95% of teens these days listen to the same formulaic, crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die!
It was a truly brilliant concert i saw the arsehole who throw the bottle at teardrop exploads lead singer it wasn't good he nearly had the show stooped heart where very good too, I lived in holbeck at the time my ex misses stayed at home but she heard every note from the block of flats but she missed a good day ha ha ha
@geoffsblues I was on Wortley Rec at the time of the concert and could hear it note for note. I was only 8 at the time and didn't really appreciate music at all back then. But I remember this concert.
Great hearing this. Thanks for posting. I remember Joan Jett being there and was it BowWowWow or Heart & Teardrop Explodes supporting also? Queen were fantastic. A very memorable day. Saturday May 29th, 1982 @ Leeds, Elland Road. Where have all the years gone? To top it off, that same year I got a personally handwritten letter from Brian May. A year and a half later, got a second letter from Brian. Seen them many, many times. No one comes close to Queen. Perfect vocals, perfect music. Amazing '
He usually didn't do falsetto live as it's unreliable for most untrained singers at the best of times. Also the PAs of the day were nothing like today and you had to really belt it out tiring the voice out quickly. Remember he was doing this every night all night for weeks on end. If he went for every high note on every song he'd lose his voice in a week. If you want an exact replica of the album then listen to the album.
Oh, dear God! This one just brought me to tears!!!!! Just can't quit crying... fucking AIDS... fucking leeches hounding him every day of his life... Sorry folks, but I just lost it. Had enough. Miss him too much.
@SobriquetF1 Yes, I agree with you. Freddie had a heart of gold and so many took advantage of him, and like Brian said in an interview in 2010, the one regret he had was that he wished they could have taken better care of Freddie, because he should be here NOW enjoying all the fantastic stuff that is going on with QUEEN. Check out the views on Youtube, and the WWRY theatre production is in many locations in Europe & of the course the movie about "Freddie" and Queen. Just too young to die!
Forgive me Brian and Roger but you are not allowed to use the name with other singer along with you. There was only one Queen, and it was with Freddie.
I remember the day Queen played Elland Road. I was 9 years old and staying with an aunt and uncle for the weekend. We drove about a mile away and could hear them! You could hear this on Wortley Rec (Leeds residents will know this park). I wish I could have been IN Elland Road as this was the closest I ever got to seeing Queen with Freddie live.
I was at this concert. Teardrop Explodes got bottled and when eventualy the main event started ... it was unbelievable! The "Flash Gordon" tape went on relentlessly until "crash" the band hit the stage with a rendition of "The Hero". Brian May said later "this is probably the best live show we've done to date" .
The concert at Milton Keynes "Live at the Bowl" was filmed a day later. Sadly it didn't outdo the Leeds gig. :-)
@Andy7Seas actually the gig at the bowl was a week later on 5th June 1982. I was lucky enough to be at both and great though MK was, the gig at the ground of the mighty whites was much better ......such a shame that the film version appears to have disappeared
@davidrhall1234 yes I was at Leeds and MK. Leeds was probably the best Queen gig I ever went to, people were so friendly it was just a special moment in time. Wish there was some film but I have yet to see any. Shame.
@MrNotbornyesterday1 a friend of mine saw the film many years ago and I remember seeing the cameramen on stage. unfortunately the company that filmed it long since disappeared and sadly so did the film
This is the gig right before the Milton Keynes concert; which was released on DVD as Queen on Fire: Live at the Bowl, which is probably why this is so similar to the MK version.
dancin dave..tenerife rocks queen style! i was there too. my son was born earlier that day..29th may 82..the missis was glad to get rid of me for a while!!
Very happy memories; my first ever gig at 15 years old and what show this was. I'd love to see some photos/cine film but I've never been able to track any down.
I was in a Queen's gig here in Sao Paulo (Brazil) by 1981 and I believed so far that night Queen would played the best "Somebody to Love" that I've heard, but this version is really, really beautiful.
I was there too.. Freddie and the lads were on top form. It was a very hot day - Freddie was drinking lot and enjoyed chucking water on those of us at the front.. Great memories..
I was there, what a day, it was indeed roasting hot, I miss my last train home and had to spend the night on leeds station, bring back the good times. freddie you are the greatest.
I remember the day well. I have neaver bin so thirsty in my entire life. I drunk a gallon after the gig. Red hot sun all day. Heart were good as well. Queen were mint. Flash was absolutly awesome!!!!
I was there!!!! Awesome gig, the best in my life.
