I don't think this program could work today because there are celebrities that aren't famous for anything except being famous, so they couldn't answer "yes" to any questions.
What an entertaining and relaxing program to watch.
I once thought that WML would work today with even manual flip cards dispensing with unnecessary modern electronic decorum. Unfortunately, the problem is that today such a program doesn't fit the demographic and an oversaturated media market would drown it. Too bad, but they could never remake it good anyway. I have seen enough revivals of other programs to know that what comes out is usually ugly and deformed.
I liked Hal Block and I liked Steve Allen, they both did funny things on WML. Fred Allen, though, added a dimension to WML in 1954 - 1956 that it never quite recaptured or achieved after Fred Allen's untimely death. His irony and sardonic humor in some ways seems even more fresh now.
