  • kind of makes me sad that, they barely make characters like squall in FF anymore..or like cloudkilove those dark epic Gothic warrior looking 1..

  • great!!! SQUALL always whas the FF char i like the most,i like chars like cloud, vincent valentine, aki rose,lightning..but squall is amazing,i can even relate with him alot..hes look & rebellious spirit..i love tha action figure i will love to collected..nice video bro

  • Man... I thought MY figure had problems... I would NEVER in a million years be remotely satisfied with it yours. It practically falls apart.

  • His face is very nice sculped indeed, and the paintjob on it is pretty decent. But, IMO, it doesn't like like Squall, no matter how good it looks. It's more similar to an anime figure's face than the in-game Dissidia model.

I also compared him to my original FFVIII Squall and their facial structure is totally different.

    I was so dissapointed...

  • My Squall comes soon.

I was looking forward to it, but your review kinda ruined it...

If my one ends up being so wabbly as yours i'll definately get it replaced.

  • @CaptainKacknup Sorry I ruined your Squall experience, I didn't mean to...

Hope your Squall will be fine.

  • @peppy4brawl

Hey, no problem. I'm kinda glad i've stumbled upon your review, because now, i know what to be careful about and i thank you for that.

  • @CaptainKacknup Ok, cool, glad I helped you out then.

Please let me know how your Squall goes if you have the time.

  • @peppy4brawl

Okay, today i received the Cloud one.

I opened the box, and the first thing that came out was his right hand. It was completely broken at the wrist joint.

All the other joints, except the elbows, are extremely stiff and slightly bent, making it impossible to pose that thing by any means.

The sword that comes with it, BARELY fits into his hands. You have to apply quite some pressure to make it fit, which is absolutely not recommandable with this weak joints.

    Stay away from those!

  • @peppy4brawl

My Squall should come soon. I better don't touch it at all...

  • @CaptainKacknup Ow, your Cloud does'nt sound good. So, as soon as you opened it, the right hand fell right off, even before you got him out? Are you also getting Dissidia Gabranth as well, because I heard that he has very loose joints. However, he's suppose to be the most sturdy out of the three. Still hoping that your Squall will be fine.

  • @peppy4brawl

Yep, it came off right away. I managed to fix it though, the break was very clean. Can't do much poses now, but i wanted to display him in his initial pose anyway.

Squall came this morning and he's absolutely fine. The sword is a bit wobbly as you've shown in your video, but other than that, i'm really pleased with him.

Pretty sad that many of them are so poorly manufactured, they look really nice!

Oh and no, i'm not getting Gabranth. I don't like him that much.

  • @CaptainKacknup

Good to hear that your Squall is all fine. I've fixed mine as well so now he can do all sorts of poses. When it comes down to articulation and sculpt, its awsome, but its the joints and other issues that let it down.

Hope that there will be more figures in this line, I'd really like to see a Terra!

  • @peppy4brawl 2/3 of your review and I'm seriously considering about not replacing for another squall, I'm might ask for a Lightning...

I have about 23 FF play arts figures, only had problems with Auron and Yuna, their elbow joints were shit and broke easily. But the FFVII series are quite sturdy.

This new "Kai" series seems to be having serious quality control issues!

  • @e12agent Hey, thanks for letting me know about your Squall. If your thinking about replacing him for Lighting instead then, I hate to say this to Squall, but Lighting, in my opinion is the better figure. She has a very wide range of articulation with very limited restrictions. Her joints are also very strong and shouldn't break on you.

I agree with the "Kai" series having some issues. Every review and figure I've seen seems to have loose joints or fragile parts.

  • @peppy4brawl I recently bought one, when I first tried to swap hands, the ball joint got stuck to the hand, when I tried again the arm axis on the ball joint broke!

That made me very sad, I'm glad the store agreed to replace it.

Why do they want to make a super articulated figure, but use such weak materials?

  • how tall does it stand???

  • @gearsofcake12 Around 8 to 9 inches. Hope this helps.

  • I really want this figure! It's just now im broke, but my bday is around the corner, too. I might want to sell my original version, though... By the way, are they the same height?

  • @dethlady0 I've now fixed his arm, waist, hand and other problems. He is now extremely posable and awsome to play with! When you mean the same height, do you mean the FF VIII play arts Squall? If so, no. Play arts figures are around 7 to 8 inches while Play arts Kai figures are around 10 inches.

  • @peppy4brawl can i ask how you fixed the problems? im thinking of getting one... but hate it when figures cant hold their own weapons

  • @MrBeknight WIth mine, I used super glue to glue back his left arm. I also used super glue to glue his waist together. But because of this, he can't move his waist. But I glued it at a position so that it doesn't prevent him from doing all the poses he could do before. For his hand, I used a tiny bit of blu-tac to hold his Gunblade better.

But I heard that the new releases of Squall have been improved slightly, but I'm not sure what.

    Hope this helps.

  • lol funny review dude but i think you just got a factory defect squall(i mean the loose joints) because my dissidia figures are fine they dont pop off but your right about the weak hands :)

  • @FantasyCourier Ha ha, yeah. Thanks for telling me that it may be a defect Squall, but I've fixed his arm and waist now. He can be posed without falling apart now! But his hand is still very loose though...
