  • 2:50... Fail UAHuHAuhauHauA

  • Your video is a favorite on Jakarta

  • 1:28 Back in black :D

  • Your video is a favorite on Lebanon

  • OD3 or SD1?

  • can it give me a high overdrive, gain in bedroom low volume????

  • lovemy5kiddos don't knock it till you can do it ! =]

  • fuckin god damn blues scales play something else for a change!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Fender Standard Stratocaster?

  • @hub098002 It's a USA deluxe strat

  • the od3 really changes your basic clean sound in my opinion, not so cool. the change to overdrive doesn't sound very smooth in a way...

But I do have to say in this demo the pedal sounds better than mine.

  • Learn a different lick! So boring constantly hearing the same one!

  • OD 3 ROCKS!

  • I have the Mega Distortion, and I´m gonna buy an overdrive. Which one is most different, the Sd-1 or od-3??

  • @ACDCcoverkid dude get the OD-3!! i have the SD-1 and the OD-3 is better!

  • @ACDCcoverkid Yeah, Go with the OD-3. It has more gain and more bottom to it. The "Super" overdrive works good as a boost.

  • @ACDCcoverkid I take from your youtube name that youre into ACDC, the OD3 is perfect for that, and the pedal is alot more natural sounding.

  • @ACDCcoverkid ...OD-3 is much better than SD-1.............it costs more but is worth the extra money

  • Did anyone notice that tree in the backround?

  • OMG does Jason Spencer know ANY licks else than this? It's boring. He plays this lick 24/7

  • @adam10603 Um, considering this video is to show the differences between pedals (and not his playing ability) it's better that he plays the same thing on each pedal, so you can actually tell the difference between the pedals.

  • @adam10603 I agree, sure hes an OK guitarist but if thats all he knows than maybe not

  • hes using a jay turser or stratocaster wich gives it that natural blues sound

better to use a ibanez or epiphone

  • hes not that bad on this video....

  • @ompiedoso Ha Ha, the answer to your post just about an hour ago is pure boredom, me and most people look at what ever they would like on youtube at 2 in the morning, as for U and all the other people in the world u r not going to ruin my day neither is Jason Spencer, good day to you and to all and most importantly, rock on!

  • Comment removed

  • @ompiedoso he wishes he could score period, but anyways I can't stand his playing, it's so asinine

  • @CacheSeaker He cant score really? I saw this video in your account "How to Get a Quick Kiss from a Woman"...PATHETIC DUDE YOU ARE PATHETIC! get a life, play your g###dam guitar.

  • His guitar isen't even tuned..

  • This guy pisses me off so much. I think boss does it on purpouse

  • @CacheSeaker did he scored your girlfriend? Jason, you mean!

  • how can i make it sound like slash?

  • I hate your pentatonics

  • i forgot how much these videos suck

  • Hi, I'm about to buy a Boss OD-3 but I wonder if this one sounds good coupled with a Telecaster Baja. What kind of sound could I have? A little bit like Keith Richards? With more or less crunchy sound? Thank you for answering.

  • "It's a loud overdrive." Unless you turn it down.........

  • Does the OverDrive clean up with the volume and react to picking like the Blues Driver does?

  • 39 people are overdriven

  • chuju ty nie umiesz nic zagrać cały czas ta sama skala i akordy bucu , zagraj że coś z metalu zjebany chuju teepy kurwa!!

  • whats the difference between the overdrive and the blues driver?

  • @danthecoolman980 The overdrive pedal gives you a full gain control which by eugening the amount of gain into the amp you can play in different types like at: 2:40 (He turned the gain to maximum) and it used to play classic RockNRoll and more (Not recommended for Metal-use Distortion for that)

Blues driver lets you control (mostly) the bass and the tone amount and it gives you a smooth tone of Blues and Jazz its also recommended for a slow rythm songs as well.

  • Every review I've seen about this guy, he always, but ALWAYS!!! use the same fucking bluesy shit.

  • @bestfreetutorials maybe he likes blues

  • he used distortion and overdrive and pushes the gain up high but he still playing the bluee scales and same chords all over AGAINNNN

  • Hello Jason Spencer.

    :S

    XD

  • which BOSS overdrive pedals's good for Judas Priest and Iron Maiden??? Or maybe I need a DS???

  • @IronMetl You need distortion :D

  • @thedrummerkid88 I've got Metal Zone 1 year ago but it's too heavy so which dist do you mean? DS-1?

  • @IronMetl Was just about to recommend that. Also, if you want to get a better sound, you should get a compressor pedal.

  • @IronMetl Try an ML-2

  • @coronet67 Ha-ha-ha-ha!!! I tried it, it's harder than MT-2! I need just heavy metal - hard rock dist! Maybe DS-1?

  • i want some really heavy shit dist pedal what wud u guys recomend thats that too expensive

  • Awesome review.;) You give the best in my opinion. But I still think is funny that you always play the same scale:P

  • So this pedal can be used to push an already driven amp harder to get more distortion?

  • i dont know why but something makes me hesitate buying boss pedals..think theyre a bit overpriced, i had a fender boss deluxe reverb and it wasnt that great

  • sorry... 2:25 and 2:35

  • is this pedal suitable for guns n roses solos and rythms ?

  • @joy4078 Sounds like it is but i would get a wahwah aswell cuz that makes Mr brownstone so much cooler!!

  • Attention balding white dudes: Grow a goatee and shave your head. The baseball cap thing is fooling no one, and it makes you look like a douche.

  • @Hoopermazing Well I guess I'll know how to recognise you if I ever see you in real life, then.

  • @minedarea I doubt if you see much of anything except the bottom of a glass, you drunk Irish bastard.

  • @Hoopermazing Nice. That's about the standard of discourse I'd expect from someone who thinks that growing a goatee is a good idea.

  • @minedarea It's an excellent idea for a balding white dude considering the alternatives.

  • @Hoopermazing

I doubt you'll ever contribute to society, numbskull redneck.

  • @rolandocbf Redneck? That's funny, especially since you are much more closely related to Rednecks, both genetically and culturally, than me.

  • @Hoopermazing

And are you aware, you silly fuck, that most Europeans are of Celtic ancestory? The same Europeans that are responsible for the Renaissance, the greatest period of mass enlightenment? And for Newton,Hawking and Einstein?

The word Redneck goes beyond genetics. It's a mindset, and had you any fucking knowledge at all of genetics, you'd know that stupidity isn't inheretible. The word Redneck means you're a stupid fucking yank, which makes you one.

  • is it just me or does he sound out of tune?

  • I dislike distortion pedals of any kind. I like this pedal. Like he says clean boost this thing is nice. It will go to down and dirty. I had an Ibanez TS9 and sold it.

  • 0:51 OMFG IT'S SPONGEBOB!!!

I'm sorry for such a dumb comment, but I had to XD

  • I watch these videos to get a basic idea of what a pedal sounds like. Not to be shocked by how good the guitar player is. I dont think he is good or bad. Hes just planking away for demo purposes.

  • I think that World Music Supply paid a bunch of morons to defend this Jason Spencer dude on youtube...

  • who cares what is he playing? He shows the pedal, not his playing skills. Just the sound is matters.

  • ...hey he IS a seller not a virtuoso showing talent...

he does a good job , the licks are simple but effective to HEAR the sound he want to SELL!!

THIS IS A SHOP not a show

  • I thought this was a pedal demo not a roast?

  • @jammers5

Do you think this video is a well made demo of the pedal?

If you do....i really can't understand why...this guy is aweful in my opinion....playing ONE chord over and over again changing the settings would be way better than playing random jazz licks...

  • @emurami Sure I think this video demo is fine as it it. I can hear what the pedal does, so it serves it's purpose. Whether or not the guy is a good guitar player or nor is irrelevant. I honestly believe ppl are being far too critical. Check out the Visual Sound pedal "shootouts" - they feature a guitar player playing the same lick OVER and OVER, but as far as I'm concerned its a FANTASTIC video demo too!

  • who teaches this scale him?

  • @shahin6912 - same person who teaches English to you

  • oh no, not Jason Spencer AGAIN...

  • @EuropeFactor did you feel more like a rock star insulting him? or you are just repeating this childish bulliying you saw in his other videos?

Music is a message, by your behaviour you have probably nothin to say, you sound like a frustrated musician

  • How do you record these video with good sound quality.. what camera and set up do you use? be helpful to know..

  • i have the same exact deluxe ash strat as his even same color but, im wondereing if he has the s-1 switch engaged (pushed down) during the demo.

  • VIRGIN

  • OD1, SD1, BD2, OS2 etc, sound OK. This one maybe the Boss that sounds a bit better than OK?

  • lmao how did he get this job with his regurgitated licks??

Maybe we could have a more versatile player who can demo the pedal in more situations than just blues.

Seriously, this guy is just limiting the potential of this pedal. Get a REAL player demo'ing these pedals sheesh!

  • why does he make everything shound like shit

  • You always do great demos. They are clear and easy to follow along. Plus, you sound quality is A1 so that you can here what the pedal sound like. I have a OD-3 and love it. I'm not a big distortion guy but do like a warmer distortion sound and this pedal has it.

  • there both good pedals like SD-1 & OD-3

  • the 90's wants your colthes back

  • @Marcycat1 Copier! That is my quote. Look at the DS-1 video

  • what is better..sd1 or od3???

  • on all the videos...he says the same stuff: "hi, i'm Jason Spencer with World Music Supply...I'm Gonna have a look at the **** a pretty basic **** pedal"

  • The OD-3 is simply a great pedal! So versatile! The must have Boss pedals are---DS-1---BD-2---SD-1---OD---3..and OD-1 if you can find one....the best drive pedals out there!

  • i don't really like boss overdrive pedals, they all sound pretty much the same, and all of them sound very ordinary, there's originality in the sound! you can't do much with these

  • THATS a GREAT clean sound.. is that cause of the fender strat? it sounds like its coming out of a solid state amp, not a tube

  • can overdrive boost distortion?

  • @GuitarsBlood absolutely..best way to do it is by kicking an od pedal on when your amp is already distorted. gives you a thick lead tone for leads.

  • @varone6t9 thanks, i'll try that!

  • Why does he sound so... weak and small? Too much compression?

  • @radomu1 he is so weak and small because he has no friends to go to the gym with.

  • This pedal Sound is like ACDC

  • Comment removed

  • He is degluting in all of his videos. Glurp. He is the swallowing man.

  • Dude couldnt you just play a few rythm parts or at least a little powerchord?

  • What song where you playing between 0.27 and 0.31 ?

  • sounds like fucking paperboy 2 music

  • I never really have been a fan of the guy, but this is not a bad demo! Cut him some slack!

  • I wanna buy everything this guy markets.

  • Fuck every last one of you glue-sniffing little metal losers.

  • @Hoopermazing We sniff glue? I mean i drink, but i don't know what kind of metalheads you've met. Why so much offense? You know even guys like Stevie ray used these the same way metalheads do, to tighten up and add more gain to an already distorted sound. It's a little much to say fuck all the metalheads for being interested in improving their guitar sound with this certain pedal. So fuck every last one of you music snobs who dislike an entire demographic of people based on their taste :)

  • @noremac91 I don't give a rat's ass about Stevie Ray Vaughan. So, that comparison was lost on me.

  • @Hoopermazing

Well then you clearly have no understanding or appreciation of the electric guitar if you can't appreciate any metal, and don't give a rats ass ablout stevie ray, Why the hell are you are here to annoy everybody?

  • @noremac91 I've been playing electric guitar longer that you been breathing. Clearly, you are under the delusion that adolescent trailer-trash metal noise and derivative fake blues are the only styles of music suited to that instrument. Of course, that couldn't be further from the truth. Now, run along and practice some of those horrid pentatonic licks that you idiots endlessly regurgitate.

  • @Hoopermazing I'm just extremely surprised that an electric guitar player as seemingly "Distinguished" and "above evryone else here" as you are, would call Stevie Ray Vaughan "fake" and not appreciate him.but i can only make the assumption that if you can't appreciate stevie than you don't appreciate the likes of Buddy guy, Jeff Beck, Frank Marino, Alex Lifeson, etc. Different styles i know, your just a stuck up, pretentious jazz musician, who really looks down on the rock world, asshole.

  • @noremac91 I never claimed to be either "distinguished" or "above evryone [sic] else." You are as presumptuous as you are stupid. So, being a nitwit, you probably shouldn't trust any of your assumptions about anything. If they are as off base as your the ones you've made in this thread, you're wrong most of the time.

  • @Hoopermazing Hey man, all I'm trying to say is, you come off real pretentious and stuck up, putting down all sorts of music and people so aggressively. Your original comment was just really uncalled for seeing as it applies to a wide variety of people. So i intentionally made this extreme assumption just to see if you would elaborate on what you have against rock, blues and metal guitarists. Smart people ask questions so thats exactly what i'm doing, dumb people fire aimless insults ;)

  • ever learn how to play rhythm guitar you douchebag?

  • I'll take his Job, Please Fire Him! We Are tired of the same Licks on ALL the demos!

  • i got 1 of these pedals and when i plug it into the amp it makes a hissing noise, can you help.? (please)

  • Stop showing off and play some chords, you dick. We want to know what the pedal sounds like...we don't care about your shitty blues scales

  • I have nothing against this guy

  • @gypsysunerainbow ikr everyone hates him but I think he does his job and gives a good demo of all the pedals wether or not he plays the same lick over and over

  • damn, this is mostly a blues pedal, so why should he play metal?^^

  • this video wasnt useful at all

way to try and show off

    tool

  • how does anyone hate blues? there would be no rock and roll without it.

  • fuck you cunt!!

  • i hate blues .

  • stop playing the same blues lick over and over and play some goddamn chords. I want to hear what the pedal sounds like and it barely sounds any different whether the pedal is on or off. Blues isn't the only kind of music ya know!

  • i really like boss effects...

  • this is fuck!!

  • is he friggin playing a fender starcaster .....well it comes from a starter pack and its a cheap made in china guitar too

  • uhhh, you could get off your lazy ass, go to guitar center, and play the pedals on your own. don't hate on theses vids, no one's forcing you to watch em'.

  • He's always playing the same lick, but in different scales : 0:00 to 0:07 0:35 to 0:40 0:55 to 1:00 1:05 to 1:08 1:35 to 1:40 1:40 to 1:42 1:43 to 1:48 2:03 to 2:07 2:07 to 2:10 2:39 to 2:43 3:03 to 3:05 3:10 to 3:13
  • @kebekoi66

in all of his all videos

  • @kebekoi66 so what? its a demo, not a rock concert.

  • @kebekoi66 lol good point!

  • @kebekoi66 HAHA you def. got waaaaaaaay to much time!!!!

  • @kebekoi66 its best to compare sound with the same licks so you will actually hear the difference

  • @Holycrap27 yeah you're right, but he plays the scales in every demo.

  • @Holycrap27 if he played a simple chord once with each pedal at different settings it would be enough, he is just being a dick cause he wants attention

  • @snooch91 well if you were as good as him, I bet you would take that opportunity to show off :p

  • @Holycrap27 i hope thats a joke :P

  • @kebekoi66 lol way to prove how shitty of a guitar player he is

  • @kebekoi66 Holy crap, I thought you were kidding. Man, Jason is uncreative o.o

  • Ya? So what? Are you one of those typical guitar snob wannabee's? I used to play the clubs 6 nights a week years ago. There was always a table full of you dimwits critiquing my every move. One wrong note in a Rush song for instance and the loser guitar wannabee bunch would be shaking their dumb heads. Losers! Look, the guy is doing a demo of the pedal. This isn't an audition it's a god damn pedal demo twat brain! Get over it! Go back in your cave and practice your flat five Melodic minor Lydian!

  • @fender4444 I was just pointing out a fact... It seems like many people thought as I did (47 thumbs up...)

    Whatever...

  • @kebekoi66 you have waaaay to much free time on your hands my friend. not a bad thing though

  • @kebekoi66 If you practiced as much as you criticized you'd be famous, but your not because of it.

  • @kebekoi66 that's the idea - so you can hear the difference once he's changed the settings. If he played different licks it would be more difficult to discern.

  • @kebekoi66 He is showing u the pedal, not what he can play!

  • @vonapparatus We'd like to see how it sounds with different styles of music though

  • @kebekoi66 I never would have even thought of it and now it's freakin annoying me. Good job.

  • @kebekoi66 oh well, i guess you mean hes not able to play more stuff.?? anyways i dont think so, fact is when you demo something, especialy a sound effect, its good to try its settings on the same riff, so you get a better idea of what the differences (soundwise) really are.

  • @kebekoi66 play it better idiot

  • @romanow94 If you honestly think that no one can play, what this guy just played, any better then you seriously need to put down the guitar or keep practicing.... a lot!

  • @kebekoi66 why would you take the time to figure this out?

  • @kebekoi66 Well done! You can actually hear that he sometimes plays the exact scale at different times. What an awesome guitar play to be able to play the exact same thing over & over! :D

  • @kebekoi66 que manera de perder el tiempo

  • @kebekoi66 yes, but it's an effects demo, you want to hear the same thing at different settings to get the best idea of the different tones. i see this comment on most of the videos with this guy in, but it's not a guitar skills demo it's an effects demo. needless to say he's far better a guitarist than i, and probably most people who watch this

  • i think this is one of his best demonstrations

  • I don't hate this guy, but I do agree that he should try more chords on the lower strings and show us what it sounds like when a rhythm player is using it

  • he's probably got better chops than most people commenting

  • @Barefoot67 Lol I second this. He's doing better at demoing than all these assholes.

  • Fags, I'm pretty sure this video is about the pedal tones and not the guys guitar skills, dumbasses.

  • this guys reviews suck i saw his review for boss ds1 thinking it was good, then i bought one and it sounds like shit

  • GCD GCD GCD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!

  • i like jason spencer!

  • Could you please tell me wich colour it is?

  • @Edor12345 yellow!!

  • what kind of pick ups is he using??

  • so would this be a good thing to give my boss ds-1 pedal a better sound

  • Whats the difference between distortion and overdrive?

  • @SamuelllSabotage Distortion generally is played over a clean channel on your amp, overdrive you add to the distortion channel on your amp to make it heavier and more distorted. You can also just use your overdrive on the clean channel for a more bluesy tone.

  • @SamuelllSabotage distortion = distorted signal to the amp, overdrive is push the amp to distort.
