I'm here to talk about the existence of a brand new musical experience called Idaea. The influence ranges from Planet X, Meshuggah, Dream Theater, Chick Corea to Contemporany and Experimental music. It would be really cool if you visited our myspace and added coments, thoughts and opinions!:

Virgil,Jarzombek,Portnoy,Rockenfeild,Kolias and McBrain are true stand out's in a world of hack's and sample's because they are unique in that they have their own style.Peart is special on another level because of style and almost 4o year's of material to have to keep memorized and in that case Portnoy has a lot to remember too like 15 DT album's with 20 min. song's+liquid tension experiment wow!.
Well I'm not going to attack you, though i think your statement is very closed minded, instead of thinking your feet technique subtracts to your hands, view it as adding to your hands, our feet our extensions of our hands as our hands are extensions of our feet. Anything our hands can do, our feet can do, as well as the other way around. This is the evolution of drumming.
I watched the vid. dickface I know what he's doing. Have you ever heard of a musician's "bag of tricks"? This is one of his "little tricks" period. I didn't say he was reinventing the wheel with this technique. Hence: "little trick" not "crazy over the top advanced technique". The fact that he plays a backbeat on top is what completes the part . There's more to it than the feet my friend. Any faggot like yourself could do the bass drum part by itself. prob. not up to speed though.
so he added one note to make it sound like a fast triplet between the paraddidle kinda like a flam, this one sounds like what thomas haake do but more complex.
his methods arnt very hard, what he mostly does is take a practicall appraoch to a rythm and changes the accents on all the bars, or add noted, but never the less to have the patience to do all that is preety strong stuff, but this guy does have plenty of other wierd little tricks and crazy independence. has anybody here seen the ultimate drummers weekend 10. the solo he does there is fucking amazing
A ten year old with a few months practice on piano can play Beethoven. Playing something is one thing. Writing and coming up with the material is a different ball game. As far as coming up with new and exciting patterns/ grooves and actually applying them effectively with power and accuracy Donati owns Chambers,Lang,Hernandez etc. all put together!!!!!!!!!!!
Try clicking on my You Tube name and watching some of the videos that I uploaded dipshit. My bands name is TypeRelevant. Search for that on You Tube or Google if clicking on my YT name is too difficult for you. You might like Killer Guitar Solo Followed by Sick Drum solo (TypeRelevant)" Youll hear the crowd cheering my name Typenice during my solo. Gotta love that kind of interaction. You can also Google "Typenice" my website is the first result.
you might want to read all of the comments before you start thinking someone is trying to knock the person in the respective video. If you read my comment to MajorDick007 where I said "any faggot...could do the bass drum part...." it wasn't a knock against donati. I was simply reminding majordick that there was more to this than just the bassdrum part. This lick is actually a lot tougher than it looks when you consider that. Read my other comments and you'll see im a die hard donati fan!
By the way, I see you have "friend block" on. I sent you a friend invite if you want to discuss the matter privately. Otherwise, do some research before you start calling people out. Looks like you guessed wrong when you said that I didn't have any videos huh? I guess you cant even post positive comments on your drum heroes vids without being ostracized. Whats your deal anyways how is your playing coming along?
tony royster amazing memory that guy! benny greb too!nthats about it for the new bunch eric boudreault i have 1 of his old kind of home made album 10 years ago? called dynarythmication its cool i wonder what hes doin rigth now? lache pas le queb!!!
isn't it fun, that virgil can play with his feet patterns that are hard for most people with their hands, and can groove like sick on top of that? :) and it's also funny as hell when people make those silly comments like "he is fast but he can't groove" or, my personal favorite "this is nothing, buddy rich was much better" and stuff like that.. it's hilarious!
@ricthetapir Well....he was busy swearing at his bandmates.

Virgil could play anything anyone else can play, the reverse is not the same. Forget God, praise Virgil!
kosilveriarn 1 year ago
Virgil is THE man with his hands AND his feet.
I've seen very few drummers who can do what Virgil does at that speed, that accurately, and so often.
He's one of my favourite drummers of any type.
