The source of many Touhou characters power is not just "they can shoot a lot," its much more abstract and far reaching that.

Many of them have bizarre powers that can manipulate not just physical entities, but anything that can be related to in an abstract and conceptual way.

Characters like Mario, Fox, Snake, etc. have very specific abilities that are aren't even comparable to a Touhou character's power.
