  • Could this be a sub for a projector bulb? That would be sweet...

  • what about sookie ?

  • is it possible to maker a white diode laser?

  • @survivorevil nope, they STILL haven't made green.

  • @survivorevil either

  • I always wanted to make a white laserbeam! They said it could not be done! You proved them wrong. All colors come from RGB I was thinking if all the beams came together they would cancel each other out and the light would not be true laser light. Very cool! White Lasers rock!

  • where did u bought the violet diode?

  • @ableite Modwerx . com

  • @ableite modwerx . .comn is most likely the best

  • what is the ratio?

  • ROY G. BIV

  • Which color of this laser unit will burn best? Is it white because of the three laser beams combined to burn at the same time?

  • adding mobile Mirror XY (loud speaker) ready for the Lasershow

  • The only con to this is that everyone who doesn't understand will just think u wasted your time or your too much of a nerd. Truly impressive job. Anything like this retail would cost hundreds of dollars.

  • you realise shining a laser directly into your cam actually causes damage TO THE CAMERA right?

  • how does the laser produce heat when it is radiating light in the visible spectrum?

  • como se llaman esos espejos q usas amigo???

  • looks like a fkn bomb!! a suitcase with swiches coming outthan u open it its got so much technolagy shit

  • 1:34 LOL you just make"d very expensive laser ;D

  • Your RGV box and a CD is all I need at parties!

  • how you are giving the current to the red laser diode from dvd writer?

  • dude u should sell these i would buy one!

  • I need to make this for my application could u tell me all the componets you used and awsome video.

  • y did u make the green laser so big

  • Ok first of shouldn't the mixing of the lasers be impossible since each laser has a different wave length and frequency and I've tried to use a magnifying glass to pin point or amplify a laser and it didn't work could u explain ?

  • Please, What kind of Lens you use in the video's end, to cutter these " Thing "???

  • my question is that is what you use are mirrors or glass prisms Algier please answer me I want to build one and I have three green red and violet laser

  • @bmxhpi They are small galss optics salvaged from old dvd and blu ray drives

  • @FrigginSmift how much this cost its awsom

  • Nice build.

Except one thing, you soldered wires to a wallwarts plugs?

First off all you should never solder AC connections, second you couldve dismantled the wallwart which would make it look nicer.

  • Im not really bein disrespectful or bein an ass, but what was the point of this little invention??? To burn a match???

  • @SuperJames2point0

White lasers have a couple of nice applications, like projecting color images focus free, sou you could uses this to build an kick ass video beamer for example.

Also, you can't buy white laser diodes, so a white beam has to be assembled from RGB.

  • That's really cool that a CD will split up the different wavelengths at different angles. I never thought about it that way, but it makes sense. And it looks really awesome.

  • haha!!!

yellow lasers cost about 700$ the 5mw

and you built a 200mw yellow for under a 100$

    awesome!

  • fuken awesome dude!!!!!!

  • Very cool! now you need a Galvanometer or some physical effects ;-)

  • where do you get your dichros?

  • These were some of the optics that were saved from dvd and blu ray drives that i had dismantled in the past to build my lasers.

  • They are sensitive to static electricity so use ESD equipment for a longer lasting diode. If you are going to do a how-to video, please include the importance of ESD-protection.

  • that is awsome! Great job man.

  • awesome

  • What is the output power of the red and the violet laser?

  • Ha! Dissecting my first blue diode now. Goal is to build a very similar setup. The video is a heck of a motivator and has me excited. Awesome work!

  • Really cool, i am impressed, actually going home to disecrete my xbox hd dvd drive and use the blue laser from there. :)

  • Thanks for the inspiration! I'm gonna try this now. The only whites I've seen are on LPF with the PHR sleds that are small and complicated, but I think I could do this. :)

  • is there a way you can buy a laser and then change the color of it???

like in other words change the color of the bulb to,purple or blue.

  • Sure can, all of my violet, infrared and high powered red lasers started off as regular red lasers. I buy them for there collimationg assembly, then simply swap out the driver and laser diode with one of my own in the power and wavelength(color) i want.

  • ahh I see. Thanks you very much, the only thing is I dont know how to do that?

if there is any possible way you can make a video of how to do this?

    thanks so much!

  • Very nice assembly work. I think it might be rather hard to get all three beams to overlap correctly?

  • Its a pain in the butt :P

But it was worth it in the end

  • :D can imagine that.

BTW Could you drop me some hints on the driver circuits you used in your other vids to supply the diodes properly? I experienced the diodes being quite sensitive to overvoltage, i also read in some datasheets that some of them got a receiver diode on one of the external pins in order to measure output power. Works as a feedback for the driver. Did you ever make use of this mechanism?

  • Where did you get the beam splitter and mirrors for your setup? im trying to put together a project much similar to this one.

  • I save optical elements from sleds i take apart for diodes. These particular peices were ones i got from PS3 drives, as they have a very large PBS cubes ideal for this setup.

  • Does the loupe increase the burning power? always wanted to know :) Your best vid!

  • The lens focuses and concentrates the light to a much smaller spot which allows it to burn things easier. It doesn't create any additional power but rather redirects the power that is there in a way that allows it burn. Its like comparing a 50W flood light to a 50W spot light, same amount of light, but the spot light "looks and "feels" brighter and hotter cuz its less diffused. Same thing happens when you put a lens in front of a laser.

  • I see.. will try that with my blu-ray laser.I already burned an entire match box! hehe I think mine isn´t brighter than yours. Just need to better calibrate the pot. Thanks again

  • THE...... Awesome!!

  • That's just great!

  • really nice, I guess I have all the parts to do it, now just the time..... Some day, some day. Amazing work man.

  • Thanks, you won't be dissapointed when you complete it, the different colors are really incredible.

  • Thats a very nice enclosure, its always ready to go! Seems like a lot more people are getting into the whole

seven colored lasers these days. I've got a labby in a 6 by 8 by 3in. project box. The colors are very beautiful. Nice video btw.

  • pretty cool, nice case.

  • great work! Really impressing.

  • You are FREAKIN AWESOME RYAN!!!!

I miss seeing you make stuff like this. when you coming to visit

  • That´s awesome!!

  • lol i want a fricken laser box

  • cool
