excuse me? This 'trainer' uses a prong collar on this dachs?? The prong collar is considered animal abuse already here, but using it on a smooth haired dachsie is totally insane and it's beyond me that the owner allows this 'trainer' to use it. This guy isn't a trainer, he's a fool who thinks can 'handle' dogs, but he can't otherwise he wouldn't even consider using a collar like that.
@Xxfasoo0oolyxX But he´s not allowed into the house? Why not? The dog won't get cleaner or dirtier when you pet it outside. It's just ridiculous. A dog wants attention and doesn't want to be alone in a room in a garden. Especially at night.
@Xxfasoo0oolyxX A walk? What do you mean A walk? Dogs need several walks a day, not just A walk. And what about during the day? Who is going to take care of it?
@Xxfasoo0oolyxX You're home all day long? Will you stay with your dog in the night? Dogs don't like to be alone in the dark, locked up. What if it starts barking and yelling? What if it needs to go out and you can't hear your dog? What if something is going on and you can't hear it? Have you thought about that for ONE second?
@Xxfasoo0oolyxX In one of your replies you said. I'm with him during the day only when you go to sleep you go to your room. Your bedroom is in the room in the garden too? And what's the difference then? He's not allowed in the house, but you're really not living in the house but in a room in the garden?
you do not need a prong collar on a 10 lb dog you idiot. and #2 you're confusing him, first you're pulling him out of the door then when he actually goes out your saying no and correcting him. What are you doing? take the leash off, take the collar off and open the door and claim the door. Block it with your mind. THAT is boundary training. My dogs know (2 daschunds btw) that when the door is open, it just means the door is open. They are not to cross it until I say its ok. Educate yourself.
ok what are you going to do when you actually want the dog to come out the door? you just scared the living daylights and taught him going outside is bad...lame - PEOPLE check out KIKOPUP for REAL tips!
Use a clicker, it's painless and it works perfectly. I have dachsies myself and they pick it up within a week.

@Xxfasoo0oolyxX That's ridiculous. You don't take a dog to keep him in a room in the garden. Get over it.

You have a collor on him that digs into its skin. You dont need that . A normal collor works fine. and your stupid and shouldnt even own a dog..

This is a terrible method. See how scared and confused the poor dog is? Treats work about a million times better.
