  • @MrMufasa555 It was the 1-meter version.

  • Nice job, I got a Canon 60d and a Sony FX1000 i did some comparisons and a video HDV vs AVCHD HDV is better for special effects

  • @bobspark18 Thank you! Awesome, the 60D sounds like a great cam. Thanks for the info on HDV vs. AVCHD!

  • @bobspark18 what makes you say that? just curious

  • can you give me some feedback on how you got your footage into final cut? I just bought this camera and the Canon EOS plugin for final cut doesn't work with this camera and I have been searching around online for ways to get around this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • @salukialan For this video, I just edited the footage straight from the camera in the compressed format. This works, but editing it is a pain and export errors abound. What I currently do is transcode the footage to Prores 422 using Compressor. If you don't have Compressor, you can use MPEG Streamclip, which is free. Transcode all the footage to Prores 422 and you'll be in good shape.

    Hope that helps!

  • @salukialan copy the mov files from DCMI/100 CANON to a folder on your desktop, eject card, edit from those.

  • thanks for the video man, im learning the how to's. im using the 550d, any suggestion about the 24/25 fps? somehow i got mixed up

  • @PgDiboy If you're in North America, or creating something for a North American audience, you'll want to use 24 fps and be shooting in NTSC. 25 fps is what you use in Europe, shooting in PAL. You'll be able to choose either NTSC or PAL from the camera's menu, and this will then determine which frame rates you're able to choose from.

Does that answer your question at all, or were you referring to something else regarding those frame rates?

  • @BlockOneStudios okay, i thought the higher the fps the better, as in better slow mo effects. does is effect the recording size for higher frame rates? im planning to take a video and wanted the best possible output. from videos i've seen canon 5d the best so far. i know my 550d can do it. cheers mate.

  • blockone. good job!! if you start work on framing it will be great!!! you should also consider buying a long lense!

  • @onemusicvideo Thank you, and thanks for the tips! I'm definitely wanting to invest in some lenses as soon as possible.

  • @onemusicvideo which lens would you recommend?? thanks

  • @RamSawFan if you want world class lense go for canon..otherway stick to sigma they are also good and VERY cheap lens. personally i like wide lenses around 9.8mm wide open as possible. i used lomo lens for the haiti music video its pretty cool for sandy look..what camera do you have? also prime is best you guys know that for sure.

  • I'll close by saying good attempt, but lot's of work ahead of you, if you intend to produce high quality cinema-like shorts. Best of luck.

  • This video has been downsampled poorly, watching it from that perspective, was painful. The music is also far too loud, even after turning down the volume. That part actually was painful. I also hardly recall witnessing any use of the glidetrack at all...about 4 times in the entire video, and it was not used well. None of this is meant to be overt criticism, but it should give you something to consider.

Also, poor day, lighting wise, to bother shooting. But that often can't be helped.

  • @jonathanmatthie Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This was my first time ever using the T2i as well as the Glidetrack, so it was really just a test.

  • Nice work... its great to see people enjoying using these new HD DSLRS.

  • Very pleasant video, nice edit and grats to the actors ;-)

In order to enhance it even more, i'll concentrate a bit more on smaller dof(when possible) and nearest framing in some scene.

But, i really don't want to focus on technics 'cause the sensation it gives are good as it is :-)

  • Thank you! Appreciate the constructive criticism, too - I'll keep those things in mind for future videos.

  • Not exactly sure what you're referring to here. If it's skin color, then actually, I'm not black. I have two adopted brothers that are, and they're the ones in the video.

Not that it matters anyway - God doesn't care what skin color we are, and neither should we.

  • @dulow : so what if they're black? I am brown... do you have a problem with that?

  • beautiful.
