  • I totally agree with what she says...wise woman! =))

  • thank God she's singing in most of her vids, not talking ...

  • She's Gothic lady! Very pleasant to listen her even she's talking...

  • She is on a different spiritual plain then the average person. Her spiritual depth is profound.Who could ever find anything beautiful out of traffic.

  • Good voice but she doesn't half go on with herself in this. Bit... odd...

  • @poppadompeach Well she is just trying to explain were she draws her inspiration from and how things like traffic can impact her singing and so forth.

  • Can't be good; deep breathing in a tunnel with all that toxic emissions from cars....but everything she does is deeply affecting.

  • I would love to take vocal lessons with Ms. Gerrard. I just love her dramatic contralto vocal range.

  • The voice of an angel.

  • loon

  • Wow that is SO weird as she says if you close your eyes and listen the cars stop passing for a short bit...It is almost like God stopped them for a second or something.

  • Her voice is also beautiful when she speaks

  • traffic can be a part of the big city orchestra. I reccommend the work of italian futturist's Luigi Rusollo Art of Noise (1913) :) Maybe it can be connected?

  • inspirational a true angelic gift. x

  • Lisa Gerrard is a goddess

  • i dont know about all this but one things for sure...her song "injection" is music to my ears. i listen to it when i relaxing, sleeping, working out, basically all the time and it never gets old. check the song out if u havent heard it and be ready to be swept of ur feet!

  • meravigliosa creatura, la amo sinceramente. La mia numero 1.

  • I love nature and I love you Lisa ...

  • doesn't the truck which passes soon after she sings gives exactly the same sound.. as if it is verifying her.

  • She HITS the point, right on the spot !

  • muy bella la voz transmite a otros lugares como el cielo lo inalcanzable..

  • Once you've had that experience, you never lose it.

  • Someone can tell me the title of the first song in this doc? thanks.

  • its wierd how when people sing its quiet, and its not annoying, but when people talk all the time, they are annoying and loud and need to learn to be quiet and hear the quietness

  • I dont know but when they are under the bridge, she looks like crazy woman.

  • i think she s superb like lorena mckennith..

  • I simply love this woman...they may never be another voice like lisa's....thank you!

  • I LOVE YOU LISA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Dance in Harmony with all sounds"

    ~there is a meditation..~

  • soooo deep you'd tend to sink.... words and their bearers, huff!

  • "The desire to sing is much more poweful than the desire not to" LOL!

    She's so cute.

  • I like the way artists talk...it's always like, "I know what you're talking about....I think"

  • Stay above and all over______

  • It's all about love with Lisa. I wish everyone was able to communicate the way she can, not necessarily through sound but in general harmony with everything else. Lisa if you ever read this I have no words to thank you for this amazing work of yours for so many years but most of all I thank God and the universe and hope we'll all resonate with it as you do soon as we realize that we're all one living organism.

  • @aalexa88

    Amen!

  • Jeepers creepers it's so encouraging to hear Lisa expounding on noise.

She is a real ruler, but'd be even rulier if she broke away from coventional musicality & sound, and vibed with some rawer noise.

  • hello,LIZA,I proud of your great job,and everybody think like me and dead can dance is wonderful idea because I'm indigen of north africa and when I listen yours music I remind who I'm,You have many class, thanks, bye.

  • Your music is so Amazing, and toching..

  • 2:58 - 3:35 Absolute truth Lisa.

It even reminds me of waves crashing on

a beach at night. Yet i would never have

even thought about that for a moment,

    unless she pointed that out.

    She's one of a kind.

  • Oops. Sorry. Didn't see that talkoolone had already responded. Just so excited that I actually knew it, I guess.

  • hihi all rigth ;)

    thx anyway.

  • what is the name of first song playing in background ?

  • Sanvean

  • tnx man ;D

  • The song is called Sanvean, by Dead Can Dance. It is on their live album, Toward the Within, and is available on itunes. I love this song...

  • So very true we all have times that we feel ourselves conecting and then falling away from then growing towards it more.

  • haha when she was in the tunnel making voices it made me giggle . imagine you were there not knowing whats going on in the tunnel :P

  • The best ! . . . to come across ( out of the blue ) such a beautiful sound !

  • Ella lo sabe todo. A callar las bocas!

  • I understand completely what she is talking about. Its the essence of sound, every sound has a musical content to it, the droning sounds of the cars and how the tunnel captures all of them together. you have to look past what you see, get immersed in the sound, and become one with it. You guys don't understand what she is saying because you are looking at it superficially, there is more to sound than just hearing it with your ears.

  • You wish to see; Listen.

Hearing is a step toward Vision.

    Bernard de Clairvaux (1090-1153)

  • i cant stand listening to lisa and brendon speak in interviews like this. they talk out of they ass's. making up words and sentences that make no sense , nonsence speak. 3 layers of drones?? wtf?? communicating with cars??? 4:30 what the hell is she talking about???

  • Well even if it doesn't make any sense to you, there is no need to freak out.

  • I have to admit that the communicating with the cars comment made me laugh. It just sounds silly. The closest one can get to communicating with a car is to get in and drive the bloody thing. Still I love the woman's music.

  • Simply because you fail to understand it doesn't mean you need to insult them.

  • HOW THE H*LL CAN SHE SING LIKE THAT????????she has golden vocal chords...I love her:)

  • Her face reveals a life of sadness... She is a true INFP.

  • agree

  • That's funny, she didn't realize that God was within her.

  • Oh, cool. I own this DVD. It's called "Lisa Gerrard: Sancturary." Beautiful.

  • Wow. She is lovely lovely beautiful soul. So true what she is saying, i have found that there might be sounds from something that i didnt like..perhaps a noisy airplane or buzzing refiderator motor or something..and then i wud find myself naturally singing, humming or toning is a frequency that best harmonized w/ that paticular sound ..in order for me to readjust and transform my feelings of discomfort or annoyance w/ that sound..into something that became beautiful. Anyways, Thanx 4 this video*

  • Yea , i'm a janitor and in the womens room of a bar i work at , when im cleaning , there is this certain drone from the vent fan that i find myself singing / harmonizing with often . . .

  • I love you Lisa...thanks for give us such a good music!

    Big kiss from Mexico....

  • wow, this is a beautiful video

  • what is the name of this music?plz

  • It's Sanvean - the first piece. It is available on YouTube

  • i dont think its in some language. hear the original sound track of film gladiator.

  • a language that Lisa Gerrard invented

  • The Seekers, Rod Laver, King Wally, Banjo Patterson, ACDC, Olivia Newton John, The Go Betweens and Lisa Gerrard.

THE 8 GREATEST THINGS TO COME OUT OF AUSTRALIA.

'My opinion for what it's worth'.

Lisa Is A Once In A Lifetime Happening !

  • amazing voice ... i love her... shes making every song more beautiful.

  • Lisa es unica...

como asemeja la voz con los sonidos que cotidianamente todos escuchamos y que nadie pone atención! pero para una sola persona es importante.

    Muy interezante.

  • :) inspiration adoration

  • a stupid surfer nation? let me guess.... your from america, and ur one of those fuc*ers who think the US is the only country that matters. i pity u

  • True - it was not the most sophisticated comment, I apologize ... Australia is one of the most beautiful places on earth, but I just don't think Australians represent themselves very well when they travel: Loud and noisy, drunk, superficial and plain stupid to listen to. And no, I'm not American - check my nick. You do know that Denmark is a country in Europe. ..... Right??

  • yes... i guess i didnt read ur nick..... all countries have loud and drunk and superficial and stupid people... maybe aussies are just more laid back and dont worry about treading on peoples toes overseas. rather, they prefer to have a fun time and not worry about such things as reputation :P

  • :-) I'm glad that world peace has been restored across the continents

  • yeh, she's from Melbourne, Australia

  • Wow she has totally lost it! And i like that!

"why is the sound of traffic as un musical as an orchestra"

Sweet bring on the Post-Structuralist revolution!

I think my lecturer would like her

  • She is a stunning influence

  • she really is a prophetess...

  • Adoro la voz de esta mujer. Increíble Lisa Gerrard. Bendiciones!!!

  • Is that an Australian accent? How versatile, international and unique her voice!

  • yes.. she is from southern australia

  • Goddess!

  • Beautiful person, beautiful voice =] Love your music!

  • The Pineal Gland.

  • A fellow Discordian..intriguing

  • God!!! It is so impressive how she can turn something so vulgar as the sound of the cars under a bridge into inspiration for divine beautiness... I really love her!!!

  • I love you mother

  • me to

  • I love her

  • I've seen DCD perform a lot of times in holland from 1980 and on...and every time my friends and I agreed....while performing, Lisa is the unreachable...THE Divine.....she offen made me cry...pure out of greatness. But after the performance she was/is sooooooooo sweet...so down to earth and up there again...just all in one!!! Thanx Lisa, for just being there!!!!

  • It is possible that she touches the divine. She has a gift and it the ability to let the divine come through her voice.

  • Sweetness. Stunning.

  • Dead Can Dance is fantastic.

  • Her voice is almost un-human. Words can barely describe how incredible it is!

  • That phrase in the tunnle... and her answering to traffic... we must be missing a great deal... I envy her nieghbours who can listen to Lisa's bathroom singing... now I'm hungry for much more...

  • Krishna Das, who like Lisa Gerrard, also has this intoxicating voice and can move people to ecstatic states, was told by his Guru that his job was to sing - not talk. Eberytime he opened his mouth and singing wasn't coming out he was depriving people of God's grace. Lisa Gerrad should find the same Guru and take the same advice.

  • GEOHHADDAD: I think you should find a guru that advises you to not type anymore unenlightening, pretentious comments on youtube.

  • I am a Ghuru, and I say that you should both keep insulting eachother for the greater enjoyment of humanity.

  • What's the song from 0:27 onwards?

  • Sanvean (I am your shadow) - Lisa Gerrard

  • I love her. Ever since I saw the movie Baraka and learned about her and Dead can Dance I have been entranced. I think she sound like an angel.

  • Comment removed

  • Society was never very creative though, musicinherheart. Every kind of creative experiment that supposes a little understanding of the subjective vision of an artist is"...too much for society". Remember Mozart? Than again the idea of being a part of the universe (creation), that Lisa Gerrard is talking about is perhaps incomprehencible for those who's mind is limited by the idea of belonging to some arogant group of people that you call"society" wich is however a small part of the human race.

  • yeah good name.

  • She's too much for society...I mean, poor dear, most probably would think she's crazy. She just can't remove her spiritual yearning from the rest of her life. But no doubt, her music has a bit of heaven in it...and yes, the philosophy is a bit too much for me, but hey, I mean....she does what she is INSPIRED to do, and doesn't care what people think, obviously. If I saw her, she wouldn't intimidate me though, as she would make some feel. I would like her...

  • I have loved this woman's voice since I first heard Dead Can Dance in 1987. Seeing her live is mind-boggling, her voice has even more depth and complexity than a CD can capture.

  • Great and haunting voice but very weird philosophy.

  • her philosophy of music is very interesting

  • Out side of the world, thanks for shraing

  • Such Clarity!

    Thank you for posting this.

  • Wonderful!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!!
