I was sitting right behind the sound guys! As she came up the aisle I was thinking..."OMG, that drink is for me!" Hahaha, how silly of me! :-P This was way more cool in person, but love to re-live. Man, I wish I could meet tori again and find out if it was my idea that got her to play this. I met her in Chicago as part of the platinum VIP and I request this because I knew Bug a Martini was a song a lot fans wanted to hear, its one of my favorites, and thought it fits Santa perfectly. (cont'd)
I requested in a letter because people have said that she is more likely to play a request if you give her a letter as to why you want it. In this case, it seemed self-explanitory so I simply wrote "Two words - Santa and Bug-a-Martini". She was Santa that night but this was the next Santa appearance on the tour and she played it! I never thought she would do something so amazing as to walk in the audience to give her husband a martini. i had no idea she was doing this for hoochie woman as well.
The guy she gave the metal cup in the audience to, didn't even watch the show half the time. He kept looking down at his phone or something. My seat was T12; so, I sat right behind him. What was he sitting there for anyway. The ushers kept moving everyone in row S towards the front. I just wish someone who carred about her music got it.
Hey, I was the "guy" who she gave the shaker cup to. I was texting the setlist to a major Tori fan friend of mine. I was sitting there because that was my seat. I definitely "cared" about her music. I know more about her music and her fans than you do. So suck it.
We were sitting toward the front, and saw Tori give the "shaker" to him..that was so cool! I wish we could have gotten a pic of Tori giving that to him. It was a once in a lifetime experience for him and you should be happy for him instead of being so critical. After all, talking to him later, he was texting a peep during the show who is seeing Tori on All the shows on the west coast. Whatcha think?
I wasn't being critical. I am just saying it like it is. The people I was sitting by said the same thing. His friend (who came over and talked to him) was excited about it and got him the sound guys set list for him to. It seems realy strange that everyone except him would be moved to the front. Yes, I did pay attention the the show.
I gave the usher my ticket and he led me to that seat, end of story. Ever think that maybe I knew the sound guy.. aka Tori's husband? Did you think there maybe was a REASON she gave me the shaker cup? Did you hang out with Tori before the show? Did your song request get played in the show? Just because a person isn't all "giddy" doesn't mean they don't care about the artist or the music.
I've been to hundreds of concerts and appreciate all aspects of the show (sound engineering, lighting, production, etc.)no matter if I'm up front, in the balcony, or in the sound booth. The friend I was relaying the setlist and events of the show to is a personal friend of Tori's. Don't judge a person because they aren't "appreciating" something the same way you are.
Thank you so much for posting this! I was at this show and was so disappointed when the boot got cancelled. Now at least I can look at this for memories!
