  • Does it weigh about the same as a kubotan?

  • @Shrimpgoldfish ...It probably weighs more...a regular kubaton (polymer) is about 1 oz. the pocket shark comes in at 1.9 oz.

  • Im looking up that pen now. Is it more a marker or a ink pen?

  • @snakedoctorcharmer ...marker.

  • Yeah Kick someones ass with a pen

  • I bet that guy dosn't need this to break boards. It's probably easier for him to do without it.

  • Why do people always show this test? Why the board lines are, it is very easy to brake!!!! Very!!!!! If you turned it 90 degrease left, then you try to break it!

For this thing to break you only need your hand or ordinary pan !

  • @SatansBaby1 ...assisted breaks like these are common demonstrations in Martial Arts.

Post a video of you breaking your hand...uh I mean a board the way you described it..."Time to nut-up or SHUT-UP!"

  • @SatansBaby1 i love people who sit at their computer and talk trash

  • What was the condition of the pen afterwards?

  • @Doubledig ...no damage.

  • how long did you bake the boards for

  • @useaknife ..maybe that's something you would do but, not something I would...lol!

And rude to question my integrity when you don't even know me.

  • so its a impact tool? how would u use it towards a person? like punch or side punch?

  • @bossman12334 ...like a "Kubaton"...hammer-fist strikes (like in the video), reverse hammer-fist, loaded fist, on pressure points, etc...

  • FEAR MY!!!...pencil...DIEEEEE, then I draw mustaches on them to oblivion.

  • I bet you can do that with your bare hands...pen seems pointless unless your going to right a letter/essay :)

  • its not like this is hard to do without that device

  • @bloodseedrums ...10-4...kind of like using a car to "drift." lol!

  • @bloodseedrums OK, you try it, maybe you'll think differently if you break your hand.

  • @bloodseedrums you try it, break your hand, then come back and say that.

  • boards dont hit back

  • @zolo365 ...yeah well if you don't use proper technique they do...lol!

  • @HELLZZARMY - too right brother. Seen almost as many broken bones as broken boards. ;-)

  • @zolo365 been hanging on that bloodsport movie didnt ya ?!

  • in school? no weapon all u need is soda and a finger.. we all know that cocacola can cean the posts of a car battery right?? all u have to do is wet ur finger and swipe thje bugger in the eye.. they wil scream like a cat that just had a firecracker up hiz azz..... trust me.. then walk away calmly ..must be done real fast! & go.

  • Im not even going to hate this time since u have shitload of weapons.

  • haha i gotta have one of these pens, much better than a kubaton, and less obvious as a tool.

  • look at lil bunnys in the bak and i got one of those pens 2 there sick

  • im just curious on what type of martial arts you practice.

i practiced hap ki do for 5 years

  • @metalguitarguy95 ...I'm an Assistant Instructor in Wado-Ryu style Karate. but, my focus is my 11 yr old son Yoshi' training. He's earned his Black-Belt at 9 after 5 years of training. He still trains in karate but, Escrima (Stick/Knife-Fighting) is next.

  • Where can I buy this pocket shark besides online? u guys know any stores? pls reply asap thanks

  • here... just.. just.. just take my money ! ARGHH

  • well, normally you wouldn't scare me at all, Mr. 250 pound, Wado-Ryu Karate black belt. But IF you've got that big marker (which actually writes!! buy one today!), then I'll rethink crossing you. =P

  • Why did the wood split so...clean? @_@

  • @KyoruMizuruki ..."TECHNIQUE"...I'm not a power-lifter or football player trying to blast and/or force the break.

I'm an Assistant Instructor in Wado-Ryu Karate...an trained Karateka with experience in "Tamashi Wari"-board-breaking.

And you WANT a clean break..."power-breakers" forcing the break risk a bad break...shards of wood can return, penetrating your arm(s) or body as oppossed to a controlled break.

  • @KyoruMizuruki ...Technique, skill, and the Art can not be explain thoroughly here. you have to train. Not to mention...practice, practice, practice...

  • @KyoruMizuruki ...watch my other assisted board-breaking videos...

  • @KyoruMizuruki thats cuz of the structure of the wood.

ull see the same thing happen with most martial artists breaking planks.

they always use the same wood apparently.

i wonder why that is.... lol

  • @KyoruMizuruki physics dude.

  • @KyoruMizuruki

Cause the grain of the wood

  • And another board bites to dust.

  • I wonder if this would be legal to carry around in Ontario, Canada?

I'm not sure where to find the specifics of that.

  • I love how clear the boards break. Its intense to think that even something not even an inch thick like this shark can still manage to not only split the boards but maintain the clean break.

  • @XGeneralBeanX ...well my technique contributed a little too...lol!

  • @HELLZZARMY Well of course. Because regardless of how good the tool is it is still just a tool and a tool is only as useful as the wielder can make it. And you do a pretty darn good job.

  • my only only ONLY dislike about the shark is that the marker really isnt permanent, its merely a felt pen....

  • i am looking for an edc weapon that could knock somebody clean out, i don't to martial arts but i do boxing, so i don't know how to smash boards n shit, but i want an effective tool that i don't need to practice much with. is this for me in your opinion? thanks

  • @Vsca ...have you seen my videos on the Comtech Stinger II. As a boxer you know how to throw a punch...this little device increases your punch effectiveness...

  • @HELLZZARMY yeah sadly i am not allowed to carry one due to local law (uk laws are shit)so i am pretty much confined to stuff that doesn't look like a weapon.

  • wow this proves to me how powerful the grivory is now thanks for vid!

  • What are you trying to write?

    Perhaps I could help?

  • @loki1066...'Brain-Smasher"...thanks but, I think I nailed it...lol!

  • Thats bullshit. Why did those snap in a nice straight line?

  • Apparently you never done "Tamashi Wari" or any kind of board-breaking.

The line is not straight but, it is with the grain. This is the normal result when breaking 1" pine board when using your fist or other object.

  • that makes sense, it was hard to see the grain. I used to break those in my woodshop class with my bare fist all the time and then turn the new piece 90 degrees to let others try. Ouch!

  • you can write with this kubaton :P nice

  • How well would this work as a loaded fist?

  • Would work great...it pretty solid.

  • finally a self defense weapon i can bring to school

  • 10-4...

  • @bradsterfordawin actually, u could get the normal yawara or kubotan or a pen knife if u dont unscrew it

  • @bradsterfordawin There's another alternative to this which is the kubotan, you can look it up and it's pretty cheap too.

  • Comment removed

  • great vids keep them comming

  • this piece is amazing. I put mine through a half inch sheet of plywood! *****

  • Hey cool video but can the sharkie actually write and be used as a pen or is the tip sharp in a fashion to be used as another weapon?

  • It's an actually sharpie-type pen [that works-non refillable] with a screw on cap that doesn't pop off when striking...

  • You are a Karate master eh? How about the fact that you put about 450 pounds of pressure on an area smaller than an inch......

  • not a Karate Master...just an Asst. Instructor...don't know how much pressure was applied.

Did feel 18 lbs. of pressure per sq. in . at sea level (gravity)...lol!

  • Hmmm, it seems that this time, the pen is mightier than the sword.

  • @TehSmexican the wood

  • Where can you get these?

  • Cold steel, any gun or knife shop, eBay...just run a search in google...

  • Great video, i have the old model, but bought the new one because i didn't want to use it. 5/5

  • thanks...old or new...it will still do the job...lol!

  • Like the discription on the site says:"It's the biggest, baddest, permanent marker around!" Are they right or are they right? I absolutely want one of theese!

  • They're right...it's a real working marker. But, obviously it can be used as a Kubaton or Tactical Impact Device...

  • Great Video! 5/5

But I have a question. Shouldnt you follow though with the hammer strike? Yes or No

  • No I'm not trying to plow my way throught the board it's all about technique. If I was fighting I'm punching, chopping striking through my enemy.

Watch my 5 or 7 board-break withe Comtech Stinger II. I'm trying to use proper technique...my fist don' go past board 2 or 3 if that. Or my 3 and 5 board break front stomp kick...notice how my foot didn't stomp through straight to the grass

  • Technique=clean controlled breaks

Forcing/Muscling/Plowing=uncontolled breaks resulting in injury to the hand or foot. Would you want a large chunk or shard of would coming back at you.

Newton's 3rd Law of physics...for every action ther is anequal and opposite reaction...BOARDS DO HIT BACK!!!

  • Is this an actual marker as well? I always thought that under the cap, was some carbide tipped point for striking? Thanks for the video.

  • yup.. a real marker.

  • WOW I am going to have to re think this whole Sharkie thing. I never really paid attention to it. I got one as a gift when I purchased several items from COLD STEEL for Christmas presents. I think it's going in my pocket when I leave the house from now on.

  • Yup...just another option.

  • 10-4

  • THIS IS ACTUALLY A REALLY TOUGH MARKER , I HAVE THE ORIGINAL GREY AND BLACK VERSION WHEN COLDSTEEL WAS CALLING IT THE "SHARKIE" but unfortunatly they had 2change it because it looked2 much like THE SHARPIE , which is an actual marker, MY VERSION IS LIKE AN UNBREAKABLE GRIVORY YAWARA STICK DISGUISED AS A BIG MARKER

  • Stop embarrassing yourself by breaking something even my grandma' could break with her old thumb !

  • 1ST off your comment has to be approved HATER...2ND post a video of you grandma breaking boards with her thumb and...OH! FIRST YOU HAVE TO BUY A VIDEO CAMERA TO POST A VIDEO...LMAO!!!

  • the only thing his grandma is going to break is her hip...LOL!

  • lol!!!

  • your comment was approved...so everyone can see what a IDIOT YOU ARE...and to see what we're LAUGHING AT...LOL!

  • ha!ha!ha!ha! That's funny...break her hip...ROFLMFAO!!!

  • A sharpie on freakin STEROIDS!!!!

  • Yup...lol!

  • Lottta guys do lot of table top reviews and stuff but not a lot will actually take it to the woods or outdoors and test it out in their videos. That's why your videos are cool to watch because you actually show it to people like us. I hope you don't stop doing these videos, keep them rolling. 5*s

  • as long as this "hobby" stays fun...thanks

  • Thanks Paul...somebody asked me if I can break boards with my hands why do theses types of videos.

I told him to demo/test the device and to be ORIGINAL.

Everyone does some type of table top review...I don't know of anyone else doing this...OSU!!!(KARATE EXPRESSION)

  • 5/5

  • thanks...

  • dude i went to the gun show, and my uncle bought one of these...and we kept bashing him, but no it seems pretty kool

  • I think it is...sand off the cold steel/shark labels and it's just a black permanent marker which should get through screening and be allowed on the plane...lol

  • you know what you should do make a knukle duster demo.

  • 10-4...I'm planning to break a few concrete slabs with my titanium knuckles...OSU!!!(KARATE EXPRESSION)

  • one question why do ppl do that yelling thing in martial arts...we do a similar thing in boxing but no noise is that the same idea? help wit breathing?

  • The hell help you put some more force into the strike not sure how thought.

  • It helps us focus our energy, it comes from the diaphram not the throat, it also helps to strengten your body for the hit or impact to come...there's more to it than that but, this is just my limited knowledge on the subject...yeah we always focus our breathing and never hold our breath...OSU!!!(KARATE EXPRESSION)

  • Already got one on order.

    :-)

  • Alright...

  • urban chetto-style pen,.. i love this one men,. w0ow

    5outa5 for this one,.

grtz and have a nice day,.

  • thanks again...

  • I apologize for my ignorance, but can any object stronger than wood be used to break boards - provided you have the proper technique?

  • No ignorance man...sure say you had a real hammer obviously you could blast right through it. But, technique helps you do the break more efficiently and avoid injury. It's hard to explain in a short period...

  • i used it bouncing last night.

  • "the pen is mightier than the sword"...hey J...

  • this fat pen means business :p

  • think that pen really leaves a mark on anyone dumb enough to mean harm

  • Probably...but, I think a mark would be the least of the injuries to worry about.

  • Certainly wish they had those back before I started Iron Knuckle training....

  • know what you mean...even these breaks were no picnic. the boards fold in more sandwiching my knuckles...lol

  • Nice marker. lol.

  • yup...but, like I tell my associates I'm gonna shoot that "TANGO" ! before I do any "CHOP SUEY" shit...lol

  • Sweet.

I gotta get one of THEM asap.

  • YUP...inexpensive, practical (really is a pen), and well-made/solid construction would really mess someone up if this was one of your options if attack. Or last resort against multiple attackers.

Personally I like multiple attackers(3-5) because you can hit anybody, used them against each other...but, I wouldn't know anything about stuff like that...lol!

  • Multiple attackers is almost like insurance against law suits... lol.

  • lol! If all possible I and/or "WE" don't stick around for 5.0

Littlle faith in our judicial system-complaint, arrest, and the prosecution. giving out statements, filling out forms, and then the trail...UGH!!! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. then say the suspect gets only a slap on the wrist or (6) months in jail.

Or worst case scenario I get arrested for beating up say (3) guys or shooting and/or killing my attacker.

  • Better to do the deed and leave(ofcourse hopefully w/ no witnesses). But, I wouldn't know anything about stuff like that...lol

    Good point though...

  • lol... I'm with you on your points too, obviously.

The less paperwork, the better. Heh.

  • Excellent

  • thanks...

  • Excellent
