Ive been doing muay thai for 2 years and ive been having this pain on the muscle ontop of my groin i dont even know what it is, when i push kick it cracks. HELP!
Ah man that sounds nasty. I cant give you any advice really because it would prolly be wrong but I used to get something similar. When i tried a front kick the muscle just infront of my hip popped and it was quite painful. But I just started doing the kicking motion really slowly up until the point of pain and I think the muscle just got stronger and eventually it went away
Wow! I was wondering is there are any streching excercises for the front kick? I just can't strech my kicking leg. The knee somehow always stays bent. In the side kick video you you suggested some excersises for the supporting leg. Is the same issue causing problems here?
no this is guy is a serious legend. has such a scientific approach to martial art fundamentals which is amazing as people tend to just ignore or brush over them, you can really learn a lot from this guy.
Also If i was looking to buy one of your dvds, which is best if Im just looking to increase strength and flexability, but I'm not a grappler. A lot of your DVDS tend to focus on one thing like working on splits or backstrength, dont you have one thats just general strength and fitness?
He specifically deals with kicks. I think its great to focus on one area, as everything would take too long and he would not be able to focus enough on what he is master of.
If you want general conditioning, life kettlebells
hey what martial do you practice?it looks like tkd
but whatever it is! its good!

A well trained kicker, with a well picked target can cause significant damage.

For the front kick you need the flexibility of both the kicking and the supporting leg.
Look throught the ElasticSteel chanel, and you will see exercises for both.

You mean the DVD series on Kicking Techniques?
There will be a lot of break down and explanation of the kicks, but this is not from the DVD itself.

You may have missed the first part of this clip. The second one starts in the middle. This is due to youtube 10 minute policy.
