore :) im a freerunner but i would upload some clips of me doing some corks etc so you can just see :) you should do parkour more often it will be very handy trust me on that

  • @Rickles

depends where you live. the American communities seem to be more strict with the parkour/ freerunning thing. while the European communities seem more laid back...

  • I love how all the flips are done by david belle :L

  • AJAJAJAJAJJAJAJAJAJA LO MEJOR QUE VI EN MI VIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    PARKOURRRRR flips are not parkour

  • haha old man funny

  • Flips r gymnastics !!

  • he is endeed the founder of the discipline, and you cannot challenge anything because there is nothing to challenge. But we have to acept also that his acrobatics skills are kind of basics. He may be the founder, but is obvious that his skills are not what we can see know. Also the parkour itself. The discipline have evolve and is an amazing shit. Go out and jump biaetches

  • maybe david belle could sound stupid saying that because well, he always use to show his acrobatics skills, but everyone who train know that parkour is about efective movement. I know that, he know that, and every one involve in the discipline know that too. Flips are not parkour just for that. You cannot move from A to B, fucking flippin, because thats is not efective if you wanna be fast. The reason why he fucking flip, is because, his an actor, and the acrobatics skills pay

  • talking is not parkour. just shut the fuck up and go out and train. Jeez!

  • The last clip, in the cell. Is that from a movie? If so, what movie?

  • @liiifedrainer B-13 be sure to watch the other films too =)

  • Funny well put together

  • Oh wait, none of this matters. It's whatever you want it to be. Go and have fun. Also, David Belle DOES do flips.

Creator of video is a moron. Done.

  • This video was made by some friends to point out the silliness of the internets when it comes to silly debates of freerunning/parkour =) thank you everyone for indulging with 70,000 hits

  • People that think David Belle can't do flips because he 'invented' Parkour fail.

That is like saying the person that invented the mop is not allowed to use a hoover.

People that credit David Belle with the invention of Parkour without giving credit to Don Habrey, Georges Herbert, Arnim Dahl, Jackie Chan, the Yamakasi and countless others are fail.

That is like saying Bruce Lee invented punching.

  • - david belle didnt invent parkour. he modernised it, turning it into more than just a tool, but he still wasnt the inventor. try georges hebert, if ANYone.

    - flips can be parkour if used properly. say that you land a precision, but start to fall forward. you're 8 feet above the ground. wat do? a quick flip could bring your body over and put your feet at a safe landing angle with the ground. if it increases efficiency of movement, it doesn't matter what it is. it's still parkour.

  • truly a parkour nazi

  • truely a parkour nazi

  • HahA NOOO jaja

  • lol

I love this kind of humor.

  • This is hilarious!

PS all you people yammering about your parkour philosophies and whatnot should loosen the hell up... it's trivial shit and it doesn't make a damn difference to anyone's day-to-day... so basically just drop it and find something more constructive to roll around in your mind cogs.

  • Oh, shut the fuck was that?

  • its funny how people see parkour and freerunning as 2 different things when all they are , are translations freerunning simply is parkour in english and at the end of the day parkour is just movement, the objective: to get from A to B using the urban enviroment , if i do a flip / trick it dosent stop me from getting to B end of.

  • @COLVINaxis it's funny how you are the dumbest person in the world parkour means ''the way through'' i cant see the word free in this...freerunning is about style and doesnt have to be only about flips otherwise it would be called acrobatics but lucky for everyone who is dumb like you,the whole world is getting more and more ignorant and nobody will notice how ridiculously you sound.

  • @glavos4upenpk you know this how ?? you sound like the dumbest person in the world for believing half the pish you hear

  • @COLVINaxis Theres a difference!

    SMALL difference but there is...

Parkour: To ‘flow’ along one’s path efficiently, for the entire journey to be as one fluent movement with no pauses or breaks. A principal rule of parkour is to never go backwards.

  • @COLVINaxis

Freerunning: Free running or freerunning is a form of urban ACROBATICS in which participants, known as free runners, use the city and rural landscape to perform movements through its structures. It incorporates efficient movements from parkour, adds aesthetic vaults and other acrobatics, such as tricking and street stunts, creating an athletic and aesthetically pleasing way of moving.

  • i just call it jumping around and having fun. Being Creative and free is what its all about to many people are always arguing over a name. I think its a little silly. hahaha just enjoy it. Peace Neal.

  • Flips are freeerunning not parkour

  • @seanster2222 Parkour is french for free running dumbass

  • @ghostassassin23 sorry but its not flips are freerunning parkour is getting from a to b in the quickest way possible using your body with the environment around you!

  • cant belive its been 3 years since i watched this at a party with the guys who made it... lmao, to come back and read all the comments saying that you guys think this is serious is fucking great... lmao

  • Well freerunning contains parkour and flips so it's simply the best.

  • We aim to be libirate in our movment. To be abel to do what ever we wanna do where ever we want to do it. But parkour is not flips ? Oo. I don't get it, what the different bettwen free running and parkour. Nothing. PArkour is about expressing yourself throw movment, same with free running, just to be free and o be abel to do what ever we wanna do where ever we want to do it. Other wise parkour has rules and then it's not totaly freedom cause you lock your self to the "parkour" movments.

  • @NiclasTimle89 ..Parkour is based off efficiency and was used for the french militia. if i am going to run up a wall a kartwheel does not get me up faster. your not restraining yourself in parkour by not doing flips your just doing something different. its called free running and they are two different things, which is why they have two different names. While freerunning is more to do with expressing yourself within your environment, parkour is aiming to get from A to B the fastest.

  • hahahah funny vid and ninjas are the founder of parkour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then david

  • @NikLagua not in that order and Jakie Chan was after ninjas then david

  • @knoxskornerrules

obviously you didn't watch the video;)

  • Scared the shit out of me the first time

  • Looooooooool !!!!! The two fighting man !!!!! xD !!!!!! They are in Quebec lol !!!!! Ahahahahahahaha!!!!!

  • even the david belle himself see this video and he will laugh

  • Screw the definitions of freerunning and parkour, just lump it all into one and call it parkour. Flips are parkour. Why? Because it's a way of moving. It's all movement so yeah. The more you train and the better you become, the easier it will be to understand this.

  • @gmerit1 sooo... walking is parkour? and running?

  • @trainingTraceur Not by itself, but when mixed with everything else in PK&FR it is. It's a way of moving from place to place and that's a part of the defintions of both PK AND FR.

  • @all the guys who wrote "@The RooftopsClimber":

    1. Webster and Sideflip are efficient if you do them right. Cause you can't always use your regular jump or vault to overcome an obstacle (like plants or even living beeings).

    2. He said, that Backflip, which he was doing, is unefficient, an that's true. He didn't say that all flips were "bad".

    3. I know that this video was supposed to be funny, but everyone was saying "Yeah, that's true! Flips are not Parkour!"

    4. Keep on training, guys!

  • I had to admit, retarded as it was, I laughed a few times. Next time someone disagrees with me I have to remember to tac-curbstomp him while angrily yelling "NOOOOO!!!!"

  • Parkour means point A to B, Free Running is just for fun. Flips are used in both Parkour and Free Running.

  • get over the flip-hating, people. flips are fun, period. Freerunning doesn't have to be flashy, have flips, or spins, it just has to disregard efficiency. You can do parkour, and throw the random flip in without getting your parkour card taken from you by the parkour police. "We saw you do that flip, your parkour days are over kid," lol. A flip is just a flip, it's not some magic move that determines whether you do parkour or freerunning.

Great vid BTW, funny as hell.

  • @drailluos omg parkour card taken from the parkour police hahaha! i almost died thats awesome it makes sence to lol

  • well... I agree with david, but... why all the swearing?

  • funny but we all know that EVEN IF he said "flips are not parkour", he meant something deeper in sense, the essentials and philosophy of parkour, which is in freedom, the origins of human being, the ways of interaction with modern urban society and etc.

its a logic of young or emotionally expansive people to get words literally without a context.

  • a clip of those who have challenged that beleif? the first clip is David Belle

  • to be fair he isn't the founder of Parkour, you can't take claim to movement, and even he learned it from someone, i beleive it was, don't quote me, a friend of his father or something like that

  • And this is sooo wrong :)

David never said, that Flips aren't Parkour, he said unefficent movement isn't parkour, but not all Flips are unefficient...

    Think about that ;)

  • @TheRooftopsClimber WHOA takachillpill dude it was meant to be funneh and it was fucking funneh, and also a little message to it, but DID YOU SEE HOW BIG HIS USELESS GAINERS WERE? THOSE WERE UNEFFICENT, BUT HE STILL DID THEM, so yeah....THOSE WERE MASSIVE FUCKING GAINERS THOUGH

  • @TheRooftopsClimber Yea he has actually. There's an interview of him online where he says they're not, he just likes doing them since he took gym. But a flip is not very efficient, considering they do absolutely nothing except add flare to your flow.

But funny video. I like the old man fight. Hahahaha

  • @TheRooftopsClimber

all flips are unefficient. tell me one flip that is efficient in any way

  • @Fl1pmo WEBSTER. Prick...

  • @OmgAParkourFlip

    The hell is a webster?

    PS: Asshole

  • @skullkid4900 Why comment if you don't know what it is... Look it up faggot.

  • @OmgAParkourFlip

lol did you just say a webster is efficient? ha i hope you're joking

  • @ericds33 It is.. time efficient anyway, i can running webster over something alot faster than id vault or whatever you lot call it, its flow never stops.

  • @OmgAParkourFlip

That just means you have a bad vault. A good vault doesn't lose flow either. I SERIOUSLY doubt that you could webster over anything faster than I could do an efficient vault over. Not only that, but I would have used less energy (hence, efficient). Plus, you can kong over a 8 foot long bench or 6 foot high wall. It would be ridiculous trying to webster over that.

  • @ericds33 I didnt say anything about doing a webster in them circumstances but yes i agree a webster wouldnt be your best option there <.< Think about it, you use your hands and push straight off the fence, slowing you down in the air, webster land quicker and lose no speed at all.

  • @TheRooftopsClimber

    what flips aren't inefficient?

flip=rotating over your center of gravity.

Technically includes handsprings, tucks, twist, ect

  • Great ! :DD

  • lol i loved this video ! great editing , very funny , and true ! 5 star

  • Wow!!! Best Parkour vid ever!!

  • Alright well heres my thoughts flips are not fucking parkour and if u do it either u slipped (which is a TUMBLE ) or ur doing freerunning (grrrr). Also on something else i kinda think that david brought parkour into being a sport but other people could do all this stuff that people call parkour now, it just wan't really a true sport or at all as popular as it is today but it was there. getting from 1 place to another stopping at nothing but ur own limits. sorry for the long post no hate please!!

  • period

  • You guys have so over - made this serious...

  • ahahahaahah

  • its funny how most of the flips in this video are done by david belle

  • touchet....

  • @hippysandmuffin0

    no really?:P

  • what?

  • lol :P

  • @hippysandmuffin0 That's why it's funny you moron. Look up "satire" in a dictionary.

  • @TheTot asian

  • @hippysandmuffin0 imaginate all your life training parkour just waiting for an guy who do a flip and call it parkour and later a guy call the flips freeruning and because you work in movie & stuff you have to learn that thats why he do flips too but i don't know if what i think is true because is my way to see it

  • @hippysandmuffin0 Well thats the point...

  • @hippysandmuffin0

    maybe thats the joke........?

    haha

  • @ParkourIdstein maybe cool fuck off i dont care.

  • @hippysandmuffin0 This doesnt prove anything, the first few clips is him just doing a advert in the advert it didnt say anything about 100% parkour that hes doing hes doing the flips in there just to show for the advert duh... Sebastian, is probably a better parkourer than david belle anyway, he doesnt choose to do the flips which is parkour.. david bell does flips for commercial use sometimes if he has to sometimes he would just do it for fun. there really is no point of this video.

  • @michael753951 Because you know what he does for fun? I honestly don't care.

  • @hippysandmuffin0 sorry your 1 month late

  • @michael753951 Oh, because my point isn't valid after a month :(

  • hahaha

i wonder how david would reply to this video

  • охуенчик)))

  • Because, parkour is about to move quickly, and flips are making you only slower

  • what about a diving front flip over a rail tucked into a roll at the end? extremely efficient and its a flip,

  • @fight141 This is crazy. That is Known as A Diving roll. and is a type of Roll. Not a Flip

@hippysandmuffin0 That Is True. He Uses Flips as a Form Of Conditioning Exercise.

  • @elliotfa i now it.....my freind ow me a 100 dollar

  • so crazy

  • love this vid

  • damn i love this! NOOOOO! hahaha

  • hey man...what was the name of that french movie that you edited in there??

  • District B13

  • i thought the basics of free running was founded by white dorky teens in the midwest. i saw it on the news in the early 90s.

  • nice vid...

  • Parkour is every move, flips or not. Free running is same shit just diffrent name. To me, I can't flip my self, but Iam trying to learn

  • well, parkour is every move except this one that makes your run slower. that means flips are NOT part of parkour moves.

  • @NiclasTimle89 Parkour is not the same as free running. Free running is parkour with flips and spins and flashy moves.

  • HAHA funny man i like it!

  • You are clearly a retard, no-one can say what is and isn't parkour because its a form of movement. But you just said you were watching the 'freerun'!!! championships, not parkour championships, and just because they did them in that it doesn't mean thats parkour, because it isn't. Parkour and freerunning are two entirely different things.

  • haha flips aren't parkour, even though some people may try to say they are

    5*

  • Siao

  • Yeah!!!!!!!!!

  • hahahahahahahha xD

  • yeah but parkour isnt free running and what they do in the free running championships isnt free running either.

  • very nice...i agree with belle...but its not dat bad to try flips for fun :)

  • GAY

  • what movie is that the "NO!" guy from? it looks bad ass!

  • district 13

  • thank you ^.^

  • Flips are not parkour!

  • im jesus

  • flips arent parkour at all. parkour is the most efficient route from point A to point B. free running is basically the same but with flips or whatever incooperated, simplee asssss.

  • true story !

  • flips arent parkour we all know that. Flips are just something to spice up parkour, and therefore it is considered parkour to use, it is easy to jump and land... it is hard to jump, do a ton of fking crazy flips and land, FLIPS SPICE UP PARKOUR!

  • Most people seem to be under impression that free running has no philosophy, but that's untrue. Still, it's a cool video, but David is right. Flips are not fastest way how to overcome obstacles.

  • you can say that while running you can flip and its still parkour, fine, but parkour is about fluidity and motion, free-running has no philosophy behind it apart from to look good infront of other ppl, i respect people who can do all these flips and stuff but at the end of the day it isnt parkour, its free-running

  • i'm pure pk so dont get me wrong, but free running does have philosophy its about expressing yourself though moving freely and dynamically in whatever way you can.

  • nice vid:D

  • flips are not parkour they are "glamour tricks". sabastian isnt the co founder of parkour hes the founder of free running. yes they started parkour together but they had diffrent views which is why they went there seperate ways but are still close friends. flips are free running but people who do parkour do "glamour tricks" to please the crowd because everbody knows jumping over a fence is not as cool as a backflip.

  • i fuking agree

  • that is hilarious!!!!!

  • Parkour is a way of moving forward wile using the thing around you, if you do flips wile parkouring you are still parkouring. If you do a single flip on the ground, you are doing a flip on the ground nothing else.

  • flips in parkour is debatable, such as, to create more forward momentum i could in corporate a front sault into a jump to acheive a more desire result.

  • maybe flips isnt parkour, but if you combinate flips and parkour it looks pretty cool

  • flips is practically gymnastics.

    stick to PARKOUR.

  • i laughed my ass off!! AHAHA NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • no no true i see thjat film in my language italian then i think there are traducted versions i see it on tv try search it on internet banlieue 13 and there is banlieue 13 ultimatum too

  • i downloaded it with english dubbed voices haha, but when i played it on my shitty windows machine it played both english and french at the same time?

  • district 13 but its all in french only enlish subtitles....

  • flips = gymnastics/acrobatics

  • /freerunning

  • /tricking/awesomeholyfuckshiti'mcool.

  • guys ok fuse this 2 urbans sports but if you break your bones and you will put a video don't name it parkour name it free run stuipids bastards

  • yeeaahh!!! go David you make fucking rules. ^_^#

  • Flips are not parkour, but there a fun thing to add to the art.

  • lol the funnyest bit was the woman hittin the woman, made me laugh!

  • maby people be scard and they all become skinny

  • parkour = kicks

  • this is so fucking funny!!!

  • you got it completely wrong, in every way possible.

and seriously, if you can jump a building you need to be a comic book series.

  • idiot lol... parkour = A to B in fastest/most effitiant way to get there.

  • No,No,No,NO! Parkour is getting from point A to point B the quickest and most efficient way possible and free-running is parkour with unefficient moves, and flips. Neither one of them is "jumping buildings." They are both different ways to express yourself. You don't get it at all.

  • And no one is saying Belle invented parkour, he FOUNDED it. He realised what it was and kind of made a definition for it.

  • Parkour is a way of travelling. It's about getting from point A to B with efficiency in the quickest time possible. And if there are obstacles in the the way, then you know what to do. Day by day people don't realise they are at times doing parkour.

Freerunning is more about the art & aesthetics. Showing off, or doing similiar acts to make yourself feel better when doing it, is freerunning. It's why you can supposably include flips in freerunning.

All these flips came from tricking btw.
