I love the line "Imagine all the people, living for the day". That's a much more powerful thought to me than simply imagining there's no heaven.

The point is that the idea of heaven prevents us from putting our full efforts into making a heaven on earth. When people believe there are better things waiting for them in the afterlife, as long as they follow whatever ludicrous guidelines, they go as far as sacrificing their own bodies for later rewards. "There's no heaven" means we have to make our heaven, "If you want it"
