I have a question. Do they make one for the white MacBook? Also, doesn't the liquid go through the apple logo in the middle and into the back of the display?
You are suppose to have the MacBook POWERED OFF and remove the battery if you can. In your case, both of those could have been done. Just a future FYI. I typed powered off in caps because I can't make it bold. I'm not trying to yell. I like your videos too. I subscribed.
Thank you for posting this. It has helped me decide on whether or not I want to buy one of these. I feel that a product like this is absolutely necessary since the aluminum body of the macbook is super slippery. However, I saw lots of negative reviews about this product on amazon, mainly because of the difficult installation - seeing how you do it definitely helps...
I say all this because I did the underside first (thank goodness) and it looks really ugly compared to the rest of my application (stretching, air bubbles, not placed exactly)
I learned this process the hard way. I made the mistake of doing the underside all at once and it was really hard to place it correctly...especially because each piece is to precisely cut. which brings me to my other point....
be careful NOT TO STRECH the material when placing because it does stretch fairly easily and if you do you might find bits of the material hanging over the edge or the screw holes not matching up properly.
To anyone thats thinking of getting this sheild I have a couple recommendations for when applying it.
Because the parts are so big it can be hard to put into place so i recommend doing the parts in halves. With the backing still on, place it on your laptop and tape half of it down to one side to keep it in place. Now your free to remove the backing from the other half and stick it to your laptop. Once that is in place you move on to the other half. continued...
Buy this. Use it. I bought a MB Pro 15", slid it under my bed while my case was being delivered and a screw was sticking down - leaving a 1/4" scratch.
So let me get this right with the spray.. you spray your fingers, the sticky side of the shield, and on the macbook itself..
and then you place the wet side of shield onto the macbook?.. (or do you use the sticky side of shield to let it "grab onto" ur hand, and use clean side to place on macbook?)
@KeilSoemTiem nono, the sticky side is placed on the macbook. The only reason for the spray is to help it slide on the surface when trying to put it into place because the sticky side is EXTREMELY sticky.
How long did you wait between applying the bottom and the top shields? I want to apply both in one day, but I'm not sure how long to wait for it to dry. . . .
how do you put it in the sides or the front when there are speaker holes on the MBP? or on the sides where there are ports..wont the water damage something?
i like the paper towel idea. i did the same thing when i installed the bottom. Just be careful so you dont disturb the paper towel so the little lint or particles lift up and get under the zagg as you apply. the IS isnt that hard to install as other people claim... all one needs in order to be successful is to take time and dont panic.
What about the screen? That it the most important part you don't want to get scratched! No ZAGG shield for that??

When you apply the thing to the lid, will the spraying liquid get inside via the apple logo?
Thanks
jamesallan7005 1 year ago
@jamesallan7005 it could, but zagg says to turn off your device for 24 hours. I never had liquid get inside though.

look like a macbook air with the paper towels lol.

does it leave any residue or reduced shine, if and when you decide to take the invisible shield off your macbook pro ?
qaseem5 1 year ago
@qaseem5 No it is easy to remove if you take your time. I do a video where I remove it from an iPhone if you search my channel.

@qaseem5 It looks the way it did when you put it on.

@KielSoemTiem no you spray both sides of the shield **DO NOT SPRAY YOUR MACBOOK**

Yes, I recommend it. I would use it all the time if I was not changing cases for reviews

Why do we need to spray our fingers with the liquid? Just curious.
I am thinking of getting this product. Seems great.
DottyDaughter 2 years ago
Because the shield is very, very sticky.
If you don't spray your fingers:
1. It will stick to your fingers :)
2. You will have some ugly fingerprints under the shield.

terry947 2 years ago

terry947 2 years ago
it also covers the sides as well

I put one of these on my Macbook Pro about a week ago.
ROYAL pain in the ass. Totally worth it, but don't be fooled by the official videos and how easy it appears.
