I use ppg 2120 urethane clear and if I sprayed it like this guy I'd have curtains of runs everywhere about 5 minutes later. He's overlapping 6 times in some spots! Impossible not to get runs doing that.

@bobby38001 i just did 3 spot jobs with jc620 shopline w/ jh6290 activator yesterday and i didnt have any runs you must be spraying the clear on to heavy put it on super light with a 90% overlap by the time you get all the way down the clear will be flat with some serious gloss

@Marblemania its just another technique to prevent runs and build on edges of the doors fender & quarter panel everything blends/melts in I have done it the same way a couple of times as the old saying goes there is more then one way to skin a cat plus who are you to say if some one is painting right your not even in the auto breed

@Marblemania Actually, you're wrong. Well, right and wrong. You're supposed to keep the gun at a 90 degree angle, but in preparation for the next panel of paint, he's tacking the surface, and making it easier to blend the two panels in. The painter is as good as the finish, and this finish is very good. Clear coat is an art and not a science.
