Our society preaches "morality" and yet it commits genocide every fucking day. We are a part of this and we feel it deep down. The normal human reaction to the bullshit around us should either be DEPRESSION or RAGE.
"I dont trust ANYBODY whos not angry"
anyhoo, 2012 is gonna be interesting. You "normals" are slowly waking up to reality...
@DJpopel I tend to agree, I have a lot a lot of rage for the hypocracy I see every day. No-one is "normal" we all can feel it deep down that this world is madness and we are all to blame. They call me a pessimist but really I'm a realist. I don't have hope for such a greedy and calous race such as ours. Also they say Im too sensitive, of course I'm sensitive, I have senses I use them.
It gets frustrating to me trying to convince, articulate, point out to people why I have my troubles, difficulties- they simply are not empathetic, or they blame me or they don't understand, or they compare me to someone else, or they underestimate or overestimate me in certain ways,or wrongly attribute things or say I should do this or that when whatever it is, I may find unrealistic or inappropriate, or dishonest- Its complex & all i can hope for is that people become more understanding.
@catgumart Why do you expect people to have understanding? We all have a conscience (superego), and we are all free to choose our morals. We all often fail in life, and this often means that we don't have understanding and empathy. The ethos of victimization is that we never accept our own failings, and we project our own guilt onto other people. This is often the root of mental illness. If we don't accept our own failings, then we don't learn from our mistakes!
Corporate hegemony is the dry rot of American civilization and the Monsanto Company is a prime example of extreme corporate hegemony. If the people of this country are really stupid enough to allow a bully, toxic chemical company to genetically morph the world's seed supply, then we all deserve the consequences. We grow our own food - I suggest everyone reading this do the same, unless you believe your body will mutate into one that can safely consume and digest Monsanto's "creations".
Im often troubled & I get thrown from a point of equilibrium easily, I don't like discussing it in too much depth openly- all though I have gone in depth in the past- the reason is that people don't understand & they label you, or dismiss the problems, or do everything that you are saying here (too negative, big ego, your angry etc.) If I'm well rested, in safe low stress environment where I have what I need to eat well, sleep, exercise, practice, study, self express I can keep myself centered-
@catgumart Usually people become psychologically stronger when they have many good friendships and love. You seem to blame other people for your problems when in fact they are just like you. Chances are that if a person has problems with others it is because they offend them. For example, it is a very good idea to never tell somebody they are wrong, or blame them.
Respectfully sir, your assessment is inaccurate & simplistic-
"You seem to blame other people for your problems" -Though there are times when individuals should bear accountability in certain matters, I usually don't blame others but acknowledge the dysfunctional nature of the relationships & circumstances.
"People are just like you" - people are quite different in many respects & have unique experiences & face problems that are particular to them.
"chances are..a person has problems with others because they offend ".This is one possibility of many why one may have difficulty with others,if it the reason or part of it, what is or isn't offensive is often subjective & a topic of debate & does not warrant discrimination or antagonism
"never tell anyone they are wrong"- We all have a right to articulate our view, to discourage people from being able to disagree is repressive.
I believe that Guantanamo was a psychological and/or ESP human experiment. By varying the torture and circadian rhythms of the victim, they wanted to study the brain. The enhanced attributions of the victim would surely be interesting to them. A terrorist is prepared to die and would not reveal his information anyway.
When a mind is tortured by fear it searches for solutions. It enhances this searching by expanding its attributions like a machine. In other words, the victim becomes more imaginative. If he still can't find a solution he will shutdown because there is no other option. The more pain and fear, the more likely it is that this will occur.
One last point: At Guantanamo they varied the torture, feeding times, sleeping time, etc..... so that the victim couldn't predict the future and it was unknown, so that he was made to be afraid of the unknown. However, the keyword is still "fear".
Prisoners at Guantanamo Bay were psychologically and physically tortured because fear is so painful and mind altering. People who "fear the worst" (learned helplessness), are the most likely to suffer mental illness. Contrary to what psychologists believe, it is not the "explanatory style", but the actual amount of fear that the victim has that determines helplessness. See Wikipedia (learned helplessness.)
The truth is that the world is ruled by fear. At first I thought that everybody was evil until I suffered extreme mental illness and realized that the fear is so bad that we can't control ourselves. It is like trying to be a good person as your fingernails are being pulled out . I didn't empathize just how bad life can be for everyone. I now empathize for every creature , love and care them, and I'm fully conscious of their pain. It isn't religion that is the problem. It is fear.
@SpiritualNate i wouldn't say it was religion turning all the gears of the entire world, but i certainly agree it is a major tool used by those in power to limit and manipulate world views of the masses in their favor. being smart enough to see through that though, is exactly what makes you dangerous enough to earn the poisonous prescriptions that render you incapable of reproduction.
@SpiritualNate slow down, space it out. it came out as jumbled nonsense. i think you are also confused about which drugs im talking about. tell me, how does prozac, lithium, zoloft, paxil, or any other pharmacological "cure" for mental disorders cause anything other than suffering and death? specifically how are you converting them from deadly poison into consciousness boosting spice?
sometimes the most troubled of people make the biggest difference in this World many examples i could think of. People that have great life's and always appear to be very happy, seem to me to have a detachment from reality. Everything is always perfect for them so what's the need to sort out anything that's wrong in this World or help anyone for that matter.
@SpiritualNate i use "the world" to mean its people, culture, and society. you thought i meant "the world" to mean the whole universe. the universe isn't an enemy, but the world very much is. IQ matters because it is speed of learning, it will continue to matter until we have eternal bodies that refuse to whither and die. drugs can not do w/e you want them to do, unless you are a beneit gesserit from herbert's dune. drugs do what they are made to do, and these are made to destroy us.
@cyberpsygen7 IQ has little to do with it because people have become slaves to money, automatons, and almost always have little love in their hearts. Love is no longer in the equation and men only care about sex and women only care about money when it comes to selecting a mate. People have to be this way because it is so hard to survive with a family. It's always the bottom line and not IQ. Although men love sex they need money to get it.
@Eliminator293 everything you are talking about is what im calling "the world" and why im saying its against "us" the ones with greater levels of understanding.
@cyberpsygen7 Psychologists say that the world problems are not a product of lack of understanding, but are caused by our fear of death. Search "Denial of Death" by Sheldon Solomon on Google and you can watch a great video. It's shown on Vimeo web site.
@Eliminator293 its not just death. humans are wired to fear anything unknown. understanding things, like death, takes the fear out of it. that's why understanding is important.
@cyberpsygen7 Although we fear the unknown, we fear it because it can potentially kill or hurt us! No amount of understanding can curb the extreme fear of a convict on death row! Besides, it is our culture, in other words religion, that alleviates our fear of death. Our culture represents our fear of death, and not our lack of understanding.
@cyberpsygen7 Obviously I'm not saying that understanding "can't" curb fear, but only that it would be illogical to assume that understanding is generally a good a remedy for fear. Hi John. I called you to ask advice about my cousin out of the blue a few weeks go. He is doing better. Thank you I wish more people has such clear vision as you do.
Great discussion. Gives me some confidence in going forward in that there is a distinction between a medical issue vs. a psychological one. I think in life people get caught up in the stressors and do not acknowledge them directly, instead trying to blame other factors. We do not want to admit we are weak at times. And society tends to portray that we should all be strong. To be weak means you are useless, at least that is the general message. Which is sad really.
Hi John.Much as i respect your love for humanity,i am concerned that your view downplays the negative effects of anger on the mind.I agree that bad things happen, there is injustice and evil.however expressing anger is not always the best solution. Many things r outside our individual control to change, and these things we have to accept to some degree JMO
@munkaable The narcissist is less capable of thinking objectively because he has less faith in himself, and therefore less faith in others. He has less faith in himself because he doesn't have a core personality that is generally unchanging and to which he can have faith in. He doesn't have a personality based on moral principles, but one based on the opinions of others. This is NOT simple!
Psychology reveals the limitations of the individual and society. It is only when we know our failings that we can grow. Nothing is created without the dichotomies the of good/evil, positive/negative, male/female. Positive and negative CREATES current flow. Men and women CREATE children. The New Age promotes Satanism and death because evil doesn't exist to them. EVIL spelled backwards=LIVE.
I think that his use of the word "troubled" is misleading because it trivializes the seriousness of some so-called mental illness. Mental illness is thought to be a condition that tends to be a part of an individual's character and more permanent than just having "trouble" . The New age movement wants remove the word "evil" from our culture, but the only way an individual or society can improve is to admit their guilt. One can't improve without knowing where they fail!
what i always tell people is that the "normal" from 100years ago is not the same "normal" of today. i believe there should be a new field of study called mental evolution. it is how we can teach and train ourselves to think differently and wiser. but of course everyones going to say its not normal and crazy. i am out of the norm to say that?? hahaha.....
@digimon916 Homosexuality is no longer on the list of mental illness since 1973. It was originally considered a "perversion' because it was believed that it has characteristic behavior similar to the other perversions. It is interesting that the other perversions are still on the list. I believe that it was removed from the list because it was so prevalent and because of lobbying. Is it harmful to society and the individual?
bipolar is a condition caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. In essence it is a physical condition that has a direct effect on the mind.To suggest that it is only a problem because it 'troubles' others is frankly gobsmacking and potentialy life - threatening for the sufferer.I agree in what he says about most of the issues in this video, but lets be clear here, they are not medical issues anyway.
@stratocaster539 Maybe people who experience extreme highs and lows serve a purpose to society. I would suppose that such people have always existed, but have only recently been labeled with a psychiatric disorder. Before that they were probably regarded as eccentric or a bit touched - and some great geniuses have probably achieved while in a manic phase, filled with extreme self-confidence and "grandiosity". After all, it's only grandiose if you don't finally manage to do something "grand".
@roell29 Oh yes I'm in full agreement.Trouble is,that bipolar can easily lead to cronic dibilitating depression if it is not aknowledged in an individual, and that sort of depression is compounded by the breakdown of the physical processes within the brain.Purely and simply a clynical condition. To suggest that this should remain untreated when it clearly needs treatment is something I would expect from a scientologist. Correct medication is an essential 'platform' for an individual to recover.
now that is the TRUTH! The day that i realized i was nothing but a speck of dust and life will go on with out me ..is the same day i came to appreciate the life i have ...truth ...gotta love it!
Anger is healthy, every human emotion is healthy. Someone dies, we're sad. We get fired, we're angry. Someone lies to me, disappointed. Reality is reality, and we can all control our mental minds. I fake being polite everyday, underneath I am angry at what our social society is and what it has become. Government needs a shutdown, they control too much already, we can take care of ourselves.
the higher your IQ the more you understand the world. the more you understand the world, the more you realize how hard you are getting fucked by it, and how you can never make a difference in the scheme of things. feeling angry or depressed about things that are wrong with the world is a red flag to the people fighting for eternal status quo, so they poison you with drugs that make you more likely to kill yourself, lower your IQ, and render you unable to reproduce.
@cyberpsygen7 I am angry at the world because I fully understand what the system is of our society and how fucked up it really is. Working, family, social interaction, I fucking am sick of it, why can't I have true freedom? So what I'm an introvert, doesn't mean I have a mental illness, I fake being polite every single day, I can control my mental mind, even though deep under I'm pissed off at this world, I still stay under control in public because being angry is unacceptable.
@cyberpsygen7 its your life, your envirement and the whole package that makes you look the way you look at the world, ppl are allways able to be happy and ppl arent supposed to have all that information and suck in all the negativity in the world
@cyberpsygen7 nah i dont believe your first senteance, i understand the world and have a philosophical view on the world and understand the harm and joy it can be doing. My age, 15. and my iq is lower average. IQ is maths, logic , problem solving etc.
I essentially agree. But the body needs infusions of vitamins and minerals, and not to be flooded with toxins. The greatest medical invention of the 20th century is the JUICER. As you put less poisonous food into your body (processed & genetically modified food, refined carbohydrates, high-fructose corn syrup, pesticide-ridden, and, yes, cooked foods) and more raw foods and vegetable juices, especially dark leafy greens, you'll be amazed at your uncovered potential.
This is GREAT John! I had really missed you, and this really exposes stuff. Although you dont mention it, but eg Buddhism also suppresses emotion, so I loved your friend's 'I dont trust people who dont get angry' lol. YES!! Let us be real. There IS IS IS a lot to feel angry and deeply emotional about, so let us respect how we feel and feel it. The rest is controlling BS. and some of yous making silly comments here, you dont REALIZE yet the wisdom being shared here...!,,,,YET lol
yes , going throught life chalanges and growing isnt easy, we get stuck, seek for help get diagnosed take meds usually, there is a way out witch is a life long :-D ;
I have never thought im an angry person i was practising: "we all are one" ," love your neigbhour as thyself" "be positive and atract positive" ect. bipolar is a condition caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. In essence it is a physical condition that has a direct effect on the mind.To suggest that it is only a problem because it 'troubles' others is frankly gobsmacking and potentialy life - threatening for the sufferer.I agree in what he says about most of the issues in this video, but lets be clear here, they are not medical issues anyway.
stratocaster539 8 months ago
@stratocaster539 Maybe people who experience extreme highs and lows serve a purpose to society. I would suppose that such people have always existed, but have only recently been labeled with a psychiatric disorder. Before that they were probably regarded as eccentric or a bit touched - and some great geniuses have probably achieved while in a manic phase, filled with extreme self-confidence and "grandiosity". After all, it's only grandiose if you don't finally manage to do something "grand".
roell29 8 months ago
@roell29 Oh yes I'm in full agreement.Trouble is,that bipolar can easily lead to cronic dibilitating depression if it is not aknowledged in an individual, and that sort of depression is compounded by the breakdown of the physical processes within the brain.Purely and simply a clynical condition. To suggest that this should remain untreated when it clearly needs treatment is something I would expect from a scientologist. Correct medication is an essential 'platform' for an individual to recover.

It's all written on my chart
And I take what's given me
Most cooperatively
I do what people say and lie in bed all day
Absolutely horrified
I hope you're satisfied"

Anger is healthy, every human emotion is healthy. Someone dies, we're sad. We get fired, we're angry. Someone lies to me, disappointed. Reality is reality, and we can all control our mental minds. I fake being polite everyday, underneath I am angry at what our social society is and what it has become. Government needs a shutdown, they control too much already, we can take care of ourselves.

the higher your IQ the more you understand the world. the more you understand the world, the more you realize how hard you are getting fucked by it, and how you can never make a difference in the scheme of things. feeling angry or depressed about things that are wrong with the world is a red flag to the people fighting for eternal status quo, so they poison you with drugs that make you more likely to kill yourself, lower your IQ, and render you unable to reproduce.
cyberpsygen7 8 months ago 72
@cyberpsygen7 I am angry at the world because I fully understand what the system is of our society and how fucked up it really is. Working, family, social interaction, I fucking am sick of it, why can't I have true freedom? So what I'm an introvert, doesn't mean I have a mental illness, I fake being polite every single day, I can control my mental mind, even though deep under I'm pissed off at this world, I still stay under control in public because being angry is unacceptable.
