Why Empathy?

Let us extend our empathy to non-humans. They are tortured and killed in factory farms (and hatcheries and slaughterhouses) by the billions and most of us perpetuate that violence - mostly because that's what we're used to; that's what we taught since childhood. But animals feel pain and fear and seek happiness and joy; abundant studies and observations show that they feel empathy and grief, they enjoy playing and friendship. We can thrive on a vegan diet. I've been vegan 8 years and love it.

Fear is a basis for hatred.

Racism, nationalism, religion-ism and all the prejudices happen because of the fear. People fear each other because they don't understand each others feelings.

It's good to have empathy to prevent unnecessary fear and hatred. :-)
