Hi Krzysztof, I never get tired of listening to this piece played by you, recorded a long time ago.. I think it is your very,very best recording. I also bought your cd online and it is also beautiful.. But in my opinion this recording is uncomparable in terms of clarity of tone, sweetnessness and the emotion it manifests in me. @johnadk1 Hi thanks for liking it! personally i think i have improved my technique and musicality since this recording, but then that has changed the charachter of the music, and some people like you prefer this sound that i had back then! ill leave this one on youtube dont worry!

Beautiful song - played beautifully! My 2 cents: there are lyrics for this melody. The poem is by Russian extremely talented poet of 20th century --Sergei Esenin who was born in Ryazan Region.

The poem is his letter to his old mama.

"Are you still alive, my dear mama.

So am I, "hello" to you 'hello".

There is no way anybody is able to reflect in translation the melody of the language and the pain/nostalgia of his work.

i know, it gets lost in translation. ill post some more songs from yesenins poems soon. this song is also nice to play on balalaika, with guitar accompaniment.

Thanks foir giving the poem by Sergei Esenin. It is most probably true that the English is byt a pale reflection of the original but the melody did reflect the pain anf nostalgia of the poem

no, its a famous (not famous outside russia) folk melody. sergey yesenin was the poet. a lot of singers in russia sing this melody, though i cant find anyone performing it on youtube.
