  • i also want to make this type of one can someone help/???????????

  • MANEIRO

  • uhh arnt all nitro engines deisel because they use 90 percent castor oil and if not then they use gasoline as the replacement of nitromethane correct

  • were did you get the Diesel head. ?

  • This motor really burns diesel???

  • Very nice done & you still can set the compression. But I think the torque of the motor is much lower now , because diesel burns with much more calories.

  • and i thought nitro buggies where a weird hobby.

Dont wanna sound rude but, whats the point in this "bench testing"? Do these motors end up in models or do you do this to burn fuel?

come up with new fuel mixes?

sorry but i realy cant understand why youd do this.

  • Normally diesels require special starting techniques. I found a way to start them as easily as glow engines.

To get an idea as to how well that engine powers an airplane, do a search on Google Video for,

    Norvel Diesel Minisport

  • I enjoy experimenting and trying new ideas. For instance, I have come up with a hybrid engine/fuel that uses all green fuels. That means renewable fuel. A variation on Bio diesel. This concept gives you the high torque characteristics of diesel while retaining the easy handling of gas or glow fuel.

And yes, I do fly these engines, you'll note my very first submission shows a plane with a diesel engine that's being started with a spring starter.

  • Thanks for elaborating a bit more lol, I sorta get it now.... great hear that these engines dont just spend all their life bolted to a bit of wood too, that they actualy get used as they where meant to be.

    Have fun and thanks again.

  • @watsdissniffinere you break in the engines and make shure they run right before you take em up in the air so theres less chance of failure

  • Hey maybe you could connect that screw in head thing to the throttle linkage with like a hydraulic delay device or something to give it better response. That way it increases the compression when you step on it then it goes back to normal.

  • I would put that in something better than a drill press vice?

  • It looks crude but it works quite well. I can set up an engine easily and without much fuss.

  • nice. i bet your neighbours love you XD

  • Yes, you can see some of my videos are taken at night. The nightime, Bio diesel runs were done after 11PM and that's our noise curfew. This did attract the attention of the local lawmen. They were so intrigued by the work that they let me off with a warning. I never did that again, of course.

  • lol lucky

  • Brilliant stuff. I always wished I could change the compression on my glow engines to fine tune them for different props.

  • Thanks,, only because of the way Norvels are made was this possible.

  • i love that sound

  • i almost bought the same engine for 50bucks from some guy at a fun fly event wish i would have

  • nice sound! :D

  • very good effort. to get the most of this variable compression ratio, or VCR engine, you also need to alter the air intake according to compression.

this what SAAB did in their latest engine.

    well done

  • ha VCR engine: lol

  • jeeez that damn pistons gona wear out in seconds if u run it like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is it possible to dieselize my 37 heli engine? would it be a good idea?

  • im just curious, i was always wondering about these sort of things, are they actualy diesel engines, or what?, they run off strickly compression, no spart or wtf lol, i know nothing about them, anyhow, clue me in on this shit, send me a message, i wanna ticker around someday into making a little diesel engine for like a mower or some shit lol

  • well, i think its only possible to make one with a glow plug type engin so ya i think you can't do it with any old engine

  • Wow! It's really? Do you have truck's engine? I liked be test pilot!!

  • Wow!!! It's really? mmmm Do you have a truck's engine dieselized? I liked be test pilot!!!
