  • How would you guys rate SPREAD and SPECIAL on the difficulty factor?

  • For dedicated, yes it was tough one, but she could have also said a new ship; that is something more known with a dedication than a bldg. The time Nathan Cook got things that are enshrined to win for the contestant who gave clues, that was unbelievable, BUT she had given before and she gave GREAT clues for enshrined.

  • 6.21.3.11

  • I saw this like the highest-winning "JACKPOT" win from the game show "JACKPOT" 1985-88 or 1989-90 version. My choice was the 1985-88 version. From December 25, 1988 or 1991.

  • She was a doll when I knew her back then, We both worked at WB. She bought a house in Vegas and moved from LA. Back then a $70k house got you 3 bedrooms, 2 baths etc. in Vegas

  • @dtw1958 You know Teresa Mueller? Nice!! I bet she remembers her reign on Pyramid fondly!

  • Teresa Mueller and Dianne Prince were two of the three contestants that were in the first tournament. Does anybody know the third contestant by any chance?

  • @Sjsuman5000 Debbie Sterron. :-)

  • yes it's $100,000!

  • @atlanta4950 Duh. It was corny. Why did Dick Clark had to host and co-create "The Challengers"? Huh??? And large crowds of people didn't come up on stage like they used to when Dick did the first-run version. And John's telling people to "line up"!! And another thing, why, oh why, was that new version at Studio 31 instead of the Bob Barker Studio??? Lousy, lousy, TRIPLE lousy!

  • @atlanta4950 How would you Spend $100,000?

  • @KJdaBlackBandit Yeah. Never...

  • These are my Favorite Winner's Circle Moments, where Contestants attempt to win $100,000.

  • Does anybody have the whole 1st tournament week of the Davidson version?

  • Dedicated was tricky itself

  • @nextbarker So was Things in the COUNTRY---That too was subjective.

  • Thanks for stomping all over the celebration, John Davidson

  • @646guy That one wasn't as bad as some of his later ones. At least he let them jump around for a few seconds before cutting in.

  • This first tournament actually took 7 attempts.

  • Would you guys consider "Things that are DEDICATED" a $100,000 answer?

  • The dumb thing is on Donnymid, they would not have accepted "Things with a dedication" for "things that are dedicated".

Almost like the network had to offer the money, but didn't want anyone to win it!

  • John Davidson can't touch Dick Clark or Bill Cullen, but he certainly can't touch the Pyramid Phenom Adrienne Barbeau.

    Great Clues.

  • I actually liked this version with John Davidson. He can't be compared to Dick Clark or Bill Cullen,of course, but he did put his own stamp on the Pyramid franchise and I only wish it had lasted longer.

  • She really was one of the best there was at the show. One of only THREE celebs to have two wins for $100,000.

  • That's right

and the other 2 were Pyramid Diva Shelley Smith and TV Veteran Barry Jenner from Dallas and Family Matters

Shelley, Barry and Adrienne have each given away $100,000 to 2 Contestants Each and Barry was the only on to do so during the Dick Clark Era and the John Davidson Era, but Adrienne had also appeared on Donnymid and the short-lived $50,000 Pyramid when she head to head w/Levar Burton of Rading Rainbow, Roots and Star Trek: TNG Fame and John can't even mess w/Shelley Smith

  • if that had been me I'd be all "Hey judge can we use the coo-coo for the Illegal sound that buzzer scares the crap out of me"

  • The buzzer on the 70s version was louder and more obnoxious!

  • Why didn't the trilons didn't go back and forth?

  • They did as they went to commercial. :-)

  • 100,000.00 is a huge amount during that time. well untill now.

  • Shoot... $100,000 to me (especially in this day and age) would be a blessing. :-)

  • I hate the "John Davidson era" :p

  • Why was Dick Clark ever replaced??

  • At the time, he was already hosting another syndicated game show, The Challengers, so John Davidson took the helm in the 1991 version of The $100,000 Pyramid

  • I thought it might have lasted longer on network television. This was in syndication and I had to set my alarm to get up in the wee hours of the morning to watch it at 2:30.

  • bs =(

  • Great clues from one of the great Pyramid players, Adrienne Barbeau.

  • In addition to new buildings, I would have said songs on the radio.

  • That would have been buzzed; you can't use prepositional phrases. "Radio songs" would have been a better way of putting it.

  • Nice catch, man!

  • **Buzzer**

  • Ok, judge, I get the hint now, lol. Perhaps I got a little too descriptive, right?

  • No Songs on the Radio for you.

  • Richard Mahaffey and Teresa Mueller's $100,000 WINS are just two of the best wins in $100,000 Pyramid History.

  • The winner's acting like she was just crowned Miss America. lol.

  • I think most of the female $100K winners are like that. :p

  • True, women do show more emotion then us men.

  • That was the whole charm of the Pyramid,my friend!

  • great show

  • Course when Uncle Same got through she only got nine dollars and twenty cents. lol

  • lmao

  • This and the second one have the best celebrations.

  • In the second $100,000 victory of the 1991 run, the trilons wiggled like crazy; even more so than usual I mean.
