  • FENDER!!!!!! STRAT onlyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!

  • this kids a crybaby bitch in his description.

  • it really pisses me off when people compare an epi to a fender an epi isnt even a fucking proper les paul a proper les paul is a gibson les paul.. a gibson les paul you can compare to the strat the only reason you buy an epi is if you cant afford a gibson and you will see slash or jimmy page with there proper les pauls and you will be ashamed

  • @alan989100 I'm pretty sure that's a mexican strat which is the the equivalent of an epiphone.

  • @Ryokan01 fair enough but not if its a cheap epi

  • @alan989100 Well, I don't exactly play Les Pauls So I can't really tell was this a standard or an L100?

  • Comment removed

  • LES PAUL FTW!!!!!

  • les pauls are less versatile than the strat, which can fit comfortably into any genre pretty much, including metal if you wish. since the les paul runs on humbuckers, it generally struggles with cleans more, although i do love me a nice gibson powerchord. fender all the way though!

  • with that distortion you are murdering their voice..

  • epi

  • Epiphone by far!

  • LES PAUL OWNS

  • Strrat! Epiphone is not good at all... Les pauls are but not epiphones... Even though this is les paul but it is still epiphone so yeah....

  • strotocaster

  • Fender any day!!!!

  • strat

  • That is some rough distortion! No tone in it.

  • epi all the way

  • strat over any epi

  • les paul!!!!!!!!!

  • pedal distortion use???

  • the best of the best is gibson fendeeer baddd!!

  • Gibson- heavier, harder, ruch

Fender- cleaner (perhaps?), good for solos and/or jazz

  • STRAT

  • the LP hands down

  • the LP hands down

  • STRAAT

  • The Fender won, hands down. But you need a Marshall or Line 6 amp to really test them. And try the Gibson playing Prog. By the way, this is coming from a guy who goes to Guitar Center more than 2 times a month just to play the stuff thay have.

  • No Contest!!! Fender Stratocaster Hands Down!!!

  • You latter can better determine who Gibson or Fender Besides Every company has a different style Fender: rock, blues, PUNK .... Gibson: rock, metal models have hard rock ... classic rock and many more styles

  • StrAT

  • I'd hate to be that kid's neighbour.

  • @MrAssbaron Why!? I'll put my Bigass marshall amp and start playing if he was my neighbour i bet he'll be like *he starts playing* * i start playing* "HOLY SHIT WHATS THAT I CANT STAND IT TOO LOU--" *Head pops*

  • watch?v=cm06P3RFtVo

  • Its stupid to compare LP's to Strats. They're both great guitars but are used for different things. Strats have a sound all their own, as do LP's. You're comparing Humbuckers to Single coils. If you want a strat with a humbucker, get one.

  • @Danklin24 if you want a GLP with single coils, go get one haha

  • Gibson.

  • u suck

  • i like strat .....!! but if someone wants to play metal with strat he can use a very good pedal...

  • @YiannisMetallas96 Metal Zone works pretty good

  • Gibson Les Paul!!!

  • strat!!!!!!!!

  • me parece q el primer punte no lo hiciste vos he... es un efecto no?? porque empeso antes de q llegue tu dedo a la cuerda..

  • fuk the strat!!!

  • fender

  • shity amp ruined the sound of the LP

  • Suprisingly noone get's the point. The point is not to show which one is better and which one sucks, but that both are superawesome.

  • Fender Strat !

  • Les Pauls sound like they have a cold to me. Strats all the way, nothing other than Fender.

  • fender all the way

  • fender suckkkks

  • I'm more of a Fender fan myself...

  • les paul

  • les paul

  • FENDER STRATOCASTER WITH mini hambacker in neck

  • Les Paul for sure

  • You're awesome :) I like the Fender..

  • LES PAUL WINS!!!!!!!!!!

  • gibson all the way

  • gibson

  • FENDER!

  • Fender sound is better for me...=)

  • I want to buy a new guitar ;what should i choose a Les Paul Gibson Studio or a Fender Stratocaster?

  • if played well both are great instruments.

  • i mean honestly, they sound almost the same clean, and with some a little EQ on a mixer any electric guitar sounds like any electric guitar, at least from my hugely limited experience...

  • well it depends on the style of music for metal i think the better it's strato for blues and slow rock Les Paul its the better but anyways it needs a good guitarist who does fine his job :)

  • i hate your taste of fast metal u shud do slash instead he fucks everyone cuz hes the man :D

  • quit riding his dick...

  • les paul sounds fucking midi with distortion in this vid

  • neither are better than each other.

they both have signature tones. they are both very unique guitars. its upon peoples preference what tone they prefer, strat or les paul.

    i myself love both

  • fake les paul

  • The Les Paul has better tone

  • Where the hell was the blues. Both of those guitars are blues guitars.

And was that an American Strat.

  • The enjoyment of the song or sound comes from the player, not the guitar. I'm sure if you take a group of people and played straight licks, riffs or whatever from both guitars in different pedal and amp settings they can't tell the difference immediately.

  • Pickups are only 1 element of the difference in tone. The Fender has a bolt on neck opposed to Gibson's glue-on neck...They vibrate differently including the heavier and more solid body of the Les Paul as well. The Les Paul has a lot of sustain as well. Neither guitar is better than the other...it's all about personal choice in the end.

  • you playing ska at the biggining?

  • Fender has better tones..

Hendrix, pink floyd, radiohead, the strokes, nirvana are you kidding??

    FENDER!

  • well not really nirvana kurt just used to play anything that was cheap and at that time japanese fender strats where pretty cheap so he bought them kurt manly liked univox and mosrite in fact they said nirvana's first abum was recorded with a univox hi flyer and some of the nevermind album and he refered to the univox hi flyer as a plywod beast and even when designed the jagstang when fender sent him 2 of them he was not to happy with the sound also thats why he was always replacing the pickups.

  • @1234deedeeramone sure man but when nirvana started to be a pretty big band Kurt would always use fender it doesn't matter if he liked them or not he used them so.. He would most likely use a strat or a jazzmaster I don't think I ever saw him use Gibson.. And I don't think he used strats because they were cheap I mean come on the guy lived in a mansion and I he could afford any guitar he wanted!

  • yea but as you know kurt was an average guy he said in a interveiw one time he was just glad to get a lefthanded guitar so kurt would look for cheaper guitars and as you know kurt got pretty destructive with his guitars lol and he did not like gibson 2 ressons why he did not they are heavy and he had a bad back so he looked for lighter guitars the necks were to thick and kurt wasnt a big guy so his hands wernt the bigest in the world thats why he liked the mustang so much cause there necks small

  • gibson has the more wider sound when fenders flat. besides i mean there both good. i like gibson best. and hey hendrix used a SG and flying V a few times

  • @JCBkingg Sure gibson kicks ass

Sure fender kick ass But in the end a simple pickup change can stop this problem

You can get flat sounds with emg's in a les paul its all about pickups and the style you play ;)

  • it all depends on what you want to play. i play metal, so i use the LP. you get great distortion and smooth clean sounds all at a decent midrange level. the strat, its got a twangier, more countrified sound clean, and it only sounds really good distorted if you can get your amp that high without feedback or blowing the speaker.

  • Les Paul wins all the time plus it looks so much cooler

  • Not so fast saying the les paul is better for distortion, maybe for metal, sure, but for more bluesy stuff the strat is better. Don't believe me, type Stevie Ray or Hendrix into the search and be convinced.

  • In the hands of a good guitarist, it doesn't matter

  • What are you guys saying???

    Gibson fucking RULE!!!!!!!

  • Is that.... Humbuckers? Why did you remove fenders original? You just don't buy fender to replace the pick ups!

  • fender...all the way...always...GO FENDER!

  • I think that it's matter of taste and what U prefer, can't say which one is better than another , it's like U say that colour blue is better than black. One man like daughter other one mother-in-law.

  • strat and les pauls are twocompltely diffrent guitars a strat is more twangy but a les pauls more flat if u get me but there both nice but ide take the strat

  • i like the les paul more

  • You don't deserve those guitars you fucking suck.

  • Don't be such a fucking twat!

  • it's the player not the guitar , both guitars need new pickups

  • WtF? Just coz he aint an expert doesn't mean he shouldn't try. Don't be a douche man.

  • the les paul is not gibson they are the same but if it was a gibson les paul wins

  • i personaly like the les paul better because you can play all styles but i really like the fender jaguar

  • I can't choose because I own both and love them equally!

  • Fender !

  • no, both!

  • Fender !

  • okay how in the name of hell do you get that kind of sound on a strat!!!

  • Then again with a solid state modeling amp like the line 6 spider 3 that i have they would both sound the same anyway so i suppose there aint much point buying one ;0)

  • I have a Strat (Fender) and would like a Gibson Les Paul too but cant really justify owning both I could probably justify spending a few hundred quid on an epiphone but i believe they are a bit hit and miss, then again you can pick a used studio up for around 4-5 hundred i suppose, but i do like my Strat.

  • Man I watched the Strat. Then I rewinded back to Paul. Paul sounds better and more rich than Mr Strat. After all, Paul is a lawyer.

  • Tell Jimmy Hendrix, David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Chris Rea, and many others that Strat does not sound rich and good enough.

  • LES PAUL

  • With the Les Paul, you are in the ring, getting slugged in the gut by Sonny Liston. With the Strat you are bobbing and weaving with Cassius Clay!

  • The top Guitars in the world both depends which sound you are going for i personally prefer the les paul because it suits me

  • les paul but i still like strat

  • Fender STRAT !!

  • the stratocaster. les pauls are very one sided guitars. strats cover much more ground and come in much more variety.

  • LES PAUL

  • like them both

  • they are both incredible guitars! Les paul sounds better with heavier but the Strat is no doubt better with clean. That what i think. anyone agree? or disagree?

  • 100% agreed, but a strat with a hss setup is very near equal to the beasty ness of a les pauls heavy ass body

  • I think the eruption sounded better with the strat

  • lp all the way. i hate strats

  • Real Strato = 3 x simple coil....

Always, the Les Paul is better

  • don't use the lead setting for rhythm it wont sound as "ballsy".

  • gibson is more crunch, very crunch. Strato has a this sound. Indeed, a Les Paul is better than a Strato.

N.B. good playing, but the distortion really sucks!!!

  • i liked the LP better clean and dist xD

  • Well its hard to compare since thats a Squire. But I had a les paul, now I have an SRV strat, and I prefer the strat by leaps and bounds. I guess its all opinion, but I just think the strat is more comfortable and sounds cleaner

  • thats not a squire smarts, its a mexican fender strat HSS...

  • mexican made.... still not a fair match, fenders american made strats are much better

  • @IWAZB0RED why would you buy an hss if you had a les paul? i would only get the hss if i need a jack of all trades guitar otherwise i would get the standard with the true strat sound (I don't have a paul so i actually got the lonestar hss with the texas specials and the pearly gates bucker)

  • les paul i have a fender start and its junk so i bought a les paul its everything to me

  • gibson sound much better !!

  • they both sound great on clean and distortion.. but fenders are way lighter and the neck and body is wayy more comfortable.. and fenders seem to react better to different pedals and effects.. i personally say fender..

  • Same Here I Recently Switched To Fender And Im Happy With It.

  • GIBSON 1 FENDER 1

  • Gibson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude you rock and plus gibson is way better and besides, i don't like strats i got a used on from daddy's in waterbury and when i got it they gave it to me with a warped neck and i really want to sell it see, i don't want to sell it back to daddy's because they want to give me like 80 bucks and tc's gives like 20 bucks.

  • in clean sound is better gibson... but in overdrive is better fender

  • don't you mean the other way around?

  • other way around buddy

  • sloppy guitar playing. very sloppy.

  • you suck whit clean tones, you know distorstion is more than tapping.

  • gibson: 2 fender: 0

  • if u were playing out of the bridge pickup thay are going to sound almost the same because they they are humbuckers

  • epiphone les paul and fender mexican made strat they both suck

  • you liar!!!!!!! at 1:31 the music started before you started playing!!1

  • ow no. audio/video lagg :< its youtube.

  • omg i noticed that to mabe he has ghostly guitar effects!!

  • your are right

  • both guitars sounds awful because guitar player sucks !

  • well fuck you too :P

  • Why compare, they are two completely different guitars. Take em both. The les paul is your all arounder though. It'll do jazz, rock, pop, metal, blues, anything. The strat is, I dont want to say a one trick pony, but it doesnt nail as many genres believably

  • I Play everything with my stratocaster. Metal, Grunge, Rock, Psycedelic rock, Pink floyd stuff...Hendrix Stuff. I love the guitar. The gibson is good, but when you say it is more an allrounder than The strat...i am not too sure...my strat handles mostely anny genre = )

  • with my ibanez jem7v i can do it all xD

  • well i have a strat but i like gibson as well i guess in this vid it depends on the song or they type of music ur playin

  • a defo on the les paul but thats not the case both good :)

  • That is unfair, it looks like an epiphone vs fender, not gibson vs fender.

  • I think that in this particular video, the les paul sounded better, but thats not always the case, both are great guitars!

  • to be honest both of them are great guitars. But it really depends what type of music you want to play. Fender= Great distortion and overdrive. Lp = great clean, over drive and an okay distortion.. definately not metal though

  • horseshit...there are a ton of metal guys using les pauls all over the place.

  • No disrespect edculwick, but the professionals you spoke of don't use the low end products. I agree Squire sucks for pro playing, as well as the Epiphone, but they're priced for beginers. I paid $300 for a Les Paul Deluxe in 1973. It's worth $8k today, not that I'd sell it. I've seen all the artist you mentioned live, and not one use squire or epiphone. Just sayin'...

  • thats the whole point. all of these players are professionals, and if what he is saying is right, then they all use squires. reading things helps you see

  • thunderstruck!

  • what's better depends on what your playing.

Strat better for soft, LP is better for Rock

  • true, it all depends on the player. les pauls are better for down right, hardcore rock and roll. but strats can be used that way as well.

  • Damn this video's comment box is filled with LP fanboys. If you ask me the only decent Gibson is the SG.

  • les paul

  • toatally Fender cause i own one

  • defeats the point if you've got a humbucker in the bridge position of the strat. It aint a strat if its got a humbucker, Thats like a les paul with singles (even though there is a p90 version), it sounds more or less like a strat.

  • edculwick - you my freind are a tool. It's called an HSS and you can get them factory from Fender. All it does is make it a more versital guitar. While a LP will beat a strat in Metal anyday, this does help the strat hold it's own. It's a trade off the strat plays much smothers and easier, but the LP has better sound quality. But if your going for Blues or Jazz nothing beat's a strat, and I personaly I agree with an SSS over a HSS unless it's a SD Hotrail like my Strat =P

  • i cant even be arsed argueing with you. they're completely different guitars because of their build and pickups. a REAL strat had three singles and a REAL les paul has two humbuckers. and btw a les paul kicks a strat's ass. heavy duty means business. you tool

  • edculwick- Learn to read, I never said they were the same. I compaired the diffrence and even said LP had better sound quality. And did I not say a LP would out play a Start when it comes to metal!? I'm quite confused because your argueing a point I didnt even make!!!

And guess what an HSS is a real strat option. You can get an HH strat if you really want one! Not only that I said I prefferd the SSS over the HSS.

    So why the hate!?

  • i dont see how a gibson les paul can be likend to an overpriced squire? can you please explain it to me. why the hate? ok I'll calm down. here's some love

    x

    x

    x

    x

    x

  • edculwick- Btw one of Tom Morello's guitars he tours with is a Fender Strat with Vintage Noiseless coils in the neck and mid. And a SD Hotrail in the bridge. And he can get some crazy sounds out of that guitar, granted with the help of some effect pedles.

Too bad someone's going to have to break the new's to him that he's not using a real strat =(

  • did i say that a strat is bad? I'm argueing against the idea that a gibson les paul is an overpriced squire. strats are great, I love mine, the trem arm goes right back to its settled position, even after hoisting on it, and the singles do sound great. I just dont see how you can lable a gibson an over priced strat. and i did say that he uses one besides his other two, one of which (like you said) is a strat. ok i said that a HSS isnt a real strat, i guess i meant 'conventional'.

  • edculwick - Dude you replyed to the wrong da
