  • @pedroincendio Suicide used to get bumrushed and physically attacked on stage, I think they can handle a dead audience, lol.

  • what a performance!

  • I could not have resisted the urge to dance at this show.

  • Thank you.

  • its nice to know a fan of cold play [pure shit in a tesco bag] has heard of suicide. obviously it hasnt got cold plays amasing imagination musicaly [ahem] suicide are wonderfull.

  • Sounds a lot like Mark E Smith really

  • Holy shit @1:52! If you listen from the beginning it's like a mantra sucking you in and when that kicks in is just epic. Reminds me a lot of seeing NIN live. I was 18 in '97 - but we didn't have the internet like now, anything cool like this you had to almost find by accident in smaller cities - or know someone into them. Sorry I missed it.

  • How did coldplay come up in this? They are so boring they don't even exist.

  • Still smoking I see :)

  • Suicide Really Has Come Along Way Nice Band very revolutionary

  • My favourite SYNTH sound ever. So DARK & DIRTY INDUSTRIAL. Das Good no ? No-one has got anywhere close to SUICIDE.

  • wunderschön Alan, Martin LOVEVA

  • I would have killed myself if it wasn't for Suicide.

  • hahaha very nice, this is probably the only way you can really use that phrase.

  • bad ass

  • @doktorsawade how ironic

  • @doktorsawade So Suicide was the only way out?

  • alan vega is 71 , he was 59 when he performed this , he didn't release a record until he was 39

  • @clemzzz I didn't believe it at first ... but Wikipedia says the same.

    I'm a Suicide fan since I was a kid.

  • He was born in 1948.That would make him 61.

  • @PatOShea

    No he's born in 1938

  • this has Bad trip written all over it

    (= =D

  • suicide is fun to listen to on acid. I could kind of see how though.

  • They used to cover Sister Ray live in the 70's, you can hear it on the Half Alive album. It eventually evolved into Mr. Ray and became a song of their own.

  • I'm pretty sure this is reminiscent of Sister Ray from Lou Reed. I wonder if it's a satirical play or sarcastic. Any thoughts?

  • Thanks for posting this - love it!!!

  • 'I prefer vivaldi' lol shut up

  • anybody go a clue on when this was recorded?

  • 1997 @ Barbican Arts Center, London England

  • thx bro

  • I prefer Vivaldi.

  • What a Masterpiece..COOL....

  • the coolest artist around

  • Stunning!

  • Coldplay is just a dumbed-down rip-off of Radiohead and U2 for the masses. Listening to a washing machine would be more compelling.

  • totally coldplay sucks rhino crack

  • oh yeah! testify!

  • great comment!!!!!

    funny and true

  • @LowLife81 I think he was beeing sarcastic...

  • @socoolio may have been, but e may as well have said b@*ber.

no future in namedropping something thats already on too many lips

  • @LowLife81 haha.. i agree.. but his comment didn't even deserve a reply. the guy is obviously a clueless failure.

  • thanks for posting . i was looking for this video .

anyway i was throwing a i bit of sarcasm .

and your right . coldplay is the most monotonous piece of shit in the world , they even look bored while playing their own music in their videos . and im saying this , me being someone who enjoys

    listening to drone .

  • @executiveE I do love some Coldplay songs ... I'm a bit agree with you but maybe the lyrics are really poor , but enjoy some tunes ... BUT SUICIDE RULES ... FUCKING RULES and their live performances are just ahead of all times ... This songs is one of their best live version I've ever HEARD ! totally amazing ... Great presence and vocals too .... did you like American Supreme .. the 2nd disc live at london is also very destructive !

  • @executiveE i will blow ur fuckin head off.!

  • @executiveE Lol Coldplay. I'm not usually the type to say your opinion on music is flat out wrong, but if you like Coldplay, you're flat out wrong. Listen to Radiohead, instead. They're like if Coldplay wasn't shit.

  • Incredible version, terribly urban !

    I love it.

    Thanx for uploading

  • Fantastic!

  • Mighty Suicide!

  • mais qu est s qui s putain d passe,han?

  • I LOVE THIS VERSION!

  • Great two cool dudes.

  • Incredible.

  • this is the first time I have heard the new version.Good but the original is just cool and so disturbingly psycadelic.

  • Wow i havn't seen any of there new live stuff yet. Have to say this is good version of Mr Ray.

  • Fucking WOW!

  • Constant youth of this duo Vega+Rev. Very important sound.

  • thanks Lowlife81 for how to find this version of one of my favorite Suicide songs....thanks low life dude

  • What the hell????????

  • does anyone know where i can get this version, very different than lp version

  • There's a live EP that came out around ten years ago called Reinventing America. It only has two tracks though, this and the song Girl.

  • the original. the best.

  • Thank you for posting!

    OMG visual cocaine!

  • The keyboardist looks like the killer in Friedkin's "Cruising" which probably helps.

    Great stuff.

  • :D!

    alan vega is like, god.

    ._.

  • Suicide and the Electric EEls.

Best punk bands of all time.

    Great post--thanks.

  • impressive!

mixing these kind of different styles (rock, electro, punk) is difficult.

    but here it is nice.

  • trace of ian curtis covering sister ray...a little, perhaps?

  • Gotta love those synth sounds.

  • kick ass im glad ive discoververvd these assholes very nice

  • Seen them 22 times, from 76 to 2001

  • that is awesome.

Have you checked out Clinic? In my opinion, they have that trace of Suicide influence in them that is excellent.

  • Jim Morrison? Man.. shutup.

  • I'm so glad I checked these guys out.

Vega sounds oddly like Jim Morrison here though.

  • Frankie Teardrop? Please? Anyone?

  • Oddly fascinating, and unlike anything I've ever heard before. These guys scare me, but that's not necessarily a bad thing with this kind of music.

  • Perfect!! This is the top of rock'n'roll and techno music too

  • saw suicide in dc 2005 - this reminds me - great clip and noise - wonderful

  • great stuff, thanks very much....and is there a vid of "frankie teardrop" around?

  • Yes, less

  • Yes, more!

  • we need more suicide!

  • thanks very much

  • brilliant! thanks for posting this
