Jesus, she's always "getting over laryngitis." Some people just don't like Idina. IMO she's pretty bad. She does not sing well and her gasping really bothers me.

My whole family is from England but I personally think (if anyone cares) that if a musical is made into an ORIGINAL then it should NOT be tampered with. Thats why there are things such as broadway GLOBAL tours. Anything original shouldn't be fucked with in my opinion. I dont like Helen, she's a good singer but not in this show, sorry. I think she is way too classical for broadway. She needs to do Ave Maria or some sort of opera...NOT musical theater. I dont think its her style but thats just me

Musicals have long runs. Up to over 20 years for some. You can't practically expect the cast to remain with the musical for all their career. If Indina stayed with RENT, she wouldn't even be in Wicked.

I like Helen, but I feel like her accent isn't quite right for the part. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with Glinda having an interesting accent. I think it adds something neat if she has some Brittish class to her. I just think Helen's is too- too- aw, who was that character in that Doctor Who episode? Ah well. I just don't think it fits Galinda's breed. You know how those Gillikins are.

Helen certainly brought new ideas to her character. To be honest, I quite like it and I think it does fit well considering it's in Britain. I think we're only questioning it because everyone else has played the part in a completely different way. But I like Helen's ultra-posh, ultra-dipsy Glinda a lot!

i think that's just the way Helen chose to play the character (ie. posher and perhaps more ditsy than kristin.)

i'm not sure who i prefer, because helen was really good live (this video doesn't really do her justice).

nope - but idina was here with us for a few months... lucky us! kristen didn't come unfortunately, but we had someone called helen dallimore (who is quite controversial - people either loved her or hated her i think) who in my opinion, was fantastic.

um, i think it was the first musical theatre job that she ever did. i think before wicked, she just did serious plays in austrailia. she isn't really famous to people who don't know wicked, but yeah, she's definitely famous to fans.
