This was so nice to start the day out with today! Beautifully written and performed! You guys blended really well together on the harmonies too! *****
Hey Tom. How you doing? Just stopped in to say hello and to hear this one again... who that is that jackass on the bass? oh that was me, haha. It was pristine recording we did there wasn't it. You and Jack need put up some more songs. You are missed on here. Talk to you later. -Ron
Well . .I loved that, Tom, just the right length. It was nice to see 'ravel' in a lyric. On the S.W. coast of the U.K. the fisherman use the term to descibe the sort of choppy sea which is best to net-fish for bass.
Sweet refrain, too. I could imagine I was in my local folk club, with some local boys giving it their all, between several beers. Nice one! 5* _STu-
what I mean by that is I think I inadvertantly ripped off a fundamental line of your song. goddammit, between this and losthill's 'Sister Maria' and Townes 'The Rake' I pretty much ripped off my whole song. I'm going to puke now.
LOL No need to, my friend. I once thought I had a great one going until I realized I'd ripped off the entire melody to Dylan's, "When I Paint My Masterpiece"...note for note. And the idea for the lyric was similar, too. Can you imagine the gall of thinking I could write something like that?
The subconscious mind is a real nut-cracker every now and then. :)
Robby, thanks so much. I admire your taste and your insight, and for you to have taken the time means a lot. But I've got to give credit where credit is due; Ron's harmony and bass line play a huge part in how the song ultimately sounds. He's such a talented man, and a heck of a nice guy, too.
It still sounds great to me Tom. I know think we should have pulled up your great guitar licks underneath up in the mix. Hope to be hearing more from you soon my friend. You are one great writer. -Ron
Thanks again, my friend. I think they're alright where they sit...makes folks listen a little harder. :) But I do think I'll stay away from the 8+ minute tunes for awhile. LOL
Tom and Ron, this is a great collab. Awesome harmonies. Love the lyrics. Very enjoyable experience. Thanks. Will you do your own version of Willie Nelson's song A Peaceful Solution in your own style? Love to feature you on Willie's Peace site. Willie gives full freedom with style and lyric changes and additions. I know I've already asked you but I thought it was worth another shot. I can hope.Liz
You know Tom Willie would never have made it as far as he has if he thought he had to live up to the greats before him. When Willie really made it big was when he decided to be himself. That's all Willie wants from you. Be the best you can be. No one judges you as harshly as you judge yourself. Willie just wants voices for peace. I hope you will give it a shot. Liz
Wow This is just Awesome! Tom ,I love it it has many different groups sounds to me . put into my favorites 5 * great song and thanks Ron for the share :) and work too!
This is an amazing song Tom, really. It has that Bob Dylan epic feel to it: Like A Rolling Stone, It's All Over Now Baby Blue, A Hard Rains Gonna Fall, etc..., but of course it is all Tom Meirose :o) Your performance on this was pristine. Your guitar and vocal are perfect. I thank you for allowing me to play and sing with you. It was a great honor for me.
Hi there Tom! It's so great to hear a new original from you! Lovely singing both lead vocals and backing vocals! So cool that you've been working with Ron too. He's a good friend of mine here on YT and a wonderful singer and songwriter too! Great job you two!
Queen Anne, it's so nice of you to have taken the time. Thank you for your kind words.
Ron is a good friend to many of us, and a very cool guy. And maybe it's just me, but by some strange happenstance the man in the background of this photo looks a heck of a lot like Ron to me. Doesn't he?
great song Tom! i love the way that your voice combines with Ron's and i love your lyrics. makes me think of fly fishing trips with my father. =) keep on keepin on Tom, it looks like you are doing great.again, i love your greatlyrics.
Thanks, Dan.
I really like the things you're writing, as well.
Take care, my friend.

Thank you, from both Ron and myself, Liz.
And it's always worth another shot. I just have to get past the notion of trying to come up to the standards of a man I have so much respect for.
That isn't going to happen, but doing the song certainly still might.
Take good care, my friend.
