  • I am a bus driver I can relate to your story, BUT let me tell you what we deal with on a daily basis: schedules shrinking every time we sing work, traffic that gets busier every day, weather conditions, many people who shouldn't be driving, pedestrians crossing traffic lights when they shouldn't, all this makes us late and at the other end of our trip most times get no time to even go to the washroom. CMBC stand is Bus Stops are for people to wait for the bus not the other way around.

  • waaaaaah

  • Thanks for sharing your experience with everyone!

I would also like to share Transit Fare Check Watch. Did you just spot the TransLINK Police on the bus, skytrain, seabus, or perhaps at a station or bus stop? Let others know here! Take Pics or videos and post them on our facebook or twitter pages.

Witness a disturbing TransLINK incident? Post, tweet and facebook it! Visit our youtube page for the links and spread the word!

  • How long did you have to wait for the next bus? You say that you made eye contact with the driver. It is possible that the driver didn't see you. Take responsiblity for yourself. Plan your trip. Find out when the bus arrives. Get to the stop five minutes prior to arrival. Be at the pole. If it takes you longer to do that than a fully able bodied person then you will simply have to give yourself more time.

  • let me get this, you don't even know the bus scedule.you want all the people on the bus to wait for you when you don't even show up on time....cause you can't be bothered to check the schedule. It's public transit, not your personal transport service.

  • @bernadettebeatty - YOU my friend Bernadettebeatty are making ASSumptions

    :)

  • @stephen77334 Sure that's great! So if you're disabled like me, you just come out of the store, you're trying to make the bus, you're about 30-40 ft away, a normal guy/gal could run, hop, skip cartwheel to the bus in time, people like me and worse cannot, the bus drivers see's you, I mean, you know he see's you, the people on the bus see you, and now, hobbling like an idiot, waving your arms, begging please, and you're just about 5 ft away from your "ID post" and the driver just goes off....

  • Translink bus drivers can be either really nice, slacky, or mean, Today i encountered a bus driver who had the nerve to take the time to show me how to show him my bus pass more than 2 times, in an aggressive manner, literally grabbing it from my hands.

And just before that a bus came and let out a person in a wheelchair and so i was standing back to give some more room, as soon as he lets the wheelchair person out he closes the doors and drives off.. Even though i had the intention of riding.

  • Some bus drivers think they can act all tough and mighty just because THEY'RE the boss and control the bus. Some of these drivers should not be working with people at all.. I feel bad for what happened to you, i hope that didn't occur again since you've made this video.

  • I for one can not wait until i get a car, my N and start driving.

  • Your first complaint - Get to the bus stop at least 10mins prior to the bus coming.

2nd issue - The bus driver could have been driving properly and insuring the safety of those around him, especially pedestrians.

3rd issue - in the 15years i've been taking transit I have never run into a rude driver in regards to my brother who is mentally and physically handicapped. More so then you.

4th issue - Bus drivers have a schedule to keep. Show up early and you wont get left behind.

  • Bus drivers have to leave at certain times. It is not a matter of waiting for you or not - they have schedules to maintain.

I've yet to have any problems with transit whatsoever. I know many blind people who love the bus service.

The fact is if you're not waiting at the stop when the driver is there its not their fault. Also I don't know anyone who dislikes bus drivers. The people I've seen attack drivers verbally or physically have only been druggies.

I am a student who uses transit everyday.

  • What do you think would happen if bus drivers stop for everyone at a corner. That is what a Taxi is for. I ride the bus all the time and the eldery get on and so do the handicap.

  • @Nomad490 |: |I don't wish to cause an argument with you, but nowhere do I claim or state in my video that I wish for the bus to stop at every corner. |and I also stated two places in the video that "NOT ALL DRIVER?"OPERATORS are like this" -

  • I am sure you would also be the first to call if they are late.

  • @Nomad490 HA< Don't b so sure. The buses here are never on time and I factor that into my trip. It doesn't matter when the bus comes as far as I am concerned, I just don't think they should view us as 4th class citizens with no rights. We pay for this service. And yet the guy tells me, "YOU wait for us, we don't wait for you"... and that isn't just for disabled people, it goes for everyone.
