Not gonna lie: I went all the way back to page 26 of comments (the beginning) and then onward until I found out who the two in Nerdfighter-Like were. :)
Since you brought up the facial symmetry thing yourself, would now be a good time to mention that I love how lopsided your ears are? It's sort of adorable.
well i know you sold at least one, because there's one at my library. sadly, though, it's scratched, and the last cd is ruined and i can't listen to it.
Ah yes, the writers' strike. It did lead to the production of Doctor Horrible though so I'm really on the side of the writers, even if it did lead to a season of weirdness in a lot of the American programmes I watched.
@colebeep the author would get paid for selling the first copy to the library, but not paid for however many times that book is loaned out to people. Fortunatly, awsome Nerdfighters like John Green would much rather you read thier books (or any book for that matter) than get paid for it.
Ok, so I'm watching a lot of the earlier vids and I got to the secrete nerfighter like stuff, and now I wanted to know who it was. I can't see the vid you linked (probably b/c its so old and was taken down or somethnig), so who were the two people?
@mercat12 I think I was wrong. I think. Unless there were two cases of nerdfighterlike. But if it's the same one, then I THINK he says it in a video before the year is over. Good luck finding it- I forget who it was.
why oh why is the video private? i wanted to see it so bad, i imagined several different ways in which i hacked into the youtube system to see it. i am not a computer hacker and so none of the ways made sense.
sadly the video is privated because those two people are no longer in nerdfighter-like and have in fact handed the channel over to a succession of other people in nerdfighter-like

no i want to see the nerdfighter cuteness! why id it private! nerdfighters share everything! thats the whole idea of brother hood 2.0 to share hank and john's lives with the world (wel really just each other but the world watches) so you have to let us see the cuteness!
I know me too. I think it is alex and becky what do you think. I think this simply because their channel is nerd fighterlike... although right now they are experiencing dislike

John, I say to you.. thanks again for bring your knowledge of this to the masses and sharing your thoughts and prospective with everyone. Not everyone is that familiar with how the divisions work and who gets which piece of the pie. I believe that the divisions have been wrong since the begininning of time, but I am but 1 mind and 1 voice. You always have a may to make my wee brain of 1 think harder.
Something which my father always taught his children (especially when 1 was being a smartypants), no matter how much you think you know, in reality, is so miniscule of what you do not know. That kept all his kids humble. Kept himself as well.
...(cont.)(BTW this is only the parts i remember) then for some reason i was under a bed and for some reason john you looked under the bed and i whispered "John Green? I'm a nerdfighter." And then i don't remember the rest but it was very happy. and then i woke up and i was reaalllyyy upset that didn't happen in real life. and also in the dream, john you looked more like hank.
i was with my teacher in this place and i saw you john green. for some reason in the dream you were my teacher's brother and i was thinking oh yeah i THINK i remember john saying something about a sister name alexandra(not true)...(cont.)
This is completely excellent points in here the nerdfighters are making. Greed makes people do the most sad things to one another. There is plenty of the pie to go around, but the greed prevents it. Although they are on strike, and will be there a long time, that is the principle own why they film in advance so many weeks. (continued)
For some of the shows they are 4, 8, 10, 12 episodes "in the can" for such events. That is their little method of being prepared, for the networks. This gives them the edge over the strikers, who will have to suffere a while without anything coming in. For those struggling with families, this can be a make or break.
the people i worry most in the strike is the stage hands and the grips...
the issue that screen writing has over just being a novelist is the fact that more than them goes into the production of the film/show, there are actors and crew and camera and lighting, all those gotta get paid too... and now I don't worry about the actors but the crew probably dont get paid as well as the rest of them :3 so i worry that the writers are disrupting work for them more than anyone else..
But this is actually true of novels also, although people don't usually think about. Novels are also collaborative: There are designers who work on the type and the jacket, proofreaders who check for errors, publicists and sales people who help the book get to the audience. If novelists stopped working en masse, a lot of people would be out of work other than novelists So there is no difference there to me. -John
yea but you don't have a 50 man crew dragging around crates and cameras and and sets, and costume designers, and make-up designers, special effects designers, set designers, etc. theres still more people number-wise that go into producing a film (and most of those people don't get "residuals" like the writer would...) and those are the people I worry about the most in this situation, because they aren't paid as well as the actors/writers
either way I'm still agreeing with you all I'm saying is that the writer's strike is not only stopping the producers but possibly thousands other "innocent" people as well and the networks need to step up and do something about it instead of being asses about it..
the whole thing just pisses me off. I don't even really watch television online let alone on the TV..
But that can be the case in nearly an strike. If pilots, for example, go on a strike that creates a deficit in pilots, less planes go in the air meaning less work for mechanics and stewards and ramp crew, etc. So the screen writers aren't partaking in a strike that is having effects no other ordinary strike would.
Not too mention, if I understand it correctly, the networks can exercise bringing in "scab" talent like so many companies target of a strike have done before. I don't know if the networks are doing that or not, but, the way I see it, their decision not to bring in non-union work is causing the job freeze for the workers in related positions.
John might have more knowledge then me on this, but my current understanding is that the networks are doing exactly that, not adequately replacing screenwriter talent or replacing this talent at all trying to make the screenwriters look like whiners and the villians of this situation.
due to the union and their contracts with the networks they CAN'T bring in other writers, thats how hollywood works >:[ (it's either guild/union or nothing)
So instead their "fall back plan" is to put out more "reality shows" which is pure bull because reality shows are only good for freaks like Chris Crocker and in no way would I want to watch retarded drama like that (it's one of the things that drove me away from TV in the first place)
haha...i love that book...i just finished it...its awsome...i laughed so much...and i liked especially all this german stuff...HEYYY...it was so great...well...there was one mistake though...mein Held...well the "h" has to be a capital letter, because its a subject...;)...*nerdy*
I like it when someone lends a hand to a fellow nerdfighter like you just did. In the literary world it is important that they are correct. I giggle when I find mistakes in newspapers, books, etc. Even online from those who are professionals in the field. That was nice of you to help like that. w00t!
I didn't understand any of that writers going on strike thing, but now I GET IT!! Thanks, John, for an understandable explanation. And, I sleep with my laptop when I'm away from home, so I think that alone makes me a nerdfighter.
Was the video always private?

Something which my father always taught his children (especially when 1 was being a smartypants), no matter how much you think you know, in reality, is so miniscule of what you do not know. That kept all his kids humble. Kept himself as well.

Thanks so much for this video, John - the stuff about copyright, royalties and the reasons behind the writers' strike was really helpful!!!

Thanks for explaining this strike, I really wasn't sure what it was about.

however i think that the networks should have negotiated all this a while ago just to cover all their bases >:[
I'm really sick of hearing about this and the networks need to step up and do something about it.

JaddziaDaxAMV 4 years ago

JaddziaDaxAMV 4 years ago
either way I'm still agreeing with you all I'm saying is that the writer's strike is not only stopping the producers but possibly thousands other "innocent" people as well and the networks need to step up and do something about it instead of being asses about it..
the whole thing just pisses me off. I don't even really watch television online let alone on the TV..
JaddziaDaxAMV 4 years ago
But that can be the case in nearly an strike. If pilots, for example, go on a strike that creates a deficit in pilots, less planes go in the air meaning less work for mechanics and stewards and ramp crew, etc. So the screen writers aren't partaking in a strike that is having effects no other ordinary strike would.
egoemer 4 years ago
Not too mention, if I understand it correctly, the networks can exercise bringing in "scab" talent like so many companies target of a strike have done before. I don't know if the networks are doing that or not, but, the way I see it, their decision not to bring in non-union work is causing the job freeze for the workers in related positions.
egoemer 4 years ago
John might have more knowledge then me on this, but my current understanding is that the networks are doing exactly that, not adequately replacing screenwriter talent or replacing this talent at all trying to make the screenwriters look like whiners and the villians of this situation.
egoemer 4 years ago
due to the union and their contracts with the networks they CAN'T bring in other writers, thats how hollywood works >:[ (it's either guild/union or nothing)
So instead their "fall back plan" is to put out more "reality shows" which is pure bull because reality shows are only good for freaks like Chris Crocker and in no way would I want to watch retarded drama like that (it's one of the things that drove me away from TV in the first place)
