The fine piano player, Buck Washington, was part of a comedy-duo, "Buck and Bubbles", they also sang and danced, appeared in films, & were very well-known.
One of my all time favorite Jazz standards, I would love to recreate this on guitar with a light dreamy distortion. I was reminded of it from The benjamin Button Movie, the second phrase like 12 bars in is the one that gets me every time. Loony Tunes & Tom & Jerry Cartoons used it alot, I think thats where it grabbed me in my childhood...

Great song...btw... I'd like to let everyone out there know the Chinese Communist Party has been persecuting 70 million Falun Gong spiritual practitioners for 10 years in China. They are put in slave-labor camps and forced to make stuff sold here. They take organs from them and sell them to rich people. The media doesn't cover it. It must stop. Thanks.
The trumpet. I've never loved a musical instrument more. And it's because of Louis. And I always know when he's playing it. He has this very recognizable way.
I've loved this record all my life - Louis Armstrong is at his best - but credit is also due to the fine and sensitive piano accompaniment by Floyd Buck Washington. I see this recording is on the soundtrack of the new movie "Benjamin Button" !

For sure.
Louis was a goddamn genius.
Him, Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane played from their soul. Originals.

In the Jazz history he is, in my opinion one of the 4 genious. Louis, Duke, Django and Parker. Hein

I couldn't agree more-people tend to underestimate the brilliance of Django.
Perhaps we could fit Art Tatum in there somewhere..

Django and Art were definitely in the same league as well.
