@stevenscottoddballz That's actually part of the story. His voice was damaged, and he couldn't speak up to this point. The scientist ape thinks he might be intelligent, but he can't prove it to them because he can's speak. This is the point of the movie when his voice box finally heals and he can reveal his intelligence, and this is the first thing they hear him say.
@MannyMMA uh no, the line was WAY better in this one, not just spewed out by some shitty actor. There was actually tension leading up to this, because it was the first thing they heard him say. In the new one it was just a reference, which is cool, but it was kind of goofy. Ceaser's line put him to shame.
@11808Clover The new one isn't just spewed out by some shitty actor. There was actually tension leading up to this, because it was the first thing Caesar did to stood up to him. So it wasn't goofy at all.
@FireStormBaller I meant malfoys's line, it just sounded stupid when he said it. I mean yeah when ceaser says "NO" that was awesome, that was just intense.
@AMetalWorld Bad news? Lol, how so? It's your opinion, it's not like we all have to form one judgement on the movie, if you didn't like it, then you didn't like it. Not my problem. Rise was amazing though :D
I really didn't like that they had to quote this line in the new film, it actually made me start to laugh. I loved what came after though, shut me up in a heartbeat.
Here everyone was thinking that this incredible scene could not be made anymore Awesome-er. Yet, Caesar took all our breaths away and made all our jaws drop...
Saw the Rise of the Planet of the Apes last night, when they use this line a few ppl kinda laughed... what happened next though, entire theatre was laughing haha awesome
sorry Malfoy Mr Heston did it Best :) ps Rise of the Planet of the Apes WAS FUCKIN AWESOME!!!!!! made up for ti...That hallucination everyone had back in the early 2000s. yea Hallucination o.O
Ahh the 1967 movie. This one is better than the remake. Same goes for The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951). Same goes for "The War of the Worlds (1953)"... Now with a new remake of "When Worlds Collide" in the works, I seriously hope they dont blow it... It was afterall another 1951 movie.
What I love about this line is that beforehand in the movie before his throat heals, you want to punch every ape for being so condesending to humans. Saying this in the middle of the street was like a huge slap across the face to all of them!
I met Charlton Heston on the set of the film 'Alaska'. He is a true gentleman - as majestic and classy as he appears on the screen. One of the legendary greats along with Gregory Peck and Clint Eastwood. Too many pretty boys in Hollywood nowadays...
The Pope, and the Holy Catholic Church as a whole, is unable by definition to define dogma concerning scientific matters (only matters pertaining to faith and morals). Popes and prelates may promote their own opinions and they may set limits on what can and cannot be considered by Catholics (such as stating that any "origin of life" theory MUST include Adam and Eve as our literal ancestral parents), but they are not the stance of the Church and are not binding upon Catholics.
Why can't the younger generations appreciate the great films of yesteryears? I am 17yrs old and can proudly say I have seen all the Planet of the Apes films. I like the original better then Burton's.
@einileethestrange Maybe because as time has gone by, cinematic techniques have been defined to almost perfection. These movies don't look as good as their modern day counterparts, and certainly the acting can't be portrayed as dramatically with such long use of the same shot. Deal with it. You like the original on the sole basis it's the original, and it has some credit in being so.
@einileethestrange im 15 and i love classic movies. i hate remakes of movies. if there ever is a remake of all the star wars i will burn them and keep the originals
To be honest I didn't like movies older than 5-6 years when I was a kid, mostly because I focused on visual effects rather than acting, plot and the message. As I grew up I saw more and more classics and discovered how well made they are and how well they still hold up in this day and age.
Well, I grew up and matured. Sadly, I have a feeling this won't be true for the majority of kids growing up now. I have an eerie feeling we'll see lots of videogame movies in the future.
@McLarenMercedes Amen my friend. Its amazing how narrow minded and uninspired some people can feel when they get so caught up in the visual effects in todays films when the real messages are being ignored in films like Planet of the Apes. The beast of man reading from Cornelius is the message that sums up our existence and why we make the world the way it is. JJ Abrams is someone we should thank for helping our imaginations grow with original and thrilling films for one.
@einileethestrange good for you! I wish your generation did that more but those are the ones who have no love or interest in why these legendary films paved the way for the cinema now.
