  • I love the movie but even as a kid I wondered why he changed clothes when he became the Wolf Man, he puts on a dark shirt and pants ... but in the scene prior he is in his undershirt ...

  • nothing can beat the old movies like norman wisdom and this

  • I have loved this movie for decades as a child

  • @dawny3216 Me 2

  • Ah, my favorite of the classic Universal monster films!

  • Classic movies are always best. Perhaps some effects are not like today's, but the story-telling is amazing. The acting here is great so many great actors and actresses played in these classic monster movies.

  • Scary, Huh?

  • @cstoczyn You have to realize a lot of us first saw these movies as children when they would be re-run on t.v. during Halloween. So it was scary and that's what we remember. I mean it wasn't scary and hard core like Silence of the Lambs or the Saw movies but it was scary in a more innocent way.

  • BOO!!!!!

  • Happy Halloween!!!!!

  • @cstoczyn Happy Halloween are you going to carve a pumpkin?

  • @cstoczyn Are you going to post a pic. of the pumpkin online?

  • @MegaPatriot123 Well, I'll Try

  • @cstoczyn Awesome.

  • @MegaPatriot123 Thanks

  • FTW

  • Oh no..the quality sucks : (

  • Mindenkit szeretettel várok Lugosi Béci bá és a horror klasszikusok honlapján: a lugosibela.gportal.hu oldalon.

  • @fnugnu RIP Bela Lugosi

  • Nobody, in this day & age, will ever replace that old gypsy woman.

  • werewolf ?? what's that.. little did he know

  • puto

  • @sliderjon1 LOL

  • Obviously the new Wolfman is technologically and even socially superior but this version is so ...comfortable?

  • @deriter64 IDK

  • @deriter64 I didn't like the new one. I watched half of it and left the room it was too much talk. When I watched Lon Chaney in the old one I couldn't leave the room until it was finished and I have seen it about 5 times online.

  • @MegaPatriot123 Me 2

  • "even a man who is pure in heart

and says his prayers by night

    something something something something

    something something ite"

  • @norristerse What?

  • @cstoczyn

it's the poem they keep saying in the film. i've forgot some of it.

  • @norristerse Me 2

  • @norristerse Check The Quotes On The Movie, Alright?

  • @cstoczyn

he says it about 500 times in the film! but i still forgot it.

  • @norristerse Then Go To IMDB And Type The Wolfman, Alright?

  • @cstoczyn

    can't be arsed. thanks anyway!

  • @norristerse You're Welcome

    BTW What Does Arsed Mean?

  • @cstoczyn

it's old english slang for: "bothered". cheers!

  • @norristerse HUZZAH!!!!

  • @cstoczyn

ha ha! you know the poem is the only thing that drives me up the wall about this film. a shame because the character who keeps repeating it is one of my favourite actors- claude rains.

  • @norristerse Mine 2

  • @norristerse Have you seen Claude Raines in " now Voyager"?

  • THEY ARE ALL DEAD LIKE DO DO

  • i was watching a documentary on this and in the original story the wolf man transforms while he's in a confessional. They should've used that for the new one!

  • i like black and white movies they are perfect for me to watch thumbs up if you agree!

  • I so adore the classic's.. I wish there were more of my friends that would like them too..

  • @MsBlackdeath13 I like them and I'll be your friend.

  • @MsBlackdeath13 I like all of the classics and I'll be your friend.

  • @MegaPatriot123 Awesome :D

  • @MsBlackdeath13 Are you n California?

  • @MegaPatriot123 no .. :(

  • @MsBlackdeath13 Well that's what's nice about the internet we can still be friends.

  • @MsBlackdeath13 MMM HMM

  • Im not cristian but is the wolfman really in the bible cause i just started watching this old classic one. I think it said that in the new one

  • @PHANTOMKNIGHT2000 I don't remember anything about wolfmen in the old or new testament.

  • @MegaPatriot123 Me Neither

  • I love these old movies. even though modern movies have all the fancy special effects. However, many of the new movies are much worse than the old movies.

  • 11 people are afraid of The Wolfman

  • @TheSpiralHill I first saw this movie when I was about 10yrs old in the mid 70s. It scared me so much I had to sleep with the light on for a week. I saw this one, "The Mummy", and " The Invisible Man". I think it was on t..v around Halloween.

  • @MegaPatriot123 nice

  • @TheSpiralHill Yeah

  • @MegaPatriot123 Happy Halloween!!!!

  • 6:35 ...u-uhm I'm not sure if I like where this movie is going....

7:25 Ok, Larry look I know you kinda like her and maybe your very ernest, but whatever you do don't be creepy.

    7:45 ...L-Larry...

7:52 Oh... oh god... you just blew your chances at seeming normal...

8:10 YES RUN, RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!

  • @shadowofomen heh heh heh heh

  • guys if u want t know something the wolf that attacked lon chaney jr that was dracula in his wolf form

  • @luigiblox What are you talking about? Where did you hear that?

  • @xJoeEDangerouslyx In the original Dracula movie Dracula could turn into a bat and a wolf and the actor who played Bela, the gypsy werewolf who bit Larry Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr.), is Bela Lugosi the actor who played Dracula.

  • would rather watch an old movie than a new one anyday!

  • @jrwel14

Amen classic movies are always the best:)

  • @DarkMoonGeneral MMM HMM

  • @jrwel14 you've got a point there i love the old movies

  • @jrwel14 Yeah

  • @jrwel14 OMG easily old movies had a lot more substance and a lot less flash. I haven't been to a movie in years. I watch old movies on line and sometimes on the internet when they are available.

  • I absolutely adore Evelyn Ankers, long departed from us. In every one of her movies you may notice that she tended to perspire rather heavily under her arms. In this opening scene with Chaney, look at the wet spot on her red dress. I find this so wonderful because maybe she was nervous during her scenes. She was one of the best 'screamers' in pictures and being nervous on camera, just helped. This is one of the best horror movies ever made. Thanks for posting it, xmamushka!

  • Twilight is 4 pansies...

  • Hollywood should never make re-makes! Now next year they're coming out with a remake of the Creature from the Black Lagoon!... what a disaster! ...and yes! F*** Twilight and Eclipse crap!

  • loved it

  • One of my favourite universal monster movies! This, dracula and the mummy ftw!

  • Was anyone else let down by the remake of this film?

  • @RancidCheese666 dont know still havent seen it...it looked good. But apprently its also based off rl murders that happaned in France. I need to find the history channel special on it lol. So maybe thats why the tweeked the new one partially.

  • @RancidCheese666 Hell yes. I was. They should have stuck more to the original plot and took it easy on the CGI. Honestly, even the moon was CGI'ed. They couldn't film the real moon? I'd comment on the monster make up but there was none, because it was all CGI. In the original Larry kils once during the full moon, In the remake he kills just about *everybody* with no rhyme or reason. The remake plot was for children who don't know what entertainment is so they equate it to lots of people dying.

  • This is the horror film and the role for which Lonnie Chaney,Jr. will always be remembered.

  • lol that bit with the tellescope is actually quite creepy if you think about it.. let the stalk begin

  • man i wanted to see this movie sooo bad now i found it!

  • Werewolf tales are much more suspenseful and creepy. They have all the elements of an entertaining horror experience. The full moon, the wolfbane flower, the secrets, the mystery and suspense make for great story telling compared to any other horror tale, vampires and mummys included. They all pale in comparison.

  • wowwww wat a flirty guy he is!!!!!!in that ERA.......niceeeee

  • "Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolf-bane blooms and the autumn moon is bright."

Probably the best quote from a werewolf movie ever.

  • Yes! The Wolfman is one of my favorite classic monsters. Right up there with Imhotep from "The Mummy" and Frankenstein's monster. I never really liked the Dracula movie though for some reason.

  • @megers67 I think that Universal Studios specialized in horror films. I like way they took modern people(as in people of the 1930s and 40s) and put them in an older, timeless gothic world. There is,of course the fated tragic hero, doomed due to no fault of his own(as the old gypsie woman said)to become a monster. Everything, the shadowy, black and white world, the music, etc created a certain atmosphere.

  • Yes! The Wolfman is one of my favorite classic monsters. Right up there with Imhotep from "The Mummy" and Frankenstein's monster. I never really liked the Dracula movie though for some reason.

  • This is a classic univeral horror movie please stop talking about that cack "Twilight".

  • @ch88ch35 twlight omfg i hate it so much when i here robert or taylor i say shut the fuck up

  • Ugh. WHY are all the comments about twilight, Jesus Christ love her, hate her EITHER WAY YOUR STILL TALKING ABOUT HER. SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MOVIE.

  • whos stephanie meyer?everyone keeps mentioning her

  • @krunckperson HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're funny! I know, isn't that bitch irritating with her books!!! ANd stupid films!

  • @Re9ap9er9 oh she writes books ? aha i have no idea who she is. im just some stoner that could care less

  • @krunckperson Yeah she wrote the "Twilight" series.

  • @Re9ap9er9 ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so thats the bitch responsible for making vamps and werewolves gay

  • Her very own gimic to make a quick buck. Vampires that sparkle in the sunlight and have no fangs or real supernatural powers. Yeah, in fact, a bunch of faggots playing vampires and werewolves. Oh the shame of it all LOL!

  • @Re9ap9er9 yeah

  • Thanks for the upload this is one of my favorite movies. This is a must watch for me every hallowen.

  • lol

  • Everything about this film is pure class. Not terribly scary (though some parts are and it's quite creepy throughout), but it's just a fantastic film.

  • lol this is the grandfather of all werewolf films

  • HEY guys guess what stephanie meyer came out with a new different book is called RESIDENT redicolous is about romantic handsomes vegetarian zombies ;)

  • Twilight is kinda cool in ways. not that cool, but cool. i used to hate it with my life. now i got used to it.

  • The quality sucks. But thanks anyway.

  • a true classic

  • Oh god older than the the oldest old

  • i luv this film lon chaney jr plays the best wolfman! I luv all of his wolfman movie even frakenstien meetsthe wolfman and abbot and costello meets frakenstien which has dracula and the wolfman!

  • Evelyn Ankers is my grandmother

  • @aristotle1900 seriously

  • any one that has not seen this awesome movie is seriously missing out, not even joking. it's the best movie ive watched in over a year, i cannot wait to watch it again at watchtheatrereleases . com and free this time

  • a true classic

  • This movie scared the shit outta me when I was little. Now I love it for the classic it is!

  • The dance when he got his foot stuck in a bear trap the new wolfman was scary and my type of film other than that I thought the original was a parody before I looked up the wolf man I thought their was something before the 1941 comedy The Wolf Man starring Lon Chaney Jr.

  • Or maybe you just don't have the maturity or intelligence to see this movie as the classic art that it it. This is true horror. It's far better than the majority of the crap we get today.

  • Shut your face.

  • I'm not saying that just because it's old means it's instantly good. I'm saying they actually put more effort into the acting and story as a result. The problem with CGI is it's too simple and ultimately lacks effort and realism. It's work isn't able to be appreciated as much. There's no physical presence you can't feel like it's actually there most of the time. What's more the acting in horror today is campy and lacks sympathy. It's like they feel they don't have to try. This did however.

  • You need to judge movies based on their time; for 1941 this was cutting edge technology, of course it isn't going to be comparable to 2010. Common sense, but that does not mean this version is any the less enjoyable today, for those of us who appreciate the classics, without which the new movies would never be made.

  • @skylur44 O I C

  • far better than the recent remake..classic

  • thanks for posting

  • I bought the Creature from the Black Lagoon Universal Collection yesterday. They also have The Invisible Man, The Mummy, Dracula, and The Wolfman Universal Collections! They range from $19.99 - $39.99 on Amazon. When I save my money again I'm getting this one.

    :D

  • Bela <3

  • Subject: A Pathfinders Lenses - men of letter two

Anagram: Wolfman pen - astonish - fleet street - red

  • this movie and the dracula movie made back in 1931 were classics back in those and these days

  • They still are.

    :)

  • great movie i just watched it and it rocks. i also found a site to watch it at lauraspage . info/wolfman

  • The fact that people are still watching and enjoying this movie speaks volumes. I doubt the crap that is coming out today will be popular in 69 years (or even 6).

    Hail Lon Chaney!

  • i thought the same thing until i saw it today. anthony hopkins'spresence is definitely memorable..even if the movie may not be.

  • I wish people would stop mentioning Twilight whenever a Universal Monsters movie comes out.

  • @redrose1088 - thanks for saying what I have been thinking. What the hell "Gibix" post has got to do with this classic, is beyond me!.

  • @ch88ch35 I was talking to someone a few pages back.

  • i love all these old classics. never mind twilight. these and the old hammer horror movies are all you need.

  • Comment removed

  • I like this movie, I'm not even going to go in to twilight though they wern't that bad. But I actuly like this movie.

  • The only problem I have with this good movie is the same I have with most of the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes films--no reason not to set this in the 19th century--you lose so much of the Elizabethan/Edwardian era atmosphere. Cf. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes to the ones set in WW2.

  • This is my favorite werewolf movie. I'm so glad to see the remake. Can't wait!

  • GUYS The whole point is that Jacob dosent even deserve the title of werewolf and that the Wolfman would surely kick is ass any day of the year

  • @Frogerfan0not and im sure if edward went up to a vampire and started sparkling he wouldnt be to intimidated :P

  • The wolfman a pimp! Yeah yeah yeah!

    Woof woof!

  • thanks! xmamushka the wolfman is one of my favorite movies

  • I agree with geoscience Dracula is a real vampire not the twilight vampires. Im not gonna bash on twilight cuz its crap but im just saying the way to make a good romance movie about vampires is right before your eyes! look at bram stokers dracula!! its flawless and I know that thats just how the book is for twilight and I understand. The first twilight film was Terrible!! why people gave such a huge fuck about it I dont know but the sequel new moon wasnt too bad. bad warewolfs tho

  • Guys...I was joking about the whole Twilight thing. I was acting like a Teeny Bopper...Honestly, I have a brain, do you think for one instance that Jacob could ever beat the wolfman in a straight fight???? And the twilight vampires aren't real ones> DRACULA, now that's a vamp :B

  • Oh sorry then geoscience. Glad to know you were just joking about it. Just to clarify I don't mean to be one of those people that will get furious at the very mention of Twilight, but many fangirls today DO say what you pretended to say (like my sister although she admits she hates the characters but still mocks these classics). It's one thing with the series but I can't stand the OBSESSED fangirls who just shove it in you're face. Glad to know you aren't really one of them. Sorry again.

  • It's ok. Just being a parody of the things I hate the most. If it's any consolation, I watched the Wolfman yesterday. He would rip Jacob's head off.

  • @geoscience Sarcasm doesn't work so well when you're writing it.

  • fuck jacob

    im going for larry talbolt

  • no dude im not bashing twilight, ive seen the films, and as a fan of werewolves theryre adaption of the creature sucked, espicually the painless trasntion from human to beast in a matter seconds.

  • what an impressive cast

  • That person has to be a troll . . . no one could be that stupid, right?

  • This is a Classic! Don't try to compare Twilight and that saga to the classics! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Twilight... but don't try to mess with the classics!

  • Ooooo yes I bet she would! And then I bet they'd sit down in the grass and stare at each other and he'd keep telling her how he appreciates her utterly blank personality and they'd play werewolf baseball afterwards!

Really though do NOT compare Twilight to this. Twilight was just a teen romance novel that only got sold because it put monsters in there that do nothing but brood. The classics are far superior. The only good teen monster movie was Ginger Snaps. It didn't make the werewolf a joke.

  • Well, maybe if it weren't so good, it probably would'nt have sold more than this piece of garbage. There's no romance, there's no vampires, what the douce???? I suggest anybody who watches this film, prepare to be disappointed, thoroughly! You want real vampire and werewolf action? Watch Twilight. I'm going to write to stephenie meyer and ask her to included Frankenstein's monster in the next book. Maybe Renesmee would get swooned by the teenaged Frank..now that would make a good book!

  • Don't call them vampires. Their just vampires in name. Bela Lugosi was 100,000 times sexier and cooler than they were. Besides this sold plenty and is still a classic. Twilight will probably go out in a few years when it's fans grow up. As for Frankenstein's Monster that's idiotic. He's a guy made out of dead bodies and his book was FAR better Meyer claims to have gotten Twilight off of a dream, but it sure didn't work as well for her as it did for Mary Shelley.

  • how dare you the wolfman was the most influentiul werewolf in history

lawrence talbolt is the best werewolf ever to fuck with twilight man you dont know what the classics are hell im fuckin 14 and i know what the classics are

if stephanie myers makes a frankestien or zombie book then she is gonna die

and then she can make a romance of satan when she meets him in hell!!!

  • well said, i totally agree.

your only 14? and there i thought i was the only one as young as that watching this. XD
